    I grew the king arthur peppers and the sungold tomatoes you recommended and I had the best harvests ever. I also was told about the canada crookneck and you already had videos on it. I also did the alfalfa pellets and it really seems to help. I told my husband I need to do everything like you do. I am going through and watching your videos again to glean as much information as I can. I think you are my garden guru. Thanks for the videos they have been such a great help!

      @@PlantSmartLivingNOW I have never been able to grow bell peppers like these. I have had great luck with banana style peppers but NEVER have I been able to get my bells to hit like this. I am very impressed. I hope to have half as many as you harvested here. I just try to keep it fun and always experiment.

      @PlantSmartLivingNOW  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hayward, I have decided not to do any more garden videos because over the last 3 1/2 years I have pretty much covered every subject in the garden that I can think of ( over 600 garden videos) I also have five grandchildren now that I spend a lot of time with! Thank-you for your concern! However, I am still answering questions from my garden channel.

    I am going to try these alfalfa pellets. Is it just like horse feed or something? I have been going totally organic for 2 years now I love it and have really liked how there is no feeding really just keep everything nice and even.

    Great job on the pepper harvest. They look awesome. So what is your latest take on eating night shade vegetables? My wife was watching a documentary by a very successful heart surgeon that talked about certain vegetables we should avoid and peppers were one of them. I'm not happy to hear this. I love peppers.

    • @PlantSmartLivingNOW
      @PlantSmartLivingNOW  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there Simply Garden! I can't say that I've heard much about that (although, I'm inspired to do a Google search, after I leave this comment). Although I've read and study books published by plant-based doctors, and won't claim to be a doctor/surgeon myself, my initial thought it is that I find it difficult to believe that anything grown from the ground would actually be harmful for us to consume. With that, I'm interested to see if I can learn more/educate myself on this. Do you recall what the name of the documentary was? Was that on Netflix, by any chance?

  • @DDiamondRRuby

    Hello . I've been watching your videos on peppers as well as other gardener's videos. Some of them recommend pruning off the top of the pepper when young to encourage a bushier plant and more peppers. Have you ever tried this?

    • @PlantSmartLivingNOW
      @PlantSmartLivingNOW  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have tried pruning some of my pepper plants as a experiment to see if it would make a difference and by the end of the season I really didn’t notice much difference in plant production!

    • @PlantSmartLivingNOW

      Great question, Cathie! We put these green bell peppers to good use, preparing various dishes, in our home. Other than for my wife and I, I anticipate I've be giving a lot of them away, as well. With my 5th grandchild on the way now, it seems my family keeps expanding. My oldest daughter just had her 3rd child in May, and my middle daughter has her 2nd child on the way now. I'm sure I'll be giving some away to my daughter, their husbands, and their families. :)

  • @SimplyGarden

    I'll ask my wife who it was. I do know that they were promoting pre- biotics which helps you digest food better. I guess the claim is that not everything that is grown isn't always good for human consumption. They even said that the skins and seeds of tomatoes are not good for you. I'll get back to you with that info. Talk to you soon.
