This channel does my heart good young man, great energy. I'm 68 yrs young and was an avid car guy here in California. I was all about working on my 55-57's, and was car poor most of the time back in the 60's. After a while I worked my way to some nova's and 64, 65 chevelles. I sure appreciate your hard work and love of the great older cars, you have an old spirit, and that is good. Thanks for the work and the videos.
Had one just like your back in the late 70's paid 150 dollars for it work on it 2 day's drove it home it was the first car l restored it was a great driving car , put it back all stock , it look like the old grocery getter , l would take it out for drive on Sunday morning on the interstate in Charleston Wv that 283 like to run , always had some one that you want to race those were the day's thanks for sharing your talents, brought back good memories
Great job on the progress! Keep it up, you are moving right along. Your '57 is in great shape and it seems to be going back together very well. Thanks for sharing your build with us. It will be great to see this one back on the road. Keep the updates coming please.
So glad to see people save the four door cars. They earned their place and it might not get you a date if your sixteen but any woman who sees it will love it as the kids are buckled in and mom can do it without fighting the seat being folded in half. I drove the hell out of them and now wouldn't have anything else. Course I'm 72 so who give a shit what a old man has to say. I can see that you have put a few back on the road as the work says it all ... good video
There are front hubs you can buy ($200) that take roller bearings rather than the crappy ball bearings that are original. You save long term because the ball bearings are like $85.
You are coming right along. You didn't make the same mistake as me with the brake lines. I put my motor and trans in, then started replacing the brake lines. I am having a bitch of a time trying to hold a wrench on both sides of the frame with the motor in my way. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
Great video! That '57 is looking sharp!! I also notice how well the doors close. Sounds solid like it did when new. One of my favorite colors for the tri- fives..I also miss the two- tone paint schemes from those days. Some cars had three colors!!!! Yeah, those dog legs, toe kick panels, trunk floors and front fenders up top right at the headlights would rot out pretty bad. You're kicking it pretty good, so keep up the great work!!!!!
reminds me of the 57 belair 2 door i owned back in the early 80's.....nearly killed myself drag racing it in 83.....but yes..thats gonna be a beautiful and rare car when its finished.
I would not worry about putting the rad support and grille in until you put the engine in that way the engine will go straight in and you will have better clearance to get to everything then put the front end back together
Thanks for sharing! Car is coming along fast! You make it look easy. 👍 But its Not! That will be one cool more door when done! Upgrading the heads on my 56! Have it in pieces at the moment. Should be wrenching on it. But I'm here watching you work. 😂 🤘
Hey bro, 57 coming together good. Starting to look like a roller. Did you figure out what motor you're going to put into it yet? Keep them coming. Love the old shoebox builds. Later
Perfect combo for that heavy ass 57. I had the same in my last 57 and it pull that around fine. You don't need a big block in a cruiser to make you happy. A good running 350 will make mama very happy. Keep them coming. Later

Also, the ball bearing idle arm is worth the $$$
Yeah I just wanna get it on the road with what I have then do do some upgrades

the car came with a 350/th350 trans. I'll be picking that up later this week.

great skills, it will be a real nice driver. What engine will you be using ?
just a small block chevy
Looks the same as my garage, usually takes me 10 minutes to find the right size wrench.
Paint it factory blue again to match the original...
looking good 100%
thanks!
Great job with the car so far! Any plans on doing something other than chevys?
yeah id love too but other stuff is real pricey out here
You should of used a dual reservoir master cylinder for safety those single's are scary if you ever lose your brakes
Brother what you going to do for an engine in the 57 are you going to go back with a 283 in a Powerglide or are you going modern
Where u find the 57
used on the internet
Are you leaving the patina or painting the 57?
do you do this type of work for a living? Thanks
Nope, This is just a hobby

Maybe you should converted to a two door .
Very entertaining, but you're a bad influence...you got me looking around for cars in boxes. My wife is soooo ticked 😂
Robin, find something that your wife really wants and get it for her when you drag your project car home....LOL.
haha sorry about that. there's worse addictions out there
Keep t four door
