    Thanks for the good tip on the chain stay protector! I finally got my Fluid FS1 last week, and the first thing I did was remove the existing one and wrapped a $5 kmart racer tube around the chain stay, it affords complete end to end coverage and looks better too IMO. I am really loving this bike, super stable when going flat out, really well balanced. I also found the seat a bit uncomfortable at first, but since riding it a lot this past week, my butt has hardened up and its not an issue any more.

    Nice! I have the 2020 FS2 which I've made a few changes too over the past year:
    - Swapped recon for a pike select
    - Swapped sx derailer, shifter and chain for gx
    - Swapped sx casette for nx
    - Swapped to 800mm bars with 35 mm rise
    I haven't really had many cases bottoming out the shock though, even off drops/jumps. I'd just add a bit more air in to it

      @@lucasmacqueen6630 Some people say that due to the custom tune on the shock, the back end doesn't feel as active as other bikes (the compression tune keeps it from soaking up small bumps) Have you found this to be the case, or does it feel fine? Thanks

    Edit: I got my fluid and it's not quite as active as some bikes, but as long as you get the suspension set up well, you won't really notice it. I recommend 20% sag on the front and 30% on the back. This seems to work well for me. I would definitely recommend this bike
    Edit 2: I recommend adding some volume spacers if your planning on hitting larger drops. I can usually hit upto 4 ft drops without bottoming out with a few volume spacers added

    Thanks for the video, there aren't enough! I picked up my fs1 this past December and love it so far. Its my first full squish. My only complaint really is that the bike is very heavy. Wheels and tires alone combine for 10-12lb!

      @andrewfernando5177  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s such an underrated bike in opinion! Should be much more videos on it. Happy to hear your enjoying the bike and it could do with a set of carbon wheels maybe an upgrade for further down the line

      I put custom wheels on mine (EX471 rims with hope pro 4 hubs) not super light, but very durable, and put 2.35 maxxis forcasters on, and it knocked about 1.5kg off the bike, I also did a few other mods, lighter dropper post and seat, 11 speed drivetrain with an alloy oval chainring, and it now weight 13.8kg, I really love this bike and I can't see myself ever selling it, its like a cross between an agile XC bike and a mini enduro bike.

      @@clmfilms8103 I've heard that too, but can't say I've ever noticed it, I think you have to get the shock pressure just right, at 175psi it felt pretty good, then I tried 180psi but it felt a bit harsh, so I went back to 175psi.

    Thanks for the video mate, my local is also Lysty. Had my 2014 Giant Trance stolen, and this bike is up near the top of my list of replacements/upgrades. Also considering a Specialised Stumpjumper Alloy, or Cannondale Habit 4. What other bikes were you considering and what made you settle on this?

    • @andrewfernando5177
      @andrewfernando5177  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear about your biking being stolen :(
      I was also considering the Canyon Neuron 7 and the Polygon Sisku T8. The Fluid was in stock at 99 Bikes and had a really good discount at the time. It was also a bike store bike and that comes with it’s advantages. The spec between the 3 are all pretty similar. I guess it was just the bike in stock and it had the best deal for the spec. I’d say the canyon was a close second at a slightly higher price point.

    • @robnash84
      @robnash84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrewfernando5177 Thanks mate, yeah I also like the look of the Canyon, but I really am not comfortable buying a bike without test riding it. I did manage to test ride the Fluid FS1 on the weekend (at 99bikes) and overall I really liked it. I guess I'm slightly apprehensive about the 120mm travel at the rear, wondering if it'll be enough. I mainly ride Lysterfield, but occasionally find myself all over (Bright, Buxton, Yarra Trails, You Yangs). Do you find the travel is sufficient for you?

      I was also concerned about this at first on the FS1 but I haven’t had any problems climbing, I wouldn’t say it’s the fastest climber but it gets the job done pretty well.

    Ha, knew you were aussie, and a local too! I ride Lyster on occasion. I've got the same bike on order, expecting it in 4 weeks from 99bikes. Where did you get yours from so early? Can I ask how tall you are? The sizing charts for Norco push me into the Large size, I am 174cm and all other bike brands for that height recommend M size, so I ordered the M as well.

    • @andrewfernando5177
      @andrewfernando5177  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the same problem when buying the bike! I’m also around the same height as you at 175cm and I ended up getting the medium after testing both sizes. I also got my bike from 99bikes about a month ago now

      I had to get the headset re-greased as it was creaking. That was done at the bike store at no extra cost. The creak has now come back again and I still need to get that looked at. I also ended up putting in a volume spacer and that helped with the bike bottoming out too much.
