When I got my 55 it was an abandoned project with a lot of never used panels. What was left of the original outer rockers was enough to mount the doors and set the gaps. All the bracing was removed the two piece replacement floor pans were installed horribly without the bracing. I was able to install the new outers and use them as a reference for the bracing and floor pans. I used everything that came with the car even the pans that were welded in just cut all the bad welds and cleaned them up. A new one piece floor would of been easier but where's the fun in that. The gaps are tight but even so they look good.

It’s awesome to read a success story! All too many times these projects go from one home to another with little to no actual “good” work ever being completed.
      Great story, thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your work, great detail on the corner panel, I've been there working on 70 Chevy Truck, yep you beat me on that project. :)

You bet! I’ve got more coming on the 70 C-10 here, soon.

Would you consider slowing down the speed of the fast forward segments down some? It makes the video hard to watch, and I really would like to watch the work you do.

I certainly will on the next rockers I replace. Thanks for the suggestion!

Cars Inc makes quarter panels and they are not painted. They also sell imported quarter panels and they are painted. Cars uses original thickness steel and I wonder why so many people go for the imports? The time spent in fitting is going to be even if you could find a set from 1958 that GM had on a shelf. I just am appalled by everyone having to rework panel widths to get proper fitment and the imports seem notorious for this. Dynacorn is a product I would never waste my time with after seeing Camaro quarter panels and how they are stamped. A blind man could do a better job.

There are definitely good and really really bad panels out there. I’ve had good luck with both AMD and Dynacorn, but that may just be the cars I’ve been buying for.
Thanks for sharing the Cars, Inc. brand and for watching!

So for us trying to restore one of these cars and we watch your videos, time lapse shows us nothing. If you want us to watch, actually show us how you do the work. Thumbs down.

I get what you are saying, however not all of my videos are a “how to” sometimes I’m just trying to share what is going on in the shop and trying to get work done. Thanks for watching though.
