I remember watching this closer to when it came out but I've decided to give it a rewatch now that I'm actually giving online multiplayer a shot. Been a longtime fan of starcraft in general (played through the campaigns, achievement hunting, likes to watch SC2 channels like winter and pig, etc.) but never really dabbled in the multiplayer (it's daunting to say the least). Thanks for doing this; I'll be referencing it for quite awhile I'm sure. Gave ranked a try for the first time and got gold 3 right off the bat. It gets frustrating at times for sure (just lost to a zerg who did a big muta switch and I didn't react properly) but I can feel like I'm actually recognizing a lot of my shortcomings when I watch the replays (in this case, keeping up with adding more production and building placement for later expansions that can help mitigate runbys and multiprong attacks; he set me up for that later switch which I'd say was the final nail in the coffin).
Great vid, ViBE if your having headaches from sinus congestion it is advised to use steam or place a hot compress at the sides of your nose to soften and remove the congestion.
I've had a few games where I've switched from Macro to Micro at the end to win. In one case, my opponent was outmaneuvering my army to the point where I was throwing an entire army away for a couple buildings and units (and I didn't have a contain). In the other, his aggression was such that I couldn't macro (because my defenses and probes were dying faster than I could build them). In both cases, I switched over to micro and then won. However, in both cases, it felt like a bit of a dirty win. I won the game, but did I do so at the cost of the fundamentals I'm trying to build.
I know the feeling. Are you Plat? I feel like there are some very strong micro players at my mmr right now, 2800-2900 and my macro does not have a chance to get cooking in some games against 2-base timings or well-played rushes
@@danielskrivan6921 Look at your building timings compared to Vibes in his replays and you will find your problem, I bet. I was struggling until I used his notepad trick and realized how bad my macro really was.
@@Qriator That doesn't really address either situation. In one situation, I had DTs picking apart my bases faster than I could build cannons or defend. In the other, my A-move army was doing zilch against a Terran that was making good use of walls and siege tanks.
@@danielskrivan6921 How was the timing on your observer? And the siege tank thing… that has hurt me too when doing this. Lots of Immortals can usually trade well enough, but you need to crank em out.
first game is not about being efficient. it's about GM decision making when to pull probes, when to go back mining, when to overcharge while still being able to produce. A plat player will block there if he has to think "do I pull probes or I overcharge". What vibe should have said is "you'll probably loose this game as platin, but it's ok. you are going to win most of the time". I also disagree about zero micro. You don't want to go to diamond and then start learning to micro. Maybe a good way is to alternate a micro game then macro game when you reach gold
How do you guys deal with mid-game ling rushes? I know ViBE places sim city walls relatively early against Zerg, around when he builds his third and fourth, but I feel like - especially on the new maps - I always get crushed by Zergs skill-less-ly a-moving lings. Thanks guys!
placing one shield battery (or two if you feel really unsafe) works wonders on holding off until: your army arrives; you recall; you warp in units. Also, just like ViBE says, if you found yourself with warpgate cooldowns and extra minerals, just build a few cannons.
why is literally every single game i play pvp a cannon rush. like 10 fucking games in a row. vibe gets normal opponents on a more regular basis. sure theres cannon rushes. but it isnt EVERY SINGLE TIME>
I have same on EU, when I see Pvp know its cannon rush, it's noob way to climb the ladder, but there is a really good way to counter this, spot early, build armory, then cannons yourself. 3 probes on per cannon if sent early, 4 on late, don't touch pylons, 2 chase the one who builds, don't pull off all probes from mineral lines, it seems chaotic for new player but calm down and react, you can counter this, and if you do 9/10 they tap out as this is all they new. They have no 2nd plan and they will be way behind you mate

vibeee, rest your eyes and head - don't overdo it. it's not worth it on the long run. We can be patient. Anticipation is something nice :)
Thanks so much for doing this vibe! I've learned a lot :)
Love your commenting and B2GM videos ViBE. Really good content. Hope to see this next year again
Protoss needs more love, it's way harder to max out and defend early rushes with toss, great b2gm Vibe

@14:20- can also right click target with shield battery selected to restore shields.
THANK you VIBU, u are inimitable my friend.
Vibe's b2gm - come for the coaching stay for the analogies!
"Arcons bitchslap voids" made me laugh 😂👍
FINALLY BROKE THROUGH PLAT2 to PLAT1 THANKS! WOOOHOOO!!!

This builds work fine for me except in PvZ, I've been unable to stop nydus, or ling rushes, nydus pops up when my sentry energy is ready for scout
What do you do when your opponents make late-game capital ship armies while you're making your army and mass expand during the game?
Could you mention something about how to deal with the presplit army pushing our bases? I think this B2GM series is better than the old one
I’ve heard him say to green box half your army and send it to the other location.
In that last game, would it be a bad idea to build a battery or two in the base he keeps attacking?
„Toss for noobs :)“
Lol I know its a meme, but it really always is a Terran.

battle tag?
Enemy color should be red on minimap, blue has too little contrast to its surroundings. With red you should see enemy usually faster.
Yeah pros choose green for their units and red for their opponent's. I don't think Vibe wants to explain more things than necessary though.

You are the best fcking teacher vibu wtf
I just checked the price of the Vibu coin and 1 coin = $2USD. So does that mean this guy just gave Vibe $20k USD? WAT?
It says $10000 in vibu coins at 19:05 so it should be 10k usd. Still insane though!
