      I know I'm late but most of this moves doesn't require that core strength , indeed the core is still active in this moves but mostly it's about back, shoulders , arms

      @Christina Reynolds I do street workout myself and I still agree with you. Too many people in the sport act high & mighty when comparing their training to other fields. It's really obnoxious. Not everyone likes the same things and more calisthenic athletes need to respect that.

    Absolutely epic. . What a sport. . I've been training calisthenics for about 2 months and am already making progress. It will take years to get to that level, but that is my goal and I am determined to get there. . My only slight concern is that I'm 35. . I wish I had discovered this 10 or 15 years ago. . No excuses though I will prove you can do this into your 40's and beyond!! :)

    Thank you for the request! I have a short leg section in one of my videos but I will be adding A LOT more in the future. Basically the sprints you're doing is great, but work on the explosive. If you're looking for explosive power for the legs, keep each exercise short and to the max. Meaning if you sprint, each stride has to be as powerful as possible. Include box jumps, long jumps, running jumps. When hopping, NEVER stick the landing. Instantly recoil at full power. I'll do a tutorial soon!

    Is it me or did Frank Medrano look like the only one doing something useful there? i see a lot of momentum and very, very skinny legs... i hope that one day calisthenics will focus more on overall strength, not just cool tricks and leg day skippers as it seems (and before you start hating, i do calisthenics for 2 years along with 6 years of running and especially sprinting experience... i know stuff)

    • @calimove

      +Daniël Klein Nibbelink It's only you. I see one arm pull ups, Frontlevers, Backlevers, Flags, Muscle Ups & Planches and only a little bit of bar hopping. What's with the guy @ 4:44 min? His one arm pull ups are really impressive. Or with Zef doing 32kg Muscle Ups or Niroc....There are so many strong people in this video.

    • @henkdedikkesteen
      @henkdedikkesteen 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didnt say they arent strong... their movements are incredible, i know because i can't do that many one-arm pull ups lol... The thing is, i hoped to see more full-body movement that involves leg excersises, because it seems some of them have extremely skinny legs. By the way, your reply shows that you really take the time to speak with your viewers, which is extremely cool, thanks :)

    • @calimove
      @calimove  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Medrano also don't do any leg exercises in this video :) I am also not a huge fan of Bar hopping but the biggest part of this video is about strength moves. Yes you won't see any leg exercises here because it's not impressive to see pistol or archer squats, jumps etc. Some of the guys in the video do serious leg training some not.

    • @henkdedikkesteen
      @henkdedikkesteen 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol no but since he is pretty famous i have seen him doing some... The 'bar hopping' is what i meant, not really showing strength... The reason i posted my previous comment is because it is a common stereotype that these people aren't actually showing strength because of the lack of weight on their legs, but part of that is true... i just hope that one day we will find some fancy insane leg movements, lol... maybe box jumps? :P

    Hey ~ Do you guys suggest going to the gym first to build adequate strength and fix any body dysfunction first ? ~ and then start training calisthenics ? or just jumping right into basic calisthenics exercises ? (if there are any lol)

    I'm very intriqued by this info! Would you mind sharing your training routine for legs, I am practicing on jumps and sprint too :)
    And I also have insanely strong legs from calisthenics, they're more enduring and not THAT explosive though, yet I do bodybuilding, calisthenics and climbing currently too :) So pleeeeeeeaaasee share :D

    Write it in the description if you don't want people asking. Not everybody searches through 150 comments just to see if somebody has named the song they want to find.
    Incredible vid though.

    It's nice that you guys seem to have a considerable amount of strength. On the other hand, most of the movements are performed with very bad form, especially the static holds, for ex. the handstand and lever variations. Most of them are performed with arched back and bent elbows, making the movements much easier en less appealing. To me, that is a sign of unbalanced strength development, since in this way you compensate for the lack of strength in a particular body area with strength in another.

    I know what you mean, but when you're doing calisthenics, you're training your body to basically carry its own weight. So the more you do calisthenics, the better your body becomes at controlling itself. Whereas with weights, your body adapts to using outside forces. And also, calisthenics focuses on the entire body's strength all together, whereas weight lifting usually focuses on an individual body part, and the weight of the body part increases too.
