Absolutely lovely, i feel like many of these wild historical styles lend themselves well to improvised altercations as they have so much already going on, adding anything more on looks natural, like the lovely sleeve ribbons
Awesome! Re: breaking needles & tension problems - if you haven't already done so 1) clean the bobbin holder / needle plate from fluff buildup and 2) get some rubbing alcohol on a thin piece of fabric, fold it double and drag it between the tension plates a couple of times to remove any debris that is messing with your tension. It won't make the sleeves suck less but it may go some way toward lessening the amount of peripheral shenanigans.
Love the matching nail polish! also like the sleevil choice. if one must be persecuted by sleevils, at least one can feel better about it with a fabulous outcome!
I think this video showed a point in historically sewing we most times forget. Sometimes it is just working the way around struggles and making it look good and functioning.
Even though I don't understand most of your tailor and sewing language; but watching and listening to yore processes both teach, and sooth me! Thank you!!
I had to laugh because the pouf sleeves reminded me of the window treatment valances we loved in the 1980's. The poufier the better, we stuffed them with tissue paper. haha
Thank you for walking us through your problem-solving for the fit of the sleeves/getting them on and off. When I've had a sleeve that was too tight at the wrists I usually either chop it off or cut a whole new sleeve (or the whole thing ends up in the the UFO pile). Now I've got two new ideas!
I am in awe of your dedication to sewing on all those sequins. It's looking spectacular at this stage, It's going to be phenominal with the skirt added!
I have a challenge for you... and I think you'll like it! There is one "historic" dress I've always loved. I think it's perfect for you to make. It's the 1906? Pepsi Girl dress from advertising trays and posters. It's the one with the highly embellished, blue dress with gold beads and lace. She even looks like you! Please think about it. Love your work!
For gathering, have you ever used elastic thread in your bobbin and regular thread for the top thread? I have and it works well. It's much easier to adjust to the width you need and if you wish to pull out the elastic thread at the end, it comes out easily.
Why does the description of the sleeves at the start of the video make that saying "I hate to see you leave but I love to watch you walk away" pop in my head? 😂😂😂
As a designer of 38 years who knows how to sew and pattern are, your work is good.i would have done a couple of things differently but that comes with experience. The only thing I would suggest is that you talk a little slower for those who might not have the knowledge and experience you do. Keep it up!!
I saw the title and hit it immediately 😆 I fkn hate sleeves, and I'm not even doing anything pretty!! Where do you drink from for your fountain of patience?! I neeeeed~
sorry if youve answered this before, but do you have a wardrobe or something where you keep all the clothes you make? i'd think that all these large history dresses would take up just so much room!
My question is... Why not use a single full piece of muslin that fit you as your overall guide..as the lining? The cutting step with the ribbon would have been avoided if you already fit your lower arm. Even if you decide to replace that lining for other, its a great guide for both the full replacement lining and placement of exterior pieces.

I love the sleeves!!! They look like little unripe pumpkins or pool floaties like any other 1830s gown sleeve. That's a compliment not an insult!!
these are adorable!!! and i am very impressed that you didnt rage quit on these sleeves. the broken needle would have put me off for a couple of days
The bodice is so cute! I'm looking forward to seeing the full ensemble!
I don’t even sew I just find your videos and talent fascinating and now I want sleeves that are bigger than my head. 🪡
Awesome!

Thanks for the tip…!
I really appreciate the matching green nails.
I have desperately been waiting for the conclusion of this dress! I love your affinity for pattern matching

Your pattern making skills are truly awesome!.. you looked at a fashion plate and patterned a dress! Bravo!
I had to laugh because the pouf sleeves reminded me of the window treatment valances we loved in the 1980's. The poufier the better, we stuffed them with tissue paper. haha
I love 1830s fashion, those people went so hard with designs, they really had fun :D Your sleeves look wonderful!
Beautiful sleeves. I like the gold bows on the cuffs.
I can’t wait to see the entire look all together!! That combo of those shades of green in the fabric is to die for!!
oh my goodness!! it looks absoulutly gorgeous! And kudos for not quitting in the midst of making it. :D

Oh! Nice cost-cutting with the muslin. Bravo! Very Nice!
You're a very hard worker.
I know you hate making sleeves, but these are beautiful~ loving the green 💚
You are INSANE! How? This is so beautiful omg ~
My favorite gathering technique is “put the tension one number higher and set to the longest stitch on your machine.” method
You do such a good job! I love the bright fun colors you do! 💚🍀💚
Omg! I'm sorry it was so difficult, but it's sooooooooooo beautiful! Just gorgeous! I love it soooo much!
Part 2!!! Hooray!!..your patience for these fiddly designs is well rewarded with gorgeous outcomes, those looks awesome.
i always love your special embellishments !!! so pretty!!!!!
I’m sure all the sequining took ages but it is so worth it for the final look of the bodice 😊
Your work always amazes me. So intricate and then all the embellishment! Beautiful work. And all with a wicked giggle barely veiled in the narration!
Sewing boo-boo = sprinkle sequins = all better! Sweet bodice!
I like your new ironing board cover.
I love the trim with the pearls.

As usual, your work is amazing
I don’t like plaids as a rule, but this is magnificent!!!
Cute!!!!
I find it easier to machine so a small cough if it’s turned inside out
You are amazing. You have so much talent. Reminds me the bouffant culotte from the 1400s? that you made. So many steps.

I love ridiculous sleeves and shoulder decoration 🥰🥰
Wow! So cool! Love it!

Beautiful Work! Thank you for sharing.
Wow! Lovely! I learned something!
Looks awesome!
Very lovely
I miss your videos, I hope you're doing well!
It's so pretty 😍😍😍
Wow! Very tedious to say the least! Your hands had to be sore, but did turn out great!

Personally not a fan of the 1830’s. But you always make any project fun to watch.
Fun fun!
Girl, dang! That's too much stress! I'd have screamed and set it on fire 😅
Will the skirt have hidden pockets?
Wow. just Wow.
Wow!
Nice

Hon, get yourself a cleaned/restored Singer 15, or another all metal vintage machine.
The bodice is chef’s kiss. Oh and *collars are the absolute worst* .
The leprechaun dress now has clover sleeves, if you bend your elbow do they look like 3 leaf clovers? ☘️
Emerald city vibes.
The silk looks like bugee wrapping paper or ribbon
wow!!!!!

Why use an anachronistic fabric with lurex threads?
Sleeves are my bane.
🌹💚
🇨🇦😃
Why don’t you donate your costumes to schools when you don’t want them?
the sleeves look like smoke signals. . .
They truly are the absolute worst. Source, attempting an 18th century gown
You talk way to fast to understand
Very nice. It is great to see you making videos
Just beautiful
