That's a boat to be proud of for sure. I'm just restoring a 1962 Sabre Craft that is 17ft. long. I am putting a new Suzuki Outboard on it. I really enjoyed your video and watched it clear through because it was interesting, and I know how it helps small channels stats. Keep doing what you love. 😁
Nice Job, making anything yourself is so rewarding. In this day and age few people actually make anything, so well done. I help out on coracle building courses, and it is so rewarding to help people create their own water craft, such a great thing to inspire other people to try as well.
Great job Wayne. Have any of the other guys who did the class with you, rigged the skiff for sailing? (I'm partial to that.) I'm surprised oar locks and a rowing seat are not designed in. Or is that an option in the plans? With my Crawford Melonseed Skiff, there are oar locks, and an optional rowing seat. I also rigged a battery and a small kayak trolling motor which has greatly increased our launching location options. Thank you for sharing your build. I love it!
Most of the other guys were planning to get the kit to sail theirs. Our kits came with two 'thwarts' (little benches that drop in) for rowing and the rowing hardware. One of the guys was sailing his before the end of the summer.
@@WayneTheBoatGuy Thanks Wayne. A very tempting kit. But I have too many things going on. But I enjoyed watching your fun project. Nice little versatile skiff.
@sleroy1980 that's understandable, I wanna build a proper flat bottom boat successfully first before I get to clear plexie bottom... Just time is my biggest issue
Thank you for the kind offer - but I actually recently installed a couple of aluminum plates which should do the job because the motor clamps certainly like to 'bite' the wood.

Thanks!! I bet that will be a really nice boat when you're done!
Very beautifull boat. Congrats !
Thank you very much!
Awesome friend 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
looking great Wayne. its beautiful. glad to see it in the water. enjoy the fruits of your labor.
I'm fairly certain every man has dreamt of building a boat. That came out fantastic!
I need to take you for a ride when the weather is good!
My husband built two wood strip kayaks from patterns from Chesapeake. He's gotten so many compliments on them and they are really beautiful.
Yeah I had launched my old aluminum boats dozens of times and nobody paid attention, but this boat gets a lot more attention at the ramp.
Boat looks really good to me. Nothing to be ashamed of here.
Thanks!

Well done
thanks!
Excellent job! Great experience.
Thanks! It really was a something I was glad I did
Nobody can look down on a guy who builds a decent boat.
Gonna put that on my wall 😂
Looks great
thank you!
That looks so flippin' cool! Great job! Merry Christmas Wayne The Boat Guy!
Thanks Buddy!
When you're out this way again come on by!
I have been using Duckworks Raka epoxy. It is a time saver. Nice boat.
I haven't heard of that brand. What makes it a time saver?

You didn't miss out on much with those puzzle joints.
I know - but they are weirdly satisfying.
I thought about making one of these, but with a clear plexie bottom
That would be cool in clear water areas!
@WayneTheBoatGuy I thought so
I'm making one right now and my daughter asked me if I was putting in a glass bottom. I told her not on my first boat, but maybe next time.

Have you thought about putting a drain plug in?
If there's no drain plug, you'll *never* forget to install it 😊
I have and I might. Even with the cover on, it seems to collect a little water.
A nice stainless transom pad for your motor would protect the wood. We have a metal shop I could be talked into donating one

@ very nice , it would have been a shame to tear up your hard work
