From growing up in South London to the multiple unsuccessful trials and plans to give up playing, I signed my first professional contract with Crystal Palace a few months before my 22nd birthday. In 1991 I signed for Arsenal Football Club where I scored 185 goals in 288 appearances. I went on to play 581 league games, scoring 387 goals for seven clubs in England and Scotland, earning 33 caps for the English national team.
I am now fortunate enough to have a football broadcast career working for the BBC & ITV.
    Some Career Achievements:
185 goals in 288 appearances for Arsenal (2nd all time leading goal scorer)
117 goals in 253 starts for Crystal Palace (leading post war goal scorer)
33 caps for England Men’s National Team
    Premier League Winner (Arsenal): 97/98
Premier League Golden Boot (Arsenal): 91/92
    FA Cup (Arsenal) : 92/93, 97/98
    European Cup Winners' Cup (Arsenal): 93/94 #IanWright #Football #Arsenal

We was like an advanced level Burnley style team before he came. @ismail adam I can tell you're probably mid to late 20's, only know Wenger's Arsenal, and know f**k all about anything before that. First off, heard of Marc Overmars and Robin van Persie? That Invincible team was very good, but I'd still take the 98' team over them. And even ex Man Utd players have said, that Arsenal team was the best they'd come up against (And unlike the invincible team, they actually beat Man Utd, not once, but twice). Bergkamp was the start of the revival at Arsenal, believe me, he was a mega signing at the time, Arsenal fans could not believe their luck, especially because the season before his arrival we finished 12th in the league and looked like we were going backwards. Arsenal had the basis of a good team before Wenger took over, he just added the right pieces to the puzzle.

There is only one Bergkamp, but people always say vdBeek is the new Bergkamp, player from Ajax, hè also show it in the Champions League, Arsenal should sign him.
Always great players from the Ajax youth, Unuvar now in our youth shows every game things that we only saw from Bergkamp. PremierL only can buy buy but Ajax is special they make champions in the youth, almost got in the Final CL last year with alot of own youth players you dont see that anymore now a days..

Still my favourite player to watch in the Premier League with the ball at his feet. Even as a Liverpool fan, I used to get hyped watching him play. Not a great goalscorer, but a scorer of great goals. His link up play with both Wright and Henry allowed them to be top boys in front of goal. Capable of absolute magic and had one of the best touches I've ever seen. I miss seeing dedicated #10-type players like him, Baggio, Laudrup, Del Piero, Kaka, Zola, Prosinecki, Rui Costa, Rivaldo, etc. It's a shame Ozil lost all motivation since being forced out of Real Madrid, a shame that Utd ruined Mata by putting him out on the wing, a shame that Coutinho pushed for a move away from Liverpool just as he was approaching the peak of his powers...

When it comes to beautiful one touch football Arsenal is still the best. Barcelona's latest one-touch was great as well but Arsenal's pace was insane. I'm from Germany and I was a little jealous. England may have lacked penalty shoot-out skills but the Premiere League was the greatest show on Earth in that time⚽️👌🏿
