Put a deep socket on the handle and weld it on. You can have your adjustable indexing pry bar set that way.

The Capri is far too beefy for the leverage U could possibly get off 6" handle. My guess is the design was made with the cheater pipe firmly in mind.
Cant beat that for $20. Speaking of indexing pry bars. I really like my olsa tools extendable indexing pry bar. It goes from 13-18"

I love modifying my tool sizes and using heat shrink to soften handles. Even when the mods are unnecessary 😅. It's more just for fun.

Drill it and tap it to screw on handles or extensions.
Liquid gun bluing works great for touch ups. Longer you apply, the darker it gets. Follow up with a light hit with 0000 steel wool and oil and looks awesome

Good video, the reinforced hose can be easily installed with applying rubbing alcohol inside and sliding on to the handle,just be sure to let it dry before using.

And yeah when the vid started i saw that Carlyle and thought " its the right lengths ( handle and pry head, but the pry head was like 3 times too thick, and the handle was a bit too thick in all the wrong palces to look like it would have been very useful. It looked cool, but if you planned out using it forreal, you needed a better grip to choke up on lol..
And w the titan it was alot better as it was vs the Carlyle imo, the slimmer head is alot more applicable,the notching and designs were ehh but not effecting its functionality. And the slinner handle looked perfect to cut to match the Carlyle length.
Only thing i think i would have done differently, when u were grinding the end down, i would have tried to like slim the whole handle down even more, like the last half of the length, and at the end leave a lil ball or bulb end so u can grip it and have a spot to keep your habd from slippingnoff the backside.
Like how those bit ratchets u chopped down ended up kinda w the bump on the end, just go up like an inch and a half or so and slightly taper it down back towards the end but leave that last bump. But thats just me.
My question for you tho is, what do you see this micro pry bar with much heft in the head being used for? Like i woudk assune you had a few certain tasks in mind?
When you lined them both up and was deciding where to cut the titan, my first thought was if you cut it off after the titan logo and the following numbers on the handle,, aka actually added lie an inch to the Carlyles starting length. That looked like it would have been stubby enough, but still function to uts full capability, but where u ended up looks perfectly fine and functional so what do I know lol

Titan must have liked your idea with those custom ratchets. They made a "nano" series and sell them in a pair for around 25 dollars. Titan #11332

Cheater bar or wrench extender? Good idea with the mod. I bet a 1/2 IP long nipple would fit close for a cheater.

At about the 6:00 minute mark, you say that "If you cut a pair of pliers down to here," indicating that most of the handles would be cut off, "they won't work anymore." Since, in the case of many pliers, that would leave you with something like a Knipex Cobra 125, which work great, I'm inclined to think that you overstated it. Cutting off most of pliers' handles would decrease the power you can apply to them and with them, but they would still function as pliers, now in tight spaces. I did that with a GearWrench, and it worked great. Granted, you picked up a specialty plier, a wire cutter/stripper/crimper, which would need more handle left uncut, but you spoke of pliers generally. Otherwise, super video, and thanks. I'm thinking of cutting down handlees of a non-Knipex brand plier wrench to see if I can get an EDC one of them at less expense. I don't think I can get down to 125, but we'll see. Cheers.

The geometry of small and micro pliers is completely different than that of a normal sized pliers whose handles were cut short.
@@lastbesttool Another great video there, thanks. Good variety of tools there, including one pair of pliers, a largish traditional slip-joint, cut ""with the pivot not too far off centre" (~7:50). You make the point there (I'm paraphrasing) that if the pivot point was much less off center, it might have offered much better torque. I wonder if this is what @pubcolize's was getting at about geometry. Different pliers of any set size have remarkably different geometries anyway, so mileage will vary, I'm sure. And as you showed at the end of the stubby tools video, stubby ratchets with similar geometry had very different performance results, so I gather there's even more to it. I'm inclined to think that if I tried to cut down (for example) a 10" Lenox plier wrench, I would get very different results than if I tried to cut down a 10" Maximum brand (Canadian Tire) plier wrench, for geometric and other reasons. You've given me lots to think about before I go ahead and buy tools to cut down. Anyway, that 7" GearWrench waterpump plier that I cut down to about 5", very little padded handle left but good pivot point ratio (about what your video suggested at 8:07, at least 4:1), has been great for me (let me do what I needed to do in a tight space), so I hope more people be creative and adapt tools to their needs. I love paying yearly subscription fees. We have a couple token machines as well. Every time you program a fob it takes a prepaid token. I have an Autel sitting here I haven't updated. It never ends. :)
Carlyle is insanely over priced for a lot of their tools.
