I've had a sendy for the better part of a year now, and it is easily my #1 casual/friendly EDC knife. non-intimidating design, scale tools that I use almost every time I carry it... I could absolutely yap on about it. the ONLY flaw I can mention is that the wood version's scales have a couple of small corners that aren't backed by steel liner, and if you're EDC-ing it, those corners may eventually weaken and crack along the grain (like my first one did). fortunately civivi customer service is great and I got the green/red G10 version you show in the video as a replacement, and it's been a perfect knife for me (for this application) ever since. the wood handle version looks awesome and would make a great gentleman's knife or groomsman/employee gift, but don't wear it in a pocket every day

I picked up the exact same model. I love it lots. Great, non agro updated barlow with tricks. Ben killed this design. It is SLICY. And yeah, my dad carried a barlow. Always. Made this one a must for me. My second from Ben. I love his baby banter so much i spent more on the Ti scales than i did on the knife. And it deserved it.
If they add some more tools, and keep as much of it as one hand opening as possible that would be amazing! Would like to see a thumbstud version too. Why is it so hard to get a 3” SAK styled knife? The Swiza one hand line isn’t imported to the U.K. so I’m out of luck there… Leatherman T like is ok but alot of plastic, would be nice is there was metal replacements for the spacer pieces and a mod to make the blade non locking.

It's a cool knife, but I always carry some form of multitool/multitool knife (usually a SwissChamp) along with a dedicated knife. Best of both worlds, and it pretty much kills this knife for me. This definitely is not an SAK competitor just because they added tweezers and toothpick.

Disagree about the tweezer being ineffective for removing ticks. 10 years ago I went into woods and my whole family cam back with multiple ticks attached. I had a SAK in my glove compartment and got all 7 or 8 ticks off. I now carry a dedicated tweezer set designed for removing ticks whenever going into the woods and spray permethrin all over my boots, socks and legs but i was damn happy to have that little tweezer at the time.
I think Civivi has to include a durable toothpick because these won't be available forever. Civivi models tend to get discontinued after a few years. Replacement SAK plastic toothpicks will be available for as long as Victorinox is in business.
I've had this in my rotation for almost five months. I used to carry the SAK Executive but have left it in the drawer since i got my Sendy. I also always carry my SAK scissors with me still in a card.
The Swiss knife I carry 24/7 is only 2" long closed. Has a tiny blade, a fingernail file, a flat tipped screwdriver on the end of the file, tweezers, the plastic toothpick which I'd much rather have than the enamel scratching steel one. And a pair of spring loaded scissors! What else does an old man need when riding around checking out the scenery or shopping with the Wife or at the Restaurant?
@@sputnikone6281 I've never heard the term Vuzvuz before. Also I'm pretty sure there's a difference between those two. I'm Sefaradi and I don't follow Mizrachi traditions. Sure, we both use Edut HaMizrach, but we don't have the same customs.
Thing looks awesome. I've ran the Gamut with knives & come full circle back to Swiss Army Knives. Those tweezers look excellent & would very much appreciate an update on the o.e.m. Swiss ones as they are too flexible for most the tasks I'd like to use them for. I like the metal toothpick too, I rarely use the nylon toothpick fer toothpicking & the metal one looks like it'd be great for splinters, and general light duty pick work.
I’ve always had the best luck removing splinters or metal slivers with just a thin and sharp blade, my SAK tinkers small blade is sharpened to a 17 degree edge on an already thin blade(only intended for the finest/lightest tasks). I like my Benchmade proper that I put a finer edge on, but I pair that with a prybar/driver because it’s only function is cutting(adding a toothpick/tweezer combo to a single blade knife with no tools isn’t what I’m looking for…I have to give Civivi and the other companies props for putting a blade lock on a “traditional” ish style knife though👍🏻). MKM and another company I can’t think of make SAK style knives with better materials and sometimes tool options, still no locking blades and pricey though.
for a budget folding pocket knife D2 is god mode steel ...cant beat it for under 30 bucks ....... not user friendly hard to sharpen and takes oiling after each use but the edge retention is miles better than any other budget steel. Personally my love of D2 got me into DC53 which I like more ... less edge retention but its far tougher and easier to sharpen. and CTS-XHP and Sleipner all D2 variants.
Seems like people aren’t a fan. It’s not like a Sebenza or a Leatherman but I love the story behind it and it’s a perfect little edc. SAKs dont have pocket clips and are non-locking so it’s hard to hate on this thing. Way to go Ben and Aaron I like this one too! Cheers
I think part of it is the video title. Comparing things to the sacred SAK is good for views and engagement, but it strikes a negative nerve for some folks who have never tried it. I’m glad you like it!
Grrrr….MUST….REFUTE……THUMBNAIL. Haha, good point. Story and heart behind the design is what sets your gear apart from the crowd of blades. Remember, stay equipped, stay prepared, and we’ll see you on the moon amigos! (Aaron/knafs collab?!?)
Well, if you learn how to use a kick on slipjoints you don't really need a lock, as long as you don't live in London and you're getting into knife fights all the time. Just my 2 cents
@@benbanters Personally, I think you should probably go with some form of lock, because that's what sells. A kick is the part that sticks out from the tang of the blade (on a Victorinox this is where the stamp is). You put your finger there and if it has any pressure that will close the knife, the backspring kicks it back open.
Great looking blade with toothpick and tweezers! Maybe not a SAK killer but I don’t carry one regularly anyway. I would carry this in my pocket all day. I have a small tool pouch with bigger multi tool with pliers, scissors, etc.
I just got the Swiss Tech Haltbar fixed blade from Walmart.. I had to see how good it really was for under $50. Kind of amazing. I hope Aaron will review it on the channel so we can see it really put through its paces.
There are aftermarket toothpicks for SAK’s that are less than the MSRP of this, so I’m not sure that’s a good selling point. The knife itself is pretty cool, though.
Perfect in my opinion for an EDC urban or rural setting. I'm looking for a replacement for my SOG Terminus XR (which has given up the ghost after a long hard run). I'll be looking into this one.
Tweezers and toothpick are pretty high on the scale for me. I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Would probably prefer a cheaper steel and they drop that price down for a simple edc.
Love the blade and tweezers. They need a non locking version with a can opener and pry tool that’s as slim as the Victorinox Cadet. THEN it would be a great EDC tool.
It's an interesting update on a sak, but sak,s are popular as there cheap, easy to maintain & are legally compliant in most of the world. The lock would be problematic in many countries.
Nice looking knife, not terribly priced. Like you say, some companies are getting out of control in pricing, beyond inflation rates and I’m sitting it out and enjoying what I’ve got.
Seems like a cool little knife. The tweezers and toothpick are a nice addition, but a SAK is more than just those plus a blade. I don't think it's going to take over the market anytime soon. Might replace a little EDC single blade pocket knife, though.
Please REVIEW the small Cabela's $6 dollar multi-tool. It has pliers, saw, knife, scissors and other tools. ✅ I was surprised how strong this multi-tool is !
I carry a folder and an SAK Fieldmaster every day as part of my edc routine. I could see rotating in this knife as my folder because I do like Civivi products but it could never replace the fieldmaster I always have on me. That's not a toothpick it's more of a light duty punch I have to say, and without scissors or screwdriver or saw capability, multitool that knife is not.
I like the innovation here... I agree with other commenters that it doesn't have enough tools to threaten a Victorinox Swiss Champ or other models, but this is a good idea. Tweezers are useful, but I don't mess with the toothpicks. At any rate, I have a question about the Knafs Lander 1 you flashed. That's a smallish knife. How do you like that knife for someone who has large hands? Sorry to go off topic... Thanks!
8:18 States people may retire their Swiss army knife, mentions what this tool won't have, says to carry another tool. Man it's a cool knife but other than possibly 1-2 better "scale tools" I think this was a lot of time spent on what is basically just a knife. No disrespect and I recently discovered your channel, but it comes down to what you need, cost, quality, and the best viable tool for the job. So if you just need a knife, then OK this one looks pretty great.
Good review, I like it . The toothpick could be magnetized & used for a compass needle or a lock pick . You can always carve a twig to pick your grill clean. Just knowing its a civivi is enough for me to trust the tool. If it had a good saw It would be sak killer.. possibly. Im definitely relieved it dosent have a bottle opener , which I consider a waste of space on any knife.
The #1 reason I have Victorinox scattered everywhere is for their scissors. Best compact scissors on the market, hands down. This tool won't replace them.

1. excellent review. 2. I relate a dispute I had with the famous Ron Hood about 40 years ago before the Leatherman tool concept. All that was available with tools would have been an offering from SAK. He wanted a saw blade. I wanted a pair of scissors as my experience was that I needed to trim nails, trim materials and clean out under finger and toe nails. So, I investigated which was the least expensive offering that had both a scissors and a saw. Of course, the unit would also have the tweezers and the toothpick. It turned out to be the Huntsman. 3. When the government started seizing pocket knives at airports, it was a field day on acquiring knives. I ended up up with at least a couple dozen used which I refurbished. In fact the Great Recession of 2008-2009 yield a lot of good buys of used knives to restore. (When you assert that the US is in a recession, just check the used prices of knives on eBay - no fella, there are no distress sales.)
Very intriguing knife! Personally, I'd take out the toothpick and make enough room to put a SAK pen in its place. Kinda wish it had Scissors or something, and then it could replace my Keychain Sak. Otherwise, nice looking flipper knife! Maybe it will get an update with more tools sometime
Its a grear knife but it doesnt come close to replacing my swiss army knife that has way more tools. The Ranger and handyman are my two all tine favorite SAK's. They have the two blades, saw, file, and scissors along with the standard flat head and can opener philllps as well as the extra back tools. The handyman aslonhas the small pliers. I carry the handyman daily and the Ranger when I want a snaller package. I also have a few other smaller knee if I just want a smaller knife. I also like being avle to just throw them in my pocket. The only thing I dint like about SAK's is they arent quick on the draw. Its akways nice when you can just wip out your pocket clip one handed opening knife use it and quickly slip it back. That said I doubt I will ever stop carrying my SAK.
Its a very nice knife. I mean its a great looking knife and I do have a few like it, but when it comes to practicality... FOR ME and what I need - NOTHING BEATS SAK. The knifes like this I have I mostly use for fidgeting. Actually in videos like yours - you never see these knifes actually used for a while, like 2-3 years of heavy use. Dirty scratched, chiped... I just canot imagine spreading peanut butter on a sandwitch or do some dirty work with a knife like this :-D. It would just feel weird. SAK never ever rusts. You just rince it and its ready to go :-D. Steel toothpick? Its like a nail. I do not think its good for your teeth to scratch them with steel. You can buy 10 plastic toothpicks that are surprysingly durrable and they do not destroy your teeth. I love them. Looks and tweesers - you are probalbly right those are better :-).
Thanks for the video! Nothing can become even a warning sign to victorinox until they learn how to make scissors at least of the same quality. Yes there are interesting knives and solutions out there, but they don’t replace, they can come in addition. Imho
Steel toothpick OOF! Looks good though, than you consider the size and usage for regular folk it is meh knife. Victorinox got it well just make it from better steel clip, maybe a backlock (or similar thin lock type), that would be something.
I use my toothpick for two things mainly: Cleaning my teeth, and for picking dust out of charging ports. A steel toothpick should not be used for either. So for me this would compete with every other pocket knife, not a pocket tool/SAK. Btw. My head didn't explode (I really hate this kind of overdramatic titles that doesn't deliver)
this is a cool tool, and tweezers are a good thing to have, but for ticks, you should really carry a tick key. they are small, cheap, and do a much better job of extracting the whole tick. I have carried them for years, and removed countless ticks with them. this is the second time today I have seen that folding sharpener. Neeves did a quick review of it, with a sharpening demo. now I want one ;P
Add a pocket clip. A removable pocket clip so that the traditionalists can remove it if they like. I have the swiss soldier's knife and it would absolutely be my primary EDC if it had a pocket clip. It's not uber slim/lightweight, but neither are other classics like the cold steel recon 1. I even tried using their keyring thingy and letting it attach to the lanyard ring on the knife. It was obnoxious. Add freakin' pocket clips!

Ha! Amazing. Thanks for the support. 🙏
I'm a plus scales guy... I need the pen and pin as well..... good to see them entering the market though.... but for now I'm still with SAK....
Scissors, bottle opener, can opener...
It needs a couple more features but it is an excellent start
You can always sharpen up a stick an make your own toothpick, but a metal one of this size is more useful as an awl.
I love the inclusion of scale tools so much, I wish more designers did this! Great review, brother! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If they add some more tools, and keep as much of it as one hand opening as possible that would be amazing!
Would like to see a thumbstud version too.
Why is it so hard to get a 3” SAK styled knife?
The Swiza one hand line isn’t imported to the U.K. so I’m out of luck there…
Leatherman T like is ok but alot of plastic, would be nice is there was metal replacements for the spacer pieces and a mod to make the blade non locking.
How is this a replacement for a proper SAK?
Check out the Olight OKS2....Roxon OEM made for Olight. Im a sak guy and replaced my sak for the past month with a OKS2. One hand opening of the blade and back tools. Best scissors ive ever used on a pocket tool and has tweezers. Awl is amazing and even has a saw. Some reviews note a back button rattle ....I did too but a drop of oil solved that...was meant to be oiled and ships without.
It's a cool knife, but I always carry some form of multitool/multitool knife (usually a SwissChamp) along with a dedicated knife. Best of both worlds, and it pretty much kills this knife for me.
This definitely is not an SAK competitor just because they added tweezers and toothpick.
I prefer plastic toothpick, better for enamel, tastes better in the mouth.
Will the SAK toothpick fit in the Civivi toothpick socket?
I will checl
great video, ive had my eye on this knife for a couple weeks, glad you did a review, really liked the idea of putting a hole in the toothpick

I like the slip joint barlow vibes. It seems great for a minimalist/summer edc. I'm sold.
You should check out the new Lander 4 fix blade when it comes out
Disagree about the tweezer being ineffective for removing ticks.
I really like the plastic toothpick. I'd be afraid to put that metal one in between my teeth.
I think Civivi has to include a durable toothpick because these won't be available forever. Civivi models tend to get discontinued after a few years. Replacement SAK plastic toothpicks will be available for as long as Victorinox is in business.
Well may be he should use the sak owl as a tooth pick, he will like it obviously
Swiss has plastic and yes, I have a metal toothpick in this grenade necklace and it's too hard on the teeth.
@@stonefox9124if it’s hard on your teeth, you’re being far to aggressive.
Isn’t metal better from a hygiene point and more durable?
I love this knife.. I went with drop point and Micarta though
I've had this in my rotation for almost five months. I used to carry the SAK Executive but have left it in the drawer since i got my Sendy. I also always carry my SAK scissors with me still in a card.
That’s cool feedback. Thanks for the support!

Also I'm pretty sure there's a difference between those two. I'm Sefaradi and I don't follow Mizrachi traditions. Sure, we both use Edut HaMizrach, but we don't have the same customs.
Thanks for including price into. Knife reviews that omit that are becoming a real pet peeve.
O’Tom tick twister. Removing ticks with tweezers likely dislodges its head buried inside the epidermis.
Personally my love of D2 got me into DC53 which I like more ... less edge retention but its far tougher and easier to sharpen.
and CTS-XHP
and Sleipner
all D2 variants.
Never had any trouble sharpening d2
@@Benzion-x3q tell me more about this kick.
Nice knife blade but hardly a swiss army knife tools wise. More like a nice folder with tweezers and toothpick.
Not sure how I missed this video! I definitely see this knife as a good carry choice for me, just may have to try it out.
Nope head did not explode and not even interested
Dang😉‼️
Watch it 3 more times. Head explosion happens with time. 🤯
@@benbantersno thanks... I choose life...
And yet, here you are. SMH.
Same not really digging it
The leatherman t4 smokes that knife
Tweezers and toothpick are pretty high on the scale for me. I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Would probably prefer a cheaper steel and they drop that price down for a simple edc.
Love the blade and tweezers. They need a non locking version with a can opener and pry tool that’s as slim as the Victorinox Cadet. THEN it would be a great EDC tool.
I already carry tactical zombie slayer tweezers that have T45 screws and a tweezing choil. I’m good.
I’d love to see that same knife with a saw. I think it’s a great first entry and am anxious to see what additions Civiv brings to this design.
It's an interesting update on a sak, but sak,s are popular as there cheap, easy to maintain & are legally compliant in most of the world. The lock would be problematic in many countries.
I have a black one for a few months now. Great tool, be careful with the toothpick, you'll poke your gums.
Yeah that thing looks like it could qualify as a reamer.
I’ve had mine for a few months and I love it. Highly recommend.
Great to hear!
Nice looking knife, not terribly priced. Like you say, some companies are getting out of control in pricing, beyond inflation rates and I’m sitting it out and enjoying what I’ve got.
I'd carry SAK a lot more if they would put a bloody pocket clip on some of the models. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels that way.
Also, Remette knives makes a nice looking, premium knife with a toothpick pull out, if that’s your jam.
I had to snag the wood version. Very utilitarian! ❤
Done with CIVIVI'S but this one has my interest!
I carry a Fieldmaster everyday and I think I will keep carrying a Fieldmaster everyday
I dig the idea, story, design and looks very much. However, I can’t see it replacing the Farmer X, Huntsman or Woodsman as my choice for the outdoors.
One step closer to a Civivi multitool! Nice… thanks for the vid. Have a great day!!!
I've always liked the look of the Civivi knives. May need to buy one. :)
Yap, sure, cute! But a much better alternative to SAK is the Ruike LD line...
Got an Elementum laying in a drawer I never use and this would end up there too.
So a pocket knife with tweezers and a toothpick. I prefer sak, screwdriver can and botle opener, scissors. Etc
Looks like a cool edc gift for the holidays
The #1 reason I have Victorinox scattered everywhere is for their scissors. Best compact scissors on the market, hands down. This tool won't replace them.
Their scissors are quite legit

I have heard the same thing
@@gideonstactical if I'm lucky enough to find one. I will let you know. Thank you.
1. excellent review.
Wanna sell one of them?🙂
Very intriguing knife! Personally, I'd take out the toothpick and make enough room to put a SAK pen in its place.
Kinda wish it had Scissors or something, and then it could replace my Keychain Sak. Otherwise, nice looking flipper knife! Maybe it will get an update with more tools sometime
Stitching a wound 2:11 ? Naw man
Its a grear knife but it doesnt come close to replacing my swiss army knife that has way more tools.
Looks and tweesers - you are probalbly right those are better :-).
nice tool, not a SAK killer. I keep a SwissChamp in the glove box, would not replace it with anything.
P.S. I have other tools in the car for heavier tasks if needed.
Cool design, good price and I like the sharpener too
Definitely interested in this knife!
A steel toothpick is a pretty bad idea. But theres a crap load of other things you can use that toothpick for
Thanks for the video!
Nice blade but I don’t like liner locks so I’ll pass.
You might like a Swiza Swiss army knife. It's another one that is made in Switzerland.
He tested one some years back. Thing's a joke
Ben and Zac do no wrong!
My Cybertool smirks in a sexy way
Friendly advice, use hand sanitizer for ticks tweezers, even quality ones, can leave the head causing further problems
Right on thanks!
Liner lock is the weakest feature. Love the tweezers and tooth pick.
Why would that even be a concern on a small folding pocket knife?
Hi Gideon tactical, I carry Victorinox ranger grip designs, have several, I would like the ability to add accessories instead if swapping out, had to remove the toothpick and replace it with the ferro rod, add better protection to the cork screw in order to protect the fire ant fire starter accessories and finally a small flashlight similar to the one PC Doodles makes it’s called the “FLASHY 3.0” and my friend it’s awesome, which I have on my Leatherman ARC! Loving your channel my friend, STRENGTH AND HONOR, be well. 👍🏽💯❤️🙏🙏
Almost a great design. It needs scissors, at least from my perspective. Also, a non-metallic toothpick would be great.
