I totally blanked and didn't include worn photos in the video and didn't realize it until after uploading! You can see the pictures here: www.patreon.com/posts/30234270 - Sorry about that!
I love how spot on the fabric is!!! And I think it's better to have not tried to find something with scaled-up dots, because that might have had the potential to look too costume/kitsch/cheesy. But at this scale, it looks cute and summery and playful. Love how the brim alone of the hat looked. That would be a cool summer hat...though you might get a sunburn on the crown of your head...so maybe not.
i think the fact that the polkadots don’t really show up until you get closer is actually a cute effect! and it’s crazy how much of a difference folding the brim made with the hat!
I really like this Barbie project your doing, I did a Barbie project when I was at uni, celebrating 60 years of Barbie and I was asked to make the Lets Dance Dress. I want to see your version of not only Lets dance but also I would like to see you do Campus Belle, Theatre Date and Easter Parade
Campus Belle would be amazing! The construction is really interesting, using tucks instead of darts and carrying those lines into the skirt. I think the shape would be super flattering on Angela's figure.
That striped dress in the background at the beginning reminds me of the one Christina Ricci wears at the end of Sleepy Hollow and I love it. I hope there's a video about it coming.
Oh my gosh what is that GORGEOUS striped bustle creation around 2:30 ??? The seaming is so clever would love to see a costume spotlight on that if you don’t have a video on it in the works already :)
I love these videos!! And I know this video isn't about the black and white striped dress but....... OH MY GOODNESS!!!! That thing is gorgeous! ! I sure hope threes a video on that one!!!!!!!
The dress is so adorable love the black velvet ribbon and bows! The pattern is doable. Back then clothes were so colorful, I remember. Fabric shopping was so fun and affordable.
I love this! When I began costuming, I did just the opposite, I scaled down patterns to Barbie sizes. I was on a very low budget and wanted to build my portfolio. Doll clothes are good for that because they require very little fabric.
The dress looks great! The hat is even cute! That lipstick in your final thoughts looks amazing on you! We have similar coloring so now I’m curious, do you mind sharing what it is?
I loved how simple this one was. Not to mention you need one of these dresses for everyday of the week. You look fantastic in it even with the green riding up.
You did a fabulous job!! I think this looks like such a fun dress. I love that you said the colors made you think of Mustard, Pickel and Relish. It's a perfect choice for a picnic. The hat just finishes it off, so nicely.
Oh wow! Love love love this & the series! To me the dress reminds me of a traffic light 🚦 right away lol I’m loving that shade of lip color you’re wear too! Fabulous vlog post! ❤️💚💛
OH! how i wish i had known about that horse hair braid stuff when i was making my daughter's dresses in the 90s! i tried so many things with net underskirts and everything to get full skirts. she's 30 now, so it wouldn't be as cute. lol. i once dreamed up what i imagined would work for seaming to not show. found out much later it had already been invented and was called a french seam. hahahah. i wish i knew how to drape and all that. i have not sewn in a long time now.
That's awesome I remember this outfit cool MOD fashion of late 60s. I had made from original Ken doll outfits from 1961-64 copy to adult clothes. So much fun to create it. Btw love that scissor and sound too. Have a good weekend.
I love this look! TNT/1967-1970 Barbies are my favorite! And this is totally something I would wear/make (if I could). I love the hat with the brim pushed up, there are pictures of Jean Shrimpton and Lauren Hutton in the 60's with big bucket hats pushed up exactly like that, so it's super accurate to the time period.
I have for years tried to create that Red sailor jacket with striped shirt, jeans, cork wedge sandals, white cat eye sunglasses and straw hat. Was always my favorite Barbie outfit.
The hat is cute! The dress is perfect and I lovee that the scale of the print is nearly identical to the scale of the orginal. Congrats, well done! 👏👏👏👏👏
I love your summer Barbie dress and hat. I remember when everyone was wearing a similar dress. I wore a similar hat and suddenly everyone seemed to be calling me Ms. Hollywood. I really enjoy your sewing adventures.
I find it interesting you patterned this the way doll dresses are made. I’m pretty sure if this dress was made back in the day for a human, there would be shoulder seams. But I really like how it looks.
Yes I remember reading in Forever Barbie that they spent a lot of design time on debulking and eliminating seams because fabric thickness doesn't scale. That's also why Barbie's waist is so disproportionately small.
Too cute! You pull off both the dress and hat perfectly, (personally I think your hat looks better than Barbie’s), and your content could never be boring! I could watch you hand sew for and hour straight and be happy! 😄

The dress and the hat are just too cute. Thanks for sharing the process with us. Your videos are a bright spot in my day.
It's so adorable amazing. Look great. My favorite style from 1959 I own doll outfit Roman Holiday, I'm forward see your new project.
Dont you just love the snip snip sound the scissors make? I need a two hr compilation of it..
Have you seen her sounds of sewing video here: th-cam.com/video/n7vA1IKhslY/w-d-xo.html
I was just going to comment that fabric scissors cutting on a table is such an asmr for me
That sound is so satisfying. 😌
to be a lost wanderer fabric cutting reminds me of my mum cutting fabric out. I love it

You nailed it on the fabric colors. Mustard, relish & ketchup!😁🤣😃 This pattern has such a 60's vibe! Perfect❤
That striped dress in the background at the beginning reminds me of the one Christina Ricci wears at the end of Sleepy Hollow and I love it. I hope there's a video about it coming.
I thought that too! Then i thought Beetlejuice lol
I'm hoping for a video as well, that dress is gorgeous!
I thought she might have joined Karolina Zebroska's strippy challenge!
Yeah. I’m looking forward to seeing that project!
Ugh that dress from Sleepy Hollow was gorgeous.
2:30 the spriped bustle dress on the right looks amazing 😮
So good! I hope you make a video on it! I wonder if it's for the stripey challenge from Karolina's channel...
Oh my gosh what is that GORGEOUS striped bustle creation around 2:30 ??? The seaming is so clever would love to see a costume spotlight on that if you don’t have a video on it in the works already :)
It's cool how the bust dart gets incorporated into the seam across the bust. Barbie has some pretty smart pattern drafters haha
Honestly the hat looks so much cuter on you than on Barbie.
No matter if folded back or not, your looks much nicer.
angela: making a new bobbin is too hard
also angela: *hand makes an entire hat*
Selective laziness is so real!
Love it! I really like the hat with the brim turned up! It also will give lots of coverage out in the sun. 😍
I love these videos!! And I know this video isn't about the black and white striped dress but....... OH MY GOODNESS!!!! That thing is gorgeous! ! I sure hope threes a video on that one!!!!!!!
It's stupid easy making a bobbin on mine too :)
I'm really enjoying the Barbie clothing series you're doing. I can't wait to see more about your dolls. Happy Thursday.
I think, for your effort, the whole outfit is very cute! I really like the color combo, and black trim accent.
The dress is so adorable love the black velvet ribbon and bows! The pattern is doable. Back then clothes were so colorful, I remember. Fabric shopping was so fun and affordable.
These are the colors of Lithuanian flag! 🇱🇹 You did great at recreating the dress, I love it.
Ohh they are also the colors of the city that live in
I love this! When I began costuming, I did just the opposite, I scaled down patterns to Barbie sizes. I was on a very low budget and wanted to build my portfolio. Doll clothes are good for that because they require very little fabric.
That fabric cutting asmr 👌🏻
You did a stellar job-both on the garment and the fabric matching. Any seamstress out there knows how hard that can be and you did a really great job!
The dress looks great! The hat is even cute! That lipstick in your final thoughts looks amazing on you! We have similar coloring so now I’m curious, do you mind sharing what it is?
I love seeing the Barbie side by side with your dressform throughout the process! It's such a cool scale comparison!
Hey i just wanted to say the sped up audio of you sewing and cutting makes this so relaxing omg i love it!
Totally cute! Your hat will protect you from the California sun while you tour the studios! Well done!
I adore this. Definitely different to your normal designs, but still adorable on you. Looks comfy too.
This is so cute!!! Omg the hat folded looks adorable!
If only you could turn these into commercial patterns! That would be so neat
The red and green complementary color scheme would be amazing for Christmas! A cute red polka dot and green polka dot cotton fabric would work.
Oh wow! Love love love this & the series! To me the dress reminds me of a traffic light 🚦 right away lol I’m loving that shade of lip color you’re wear too! Fabulous vlog post! ❤️💚💛
I was about to say it reminded me of a stoplight!
Yes it kind of does
This turned out so perfect! I'm also really excited about that black and white striped piece in the shots of you draping! 👀
I quite liked the hat when you turned the brim up
This turned out really nicely, and the hat looks quite good on. I also love the 'snipping scissor ' sounds. Lol
you really got those colours spot on. now I'm inspired to get on with my project
That dress is beautiful Angela and you look amazing as always
OH! how i wish i had known about that horse hair braid stuff when i was making my daughter's dresses in the 90s! i tried so many things with net underskirts and everything to get full skirts. she's 30 now, so it wouldn't be as cute. lol. i once dreamed up what i imagined would work for seaming to not show. found out much later it had already been invented and was called a french seam. hahahah. i wish i knew how to drape and all that. i have not sewn in a long time now.
Absolutely love this! Both pieces are so wearable! (though maybe separately)
Looking forward to seeing a post on your black & white stripe gown!
Very cute! I’ve been sewing for over fifty years and I’m still learning. I love your Barbie projects.
I have just started this video and I cannot explain how ecstatic I am for another Angela Clayton video!
Wait, wait, rewind!! I have to know more about that black and white stripped dress!!!!
Love this series! Making all the childhood dreams come true.
omg that eyeshadow and lipstick looks so cool on you. so beautiful
love this! maybe a black velvet ribbon around the top of the hat, with a bow would even be cuter!
This ensemble is adorable! I really like this dress. I hope you wear it and the hat often. The hat looks good with the brim down and turned-options!
Adorable, love hat too.
Very cute! I love your idea on the hat! It looks more stylish.
I’d love to see you making a wedding gown from the ‘50’s
The dark makeup look is everything right now
That striped dress in the background looks really fun. Will we be getting a video on it?
You are incredibly talented. The dress and hat are darling!
That dress look like a living Barbie dress. How you found material just like the Barbie material was fate. Thank you for showing your talent with us.
That's awesome I remember this outfit cool MOD fashion of late 60s. I had made from original Ken doll outfits from 1961-64 copy to adult clothes. So much fun to create it. Btw love that scissor and sound too. Have a good weekend.
I love this dark themed outfit! so cute!
I love the finished product. Truly lovely!
Super cute, thought originally the colors would be overwhelming, but it really suits you and looks great!!!
I love the dress!!! It came out so cute!!!!
So very clever Angela. And tre' chic in a 1967 kind of way. Always fun. Thank you. 🧵
I think you did great. Always learning. You should totally wear this on the boardwalk. Very cute on you
This seems like it came together quicky! It came out super cute!
These colors are so cute on you!

Such a cute dress and again spot on!
Very cute! Love your look at the beginning especially the hair and lip.
Oh my gosh. I LOVE your lipstick!!!!!
I really like this series, it's just fun to watch you work through it all. Also reminds me how much I REALLY want a mannequin.
I have for years tried to create that Red sailor jacket with striped shirt, jeans, cork wedge sandals, white cat eye sunglasses and straw hat. Was always my favorite Barbie outfit.
This is so so so much beautiful and pretty. Well done.
This outfit came out really well. And I like the hat. Great job!
You are so remarkable!! Love watching you!
Your content is totally riveting!
Your makeup looks FABULOUS 💕
I like the hat front folded up. It lets you see all three colors, and which ties in with the dress better. 👍😊
A total delight seeing this!
The dress and hat came out beautifully!
It looks really cute!
It is so cool! Maybe you could also try it the other way around and make one of your real dresses for a Barbie doll!
I wish I could buy this dress from you! So cute!
The hat is cute! The dress is perfect and I lovee that the scale of the print is nearly identical to the scale of the orginal. Congrats, well done! 👏👏👏👏👏

I think this is totally darling. How fun to watch you get through it too.
I love all of your videos, simple or extravagant I always learn something❤️❤️❤️
I would love to see a reversal where Barbie (Mattel) takes some of your designs and turns them into creations for the dolls!
The dress is very flattering
oh girl! this is so cute. now i am thinking about making one!
I like the dress and hat...brim up...and brim down. In one of the shots, I can barely see Barbie’s dots, so I think you nailed it!
The dark lipstick has returned. It's such a pretty color on you :)
I love your videos, you look amazing in this one. Love the hair, makeup and outfit
your hair and makeup in the intro was stunning! quite the contrast to that bright dress you made.
Love the dress & hat!
That dress is super cute
Honestly I was hesitant this looking good because those colors are... a thing. But it looks lovely on a real person.
amazing! I love the colors!
I really like the dress and the hat. Very cute! Would like to have seen an outside, full-length veiw as you often do.
I enjoyed your video, love Barbie. Keep up the good work.
Too cute! You pull off both the dress and hat perfectly, (personally I think your hat looks better than Barbie’s), and your content could never be boring! I could watch you hand sew for and hour straight and be happy! 😄
Stripey dress! So pretty!
great job, also your makeup at the beginning looked stunning!
