Here is a short step by step video of how I built my own pool using ICF (insulated concrete forms) this is just a quick overview of how I built it. To be honest it was easy and very rewarding.

Did you need to pour a cement slab under the pool or just compressed the ground and covered by foil? 2. Did you need additional vertical rebar in the footing or did the ICF contain rebar that you just pour cement in and fill till the top?
Hi Hani, I did not pour a cement slab under. as you mentioned I did compressed the ground and insulated the bottom with a insulated blanket....the foil you see. As for the rebar I installed some in the footing and in the ICF wall with some going from one to the other. the walls have vertical rebar every 16 inch and horizontal every 18 inch. good luck with your project.
I wanted to parge but feared it would crack, crumple and create sharp edges behind the liner. I have not notice compression dimples maybe because of the felt liner I installed between the liner and wall.

This is great did you have to buy special hardware for the pool? Meaning liner skimmer, pluming? This could not have been easy to explain to the seller of the pool equipment. Who did you buy these products from?
Yes you do need to be a certified installer. I dont have a link for the distributor but a quick internet search and you should be able to find someone local.
What liner did you use and curious on how you figure out the dimensions on digging so the liner fits the walls like what was inside measurements and depth thanks so much looks so awesome
99% of inground pool liners are made on custom measurements. I just built the pool and after measured it and had a custom liner ordered for it. 14x28x54inch
Hey there, I love the finished product! I've been looking into doing the same thing. A couple questions. How does it hold up in Canadian winters? How did you finish the top? Do you need some sort of coping to secure the liner to? Is the styrofoam dense enough to withstand feet and hands pressing against it? Did you fill and pack the bottom with sand or concrete? I'm sure I have a lot more questions! Thanks for sharing your video. It looks great.
I am about to take the cover off for the first time after winter so if I dont post anything about it its probably fine. I did use coping to secure the liner and there is no problem with feet and hands pressing against it. Sand on the bottom.
That is the million dollar question. I came up with a solution due to the lack of information and help form suppliers. I could not find anybody to help me with this so I tried something I invented and am waiting to see if it last before telling people how I did that. I hope you understand.
Josh, I have professionally built these in Norther Michigan aka tip of the mit and UP. the ICF's for the pools maintain the heat as it is an R-19 rating and in ground unless your venal liner then its a full R-32 it is not as much the heat loss as the recovery time for your heater. but that being said they are great.
Hi Christian. Awesome job, i would imagine the kids are happy. I'm going to attempt the same project. Couple of questions. I assume that white plastic or fiberglass at the top of the icf is a pool coping I can order from an online pool parts distributor and did you just screw it to the plastic ribs of the icf? Also what is the material you put on the walls under the liner? I was thinking about pouring the floor but It would save a lot of money and effort to just compact sand I suppose. Really appreciate you responding to questions. Thanks
Hi Maddalena, yes I just compacted sand for the bottom and have no issues with it. As for the wall coverings before the liner I used a protective barrier sold from a pool supply store for above ground pools to protect the liner from the bottom sand. for the pool coping I fabricated a metal plate to hold it on the wall. Can I pay you to build a pool in my small backyard? Companies want 30-38k estimated for only a 6’ by 20’ pool, only 4 feet deep. I wish I could do it myself but don’t know anything about excavating, concrete, or plumbing, etc.
Thanks. unfortunately, Nudura had very limited info on how to do this project or how to build a pool using there product. I would have gone with radiant heat its a great idea but was on a limited budget.
I’m a logix ICF franchise owner and plan on doing a pool at my new place this spring. I plan on doing the in floor heat. How is yours without? Did you put in a heat pump? Is going to the local pool stores in town helpful on getting liners and pool equipment??? I see in a comment a lot of materials were purchased online. Could you show/provide links? Great video!!!
Hi Jon my pool is great without a pool in the summer but I will get a heat pump this year for the shoulder seasons. As for local pool stores most of the parts or supplies were more expensive and around here they were not forthcoming with information and very negative with there comments saying things like its never going to work. why go through the hassle just buy a kit. As for materials I just googled pool supplies and got stuff from a few different sites I don't really trust them to promote. I am sure you will do fine. Good luck and thanks for watching.
When you determine the depth at 54 is that measured at the bottom of sand to where the liner gets snapped in and also since the walls are foam due they dent real easy if you push of the wall with your feet or if they get bumped with a knee or something just curious starting my pool project in less then a month
thats exacly how I measured it but should have measured it to the top of the finish pavers so that it would be easier to source a ladder that fits...above ground pools ladders are easier to find. no issues with dents havent notice any and pushing off with my feet is my favorite thing to do... good luck with your project.

Amazing Job Christian, how did you secure the coping/pool liner track to the finished edge on the top of the ICF?
it complicated to explain but basically, it's poured into the concrete with a steel footing.
How have the walls held up behind the liner? Would you consider parging the wall foam to help prevent compression dimples?

Non pas de blue skin. mon terain est sableux mais un drain francais est pas une mauvais idee. sud-est NB. pas de sable a la jonctiondes mur.

Hi Cody, yes I did glue them to the top of my wall. they are not pavers they are patio slabs but pavers would do the same thing.

it was actually pretty easy... the suppliers were very helpful. most of the equipment was actually ordered online.

14x28x54 is inside wall are 12inch thick with 6 inch concrete inside

It turned out great and we love it. I just put sand and a liner from a online pool company. same as they do for above ground pool.

I Don't have a budget break down but we were estimating 12k for the pool and 5k for landscape. We stayed pretty close to budget.

I believe it was about 60$ for a strait piece and 30$ for a corner. something like that. a strait piece is 8ft x 18inch.
