Recently I’ve noticed how a good majority of Norwegian rap is social commentary, often about racism, mental health, substance abuse, and that kind of gave me a new appreciation for it

That first song is about immigration hate. The stereotypes and all. "Oh so you're running from poverty but can affort to take a plane/boat here?" Shit like that. And how it's so easy to be all tough when you're safe in your basement behind a screen. I assume the black eyes is supposed to symbolize how a lot of people demonize immigrants.

The first song is used in pretty much all Norwegian schools to analyze the lyrics. The lyrics are written like a poem, and it's really deep. It's been used in exams. It's really a beutiful song.
