I made these puppies tonight, so I thought I would share my results/experience. I didn't have a doughnut pan, so I just used a cupcake pan. I used store-bought apple butter (in the peanut butter/jelly section). I ended up needing quite a bit more cider for the batter to get that nice smooth consistency like Laura shows-I'd say 3/4 cup total. Filled the muffin pan about 3/4 full, made 11 muffins. They baked for 21 minutes at 350F. Just tried my first one, and they are damn good. Thanks Laura!
Laura, these are so delicious! Made them today and used my mini doughnut pan. Baked at 350 for 6-7 min. I also had made your Apple Butter a few weeks ago and used up the last bit for this recipe! For the glaze I had a tangerine on had so I used that instead of orange. Wow, this glaze is yummy! I did need a bit more Apple Cider to loosen it up. I am alone in the house with these, need to find someone to share these with ASAP! Thank You!
These look wonderful, and the best part is they are BAKED and not fried. Thank you for all you do, all your recipes that I have made turn out so well, and delicious!! :)
I talk about ALL your channels on my channel. People ask me all the time do your recipes really come out like the videos. And my answer is always yes. I have not had a recipe of yours go flop. I also would like to say I think you have taken a lot of thought into your recipes you show. Simple simple ingredients. I love it!!! Keep it up. These are going on my list of must do for my kids. O boy wonderful doughnuts!
Laura, your videos are such a delight, but in terms of the recipes you provide and the energy you exude. I love this recipe, and thanks for being so diligent in your recipe development and uploads and so consistently splendid :)
I made these donuts several times in the last few months. They are very yummy. However, I think they're is a slight mistake in the written recipe. Should it say 1 cup of apple cider instead of 1/2 cup? After making them over and over and watching the video over and over, when I used a cup of the cider they came perfect. They came good before, but being an experienced cook, they were not moist and cakey. Using 1 cup, perfect. Love your recipes! Former NJ girl and fellow Italian!
Laura, these look delicious!!! I don't have a donut pan, but I am going to buy one. You cook so many amazing things. Thanks for all the recipes that you do. Just love you.
This looks delicious! Could you please make a video on kitchen/baking essentials? I think it would be very informative and helpful for your viewers. Thank you!
I made your apple butter. AMAZING!!!! my whole house smelt wonderful. I did not peel my apples. I just put them in my vita mix and cooked for another 1.5 hours lid off. It is the best! Thank you so much. Going to attempt these too. (when is your recipe book coming out?)
Our local apple barn sells these. They are my fave! The only difference is they don't glaze. They either leave them plain. Dip in powder sugar or a sugar cinnamon mixture. Amazing!!!
I've been waiting for this recipe ever since I saw it in your vlog! I finally got around to making them tonight and I love them! Next time I'm going to add a little less orange zest but it was really easy and delicious!
Laura, one day in the future...I hope to have a fully equipped kitchen like yours and be able to bake & cook everything and anything to my heart's content. :) You're an inspiration
Laura, I love your recipes (have tried many and they never fail a thank you!!!). Can you show us how to make cartellate please? I used to live in southern Italy, and I so miss these at christmas time,
Laura, your makeup is absolutely on point in this video! Something about the way you looked here is phenomenal!! You're gorg!! And those donuts....don't get me started haha
Laura, I love your vlogs and cooking channel. I have a suggestion. At the end of your cooking videos, see what you and Joe think about a longer shot of the finished dish. I always find myself wanting to admire it a little bit longer, lol. Now I'm going to thrill my husband with another Amazon delivery, lol. Thanks Laura!
As requested, and as promised!! Here are my Apple Cider Baked Donuts!!! CLICK TO WATCH RECIPE: www.laurainthekitchen.com/recipes/apple-cider-spiced-doughnuts/
I didn't notice any difference with the camera angles on this video vs other LITK videos. Joe does an excellent job of panning from the food being prepared to Laura explaining the technique. They do this on all cooking shows on television. Maybe I am not understanding the "issue." Anyways, the donuts look heavenly! Laura, do you have a recipe for apple crisp?
I tried these today and the were great! my batter was quite thick but they turned out okay. I had one w/o the glaze but they tasted way better with the glaze on top.
I think a large fork (if you have one) or just any spatula or ladle. The whisk is easier because you don't get any lumps of flour or sugar while mixing. I think it would be smart to get a whisk cos it's really convenient. :)
