Them other reviews of this car can sod off. This video sold it to me, I want one! Great driving! Honda has made a great driving machine. Have a EP3 Type R in the garage myself. Love that little bastard.
Nice lap mate! As an fk2 owner i like to see how our engine go faster and faster every year😎 The fl5 have also the same problems with brakes overheating? After use ds2500 and pbs prorace i cannot find a good combo for our brembo’s
Hi Track Ali, just one question. Was this FL5 modified in any single way? Or was it completely stock. If so holy shit, that means if Honda did an official time with a lightly modified FL5 (stripped out infotainment and rear seats), that means it is obviously faster than it's predecessor. I might be overrating the car at this point.
Our car was running 255/35 R19 Yokohama AD09 tyres for these laps (standard tyre is 265/30 R19 Michelin PS4S) and Pagid RSL29 brake pads (although they weren't biting as expected). Only other modification is the addition of our little one's car seat. 👍🏻
you would expect the new car to be faster than it's predecessor especially when it comes with a hefty markup, wouldn't you? I don't know how much the extra passenger add to the lap time, maybe Ali could comment what he thinks the limit is, but if the FK8 could master up 7.43 I expect this to be at least 7.35.
This is a BTG (bridge to gantry) run and not a complete lap like the record run so my 7:49 is not comparable to the FK8 time of 7:43. For reference, a record lap run would be around 19 seconds longer in a car of this level so my 7:49 here would be around 8:07 over the same record layout. I’m just a humble owner. Racing drivers are much quicker. 👍
You're missing a tiny factor - the driver. /s This driver very likely won't be faster in an fk8 and he won't get 7:40 in an fk8 either. People need to stop acting like everybody is a professional racer

Good driving skills👍👏👏👏👏😄
It looks SO planted and stable. Can't wait to get one of these in my driveway.
Amazing driving!
Thank you. 👍🏻

The standard FL5 pads performed well for us on track but wore down quickly. We've tried Spoon Sport and Pagid RSL29 pads and like both. 👍
@@TrackAlithanks! This year i will return with the rsl29 on front, street+ rear and improved brake cooling. I hope i will be near/sub 8😎
Yes boi!
What was the maximum speed on the unrestricted main straight? Nice lap anyway!!!
Thank you. On the few occasions that we stayed out for more than one lap we used the main straight as a brief cooldown.
💪
gear grind? fuck sake thought they fixed that lol
😅😅 ya I know but Who cares really, I’m just happy they did it really good job with the new FL5
👍

The FK8 lap was on normal Continental tyres. Unfair compairison.

@@Car3stash I wouldn't be surprised if Honda went for it with the new generation. 👍
@@Car3stash do you know the reason why they attempted a record run with the FL05 but didn’t publish the times… right… bcs it was slower…
7'49" with Renault interference as well! Bring on the 'official time' ..... !!
with a passenger too!
@@dvtc8u I noticed that, trying hard to ignore some of the comments!!
New civic slower than the previous model. The Fk8 did it in 7:43
Fk8 went 7:40
Isn't the new one supposed to be a better track car?
@@swayambasnet8936 new one is fl5 and faster too

overpriced
Get an Elantra N or a Corolla GR then
I just picked up my FL5 yesterday. I love it and worth every cent
