I know this is way late, but here are some stats I gathered that hopefully everyone will find interesting/helpful. I did 4 dungeon runs apiece in each of the 4 main areas (Ruins, Warrens, Weald, Cove) and kept track of every attack on my party that had a single target only. I did not factor in any enemy attacks that had multiple targets. All 16 runs were champion level runs. Here are the results by row- Row 4: 29 attacks- 9.96 % Row 3: 56 attacks- 19.24 % Row 2: 89 attacks- 30.58 % Row 1: 117 attacks- 40.20 % I was attacked a total of 291 times, so I took an average of 18 single attacks per run. Also, I used a different party composition in all 16 runs and used every class in the game except the arbalest (I used the musketeer)
Left brain: Is DD still relevant? Right brain: Nope Medulla oblongata: Challenge gives time purpose, n this game is perfect for our seudo-masochistic vices.
I rage-quitted when my best team got massacred by the Shambler. I've spent so many gold to do their quirks in the Sanitarium, Lesson learned: don't be greedy and try the Shambler after doing the boss.
Friendly reminder that you can flee fights and abandon quests when things are going south with heroes you value too much to sacrifice Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
I rate quit abd then pick up the game every 2-3 years lol. I am on my third run and have finally learned to diversify across many heroes to avoid the temptation inevitable A team death. You almost don’t “need” an A team if you just build up many heroes and have 2-4 heroes of the classes that make up the A team.
I literally feel like I'm in college again taking a course on DD because I've just been soaking up so much info since I bought it 3 days ago. Who knew my compulsive $5.99 purchase would have so many strings attached?
I do not know HOW the wife and I missed this, but we were glad we got to see this and discuss it before we went to bed. Appreciate the DD education as always Sir.
Iv just got this game a few days ago and iv fell in love with flagellant-1, occultist-2, jester-3 and Plage doc-4 Edit: feels like a good team that can handle most situations Flagellant has bleed on hit, take bleed off Team and both his big heals Occultist has stab, heal, debuff and pull Jester has both bleeds, stress heal and buff Plage doc has front line blight, heal, stun and grenade
Hi shuffle, I am new to DD and your channel has become my go to. I have been avoiding guides to develop my own strategies but started having a lot of issues at champion. I think my main weakness is game knowledge which hinders my ability to make effective parties for specific challenges. So thanks I think I learned the value of stuns and I watched your tierlist which gave me some ideas on what made strong moves. But I learned most of what is in the video on my own! So I recommend playing through yourself to anyone. Thanks for the guide.
at 22:40 when deciding what to do with those last couple of turns before the last bandit bled out the flagellant should’ve reclaimed on the vestal because reclaim can crit you could’ve gotten a tiny bit of stress off if you were lucky
Prot should be a linear scale or something like that, so yeah stacking it can be really good. Now I'm curious about a high prot team vs the cannon lol.
@@ShuffleFM true. Though I guess each point of prot makes HP more valuable, so we'd need to use a bit more math to check if it was better to go HP or Prot there.
@@weizizhang8532 Well, as shuffle said, it should be a linear scale. But for very low amounts, that should be true, yes, there is not really a point in increasing from 1 percent to 2 percent.
@@ShuffleFM actually, Prot gets MORE effective the more you have. Consider this: to double your "effective health" you have to get from 0% Prot to 50% Prot (so you take half DMG, therefor doubeling your defensive capability against physical DMG). However, to now further double your effective health, you only have to get 25% Prot on top of the 50% you already have (since you then take only 25% DMG, quadrupeling your defense). Health does of course also scale with your Prot, but getting more HP is rather hard in DD. Assuming 50% Prot from trinkets and the guard-Skill on your MAA, "barristans head" would double your defense with its 25% Prot, while the ancestral bottle only adds 25% HP, which is only 25% more effective health. Ofc there are more things to consider, like how dots ignore Prot, healing your hero is more effective when he uses Prot rather than high HP, and so on. But as a rule of thumb i would suggest that if you want to use Prot, use a lot of it.
I think you're not valuing endure high enough on the flaggelant. It does cause stress on him but essentially you gain, what is it, 5-7- stress heal of it. The goal isn't to stress him out but rather to take away the stress peaks. -% stress and +%stress heal is very powerful on him if you want to get value out of endure. It seems to me that you could've switched restore for endure in this dungeon.
@@ShuffleFM Though I'll admit that it's situational. My recent bloodmoon flag had photomania and steady, I geared him with the +stress heal scroll (shambler trinket) and aria's box (-25% stress) This put the heals at 17-18 and the stress damage at 3. Essenially making him a jester. Though then I itemized for it :)
I use flagellant on medium-long missions as a stress healer-bleeder.Then on campfires i use the -50 stress to get him back..If he ends up with stress or afflicted, then its ok you throw him into the church,he ends up saving you money in the long run...I dont know if that strategy is the best on flaggellant,i dont use the blight/bleed trasmitting skills so much(cause i m a coward),but i should so i can learn the game
Thank you mane I’ve been playing this game for awhile but I’ve never seemed to get past lv3 missions. I’ve never beat the game n I’ve had to restart my campaign twice due to losing all my rank 4s to the miller.
The miller run ruins my parties, I advice not to delve there if you have a hard time with the other sectors already. Iy didn't totally ruin me because I'm prone to accumulating a lot of characters in the rooster and it got rid of people so I can get better characters in the stagecoach lol.
nice video , i learned alot ....i wish you had much more editing on this video would make the video much much more appealing .... needs some editing like showing the area and best comb and quirks and stuff
Just subscribe to you yesterday bro and iv watched so many of you're vids great stuff, but wanted to ask are you gonna do any guides for the modded classes? I got mods working on the switch version recently and I'm having a hard time building comps with the classes I no nothing about lol ?
That level of planning to start in is why I think this game has never truly clicked for me. "I feel like using _____" is a thought that I feel like the game punishes once you hit champion. And variety wasted on weak (or I guess overly niche is more accurate) options leaves a bad taste in my mouth lmao at the oh no I have the wrong move set. God how many times has that happened to all of us.
I think the "I feel like using" strategy usually works just fine for me. Keep in mind I only play on the normal mode. If I choose a character I want to use, I customize the mission and the team to suit it. However it doesn't work with everything.
I understand this video was a while ago however, the first two times I did Vvulf on different play throughs I barely beat him with a safe Jester/Vestal combo. However, when I decided to use a comp that gave me my first champion dungeon completion called "The Headhunters" Vestal / Houndmaster / Bounty Hunter / Man-at-Arms I beat him in 3 turns. I thought I just got lucky with a big crit so I downloaded the addon that allows bosses to be killed again, and I beat him in 2 turns that time.
Not taking the vestal with double anti-human traits and overall stress reduction? Off Guard aint great but it's not the end of the world. And since it's a boss mission, off guard won't matter very much for the only fight that does matter.
I would have to see the other vestal again but from what you told me I'm not too worried about stress reduction on a short mission for a completed file.
old video i know, but I'm asking this just to become a better player, is there a reason why at around 35:42 when your plague doctor was being targeted, you didnt swap the vestel and the plague doctor? I've never fought this boss so I assume its like the prophet and the bomb doesn't follow you, and i dont know if there's any position issues that would harm the vestel or plague for being one space forward and one back respectively, allowing you to not need to guard again the turn after There could be a ton of problems though, which is why I'm asking. Chances are someone already asked and im just blind though haha
Hey, I'm happy you asked about that since no one has yet :) From what I can tell my line of thought was that PDs turn was more valuable to me than MAAs. The bombs do so much damage that stacking guard with MAA is likely the best use of his time, but getting a bolster in there would have been nice too.
@@ShuffleFM I see, I agree PDs turn is really valuable but if I'm being honest... I've never played with a MAA before ^^' not sure if that's a sin. Glad you answered! I'll put this knowledge to good use

My flagelent got ruins phobe and I was just like "honestly my dude you can just keep that trait". Lul bleed vs skeles.
I unironically use flagellant in ruins quite often. I usually run punish/rain of sorrows, redeem, reclaim and endure. I use him as a main healer

does it? I always thought it is the other way around. bc even 1% prot wil reduce the damage by 1.
