    I'm 61, and i bought the A1 combo, thinking I would just use it as a single roll till I got my feet wet, but within 1 hour of it being delivered I was printing and 2 days later hooked up the AMS, my feeling is get the combo it is awesome, even if you are only using 1 color, it's so nice having 4 different colors already loaded and ready to go. Just my 2 cents worth, and don't be afraid, it is as simple to navigate as everyone has been bragging about.

      Having purchased the P1P mainly for prototyping purposes, this consensus regarding the AMS is common among most users. Although more costly, I'll probably end up purchasing it as an add-on. Happy Printing :)

    Hi, I purchased the A1 Combo for my 66th birthday and never looked back. Love the set up. After using a Creality ender 3 v3 that my son lent me for a few months I am amazed at the speed and capabilities of the A1. Even my son that has both a resin and filament printer keep using the A1 non stop when he comes visiting. Could not be happier with my choice.

    I bought an A1 mini a couple weeks ago just to get my feet wet and see how much I would like the hobby. Turns out I liked it a lot. I've ended up printing things for other people and toys for kids and grand children ... something I never envisioned doing. So I went ahead and purchased an A1 combo during the Black Friday sale, and it just got here today and it's calibrating itself in the other room right now. I plan on taking the A1 mini up to the office and let my dispatcher and boss print with it since they are starting to take an interest. So there you have it, a lot of paying it forward and a lot of fun to this. I find it very stress relieving. I've even gone into Tinker Cad and made several functional pieces on my own. Thank you for your videos, I enjoy them very much.

    I bought the A1 Mini and a month later bought the A1. Which do I prefer? The A1 Mini. The bed plate just fits perfectly every time, the power draw is lower, it’s quieter, takes up less space *and* there’s now an autoloader for the bed plates so you can daisy chain multiple plates. So cool. :)
    I use the A1 for those prints that won’t fit on the A1 Mini and when I need more throughput.
    The A1 Mini was way easier to put together and it Just Worked(tm) which the A1 didn’t.

    • @LoyalMoses
      @LoyalMoses  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The A1 mini and the P1S are probably the two most recommended printers by me. The A1 mini heats up so fast and prints so well. My daughter has the mini in her room, and it's the number one printer used in our home!

    • @OwiecPL

      A1 mini draws less power even when printing the same thing as A1? That might be pretty important point taking into account they can run all day long :D Just wondering which one to choose.
      Edit: after buying - energy draw it has is so small that I'd treat this argument as insignificant.

      Do you still use the mini more than the a1? Debating between the two and can’t decide if I’ll need the more space of the a1 or not.

    I've been running the same Ender 3 V2 Neo for over 2 years now, almost nonstop... but I finally decided (literally minutes ago) to purchase an A1. Their other offerings of the P1S and X1C look amazing, I just could never justify the price. The A1 came to ~$350 for me (which includes shipping) and that's pretty awesome.

  • @PaulB-justme

    I bought the A1 Mini without the AMS. I was planning on printing items for model railways, and thought that I would only be printing stuff in one colour, and then painting them. However, I did also want to make a few decorative items, including mods for the printer. Fast forward to now - my wife has seen what the A1 Mini can do, and had me printing flexi dragons for a friend's wedding (to keep the kids happy!) She is now asking me why I didn't get the AMS, as I could have been printing Christmas presents and decorations - but she has hinted that she might get it for me for an early Christmas present... 😃🥰

That fact should relieve the skeptical parent. Thanks for the insight. I have students at the elementary school wanting to know which machine they should be asking for Christmas. I've been having the same problem - I've stared at both printers since the sale started and I can't decide what to get.
    It'll be my first printer since I gave up the hobby 7 years ago, and I love how automated they are. But I also can't help but feel that I would rather wait for a sequel for the P1S, given that with the AMS, it's a far cleaner package, and for me, space comes at a premium.
    With that, I've been having a mind to buy an A1 mini for the time being, but the arguably fractional price difference between the A1 mini and the A1 have made the decision hard. Additionally, seeing everyone gush over the Combo for the A1/A1 mini has me wondering if I should give up on wanting/waiting for a P1S sequel for material diversity that comes on enclosed printers and just settle for PLA/PETG on the A series.
    There's no end to this rabbit hole 🫠

    After running over 5000hrs on my a1 and 3000 on my mini's over the last year, the mini is more beginner friendly since you dont have to worry about biting off more than you can chew. The mini seems more stable, but it also pints much shorter in height. I love both of them and recommend starting small to see if you even like printing. You can always upgrade. Cant wait for the new H2D, so i can stop having to cut up big prints. Overall, you really cant go wrong with either. There is still going to be issues that you are going to have to learn from, but the curve is far less steep than some of the tinker level printers on the market.

After six months use I have gone for the AMS as I can now appreciate what I can use it for and that it would be useful. Would have been cheaper at the time I got the Mini but at least I know I will find it useful. Ideal for a beginner and it is easier to set-up and print than an HP or Epson paper printer!

    Just purchased the A1 combo in the sale with a few spools and a couple of different hot ends for about half the price I paid for my Prusa. I originally started like many with an Ender 3 and I am gobsmacked as to how much printers have advanced since then. The A1 is mind blowing in what it does for the price, not had a failed print yet and the quality of the prints is fantastic, I just load a print up and forget about it which is a world away from what I was used to. It has printed years old PLA that has been in my shed perfectly without drying, I was not expecting that. I printed the official top mount in PETG which was a 1st for me and it's perfect. I'm glad I believed the hype as for me this is the perfect printer. Now to sell the heavily modified Ender and the Prusa MK3 S and that should pay for this.

    I started with the X1C with AMS which is a bit overkill and then added the standalone A1 Mini, no AMS. If I could only buy one, I would get the A1 combo with the AMS. I don't do a lot of multicolor printing but one of the most under-rated features of the AMS is having 4 filament options on standby ready to go and easily swapping any one of them out. I rarely change filament colors on my A1 mini as it's a bit of a pain, so the X1C is my go to unless I can use whatever color I have in the mini, which I otherwise prefer printing with because it is so much quieter. Bottom line, get the AMS with whatever printer you get, it just makes printing that much simpler, even if you rarely do multicolor.

    I have never used a 3d printer, but I design 3d models and send files to a print shop to do the print job for me, I'm considering buying A1 mini combo. since most of my models are not big. but I heard about the problem with moisture on the filament. Is the really the trouble that leads to print quality and how to fix it?
    I know 3d printing makes noise and smell. so if my room does not have good ventilation. Any suggestion to do? Make enclosure, etc..
    THank you.

    • @LoyalMoses
      @LoyalMoses  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That is a great choice for a printer! Moisture very much depends on where you live, and can be easily managed with the bags the filament comes in, some desiccant packs and or a dryer.
      As for ventilation, fresh air is always recommended by me, especially if the printer is in a living space.

    I just got an A1 combo. I got it because I liked the fact I could print a mount for the AMS to be top mounted, plus I wanted 2 decent sized printers (I felt the A1 mini combo would take up too much room with no top mount options, it makes sense since it is cantilevered why you can't top mount the AMS). I have a SV08 for fast and good quality/big prints and the A1 combo for multi colored stuff or when I don't want to use the SV08. I have also barely used Bambu Studio, I've just been using the app on my phone which is so damn good! I have also already printed some stuff that used the full build plate of the A1.
    The A1 retired my heavily modifed Ender 3 v2 (which is basically a S1 with everything I have done to it) which is now just becoming the printer I test/tinker on with new firmware and stuff. I would have loved the A1 mini though. I see Sovol is coming out with a SV08 mini so if I need a tiny printer, I think I will get that, but if that turns out to be bad (from reviews etc) then I will get the A1 mini. I love this hobby but it is expensive 😂😬

    • @LoyalMoses
      @LoyalMoses  หลายเดือนก่อน

      SV08 is a fun machine and I agree, that top mount for the A1 is just cool. I saw a mod recently to top mount the AMS-Lite for the A1 mini... YES, you read that right, it was an interesting mod with a leg printed to support it. I am not sure how I felt about it.

      @LoyalMoses  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don't think it would be too complex at all! The Bambu Lab Handy App makes printing from the phone / iPad simple. You can easily teach how to use the slicer on the computer with the defaults. I am super confident that they will pick it up so fast!

    My thoughts. . . The A1 vs A1 mini debate is like the Camry vs Corolla. Unless budget constraints are hurting. . . Just get the A1 combo. It keeps options open, even if the A1 mini is the best bang for the buck
    Budget wise, the (A1 mini) Corolla wins. . . But getting the Camry will just feel better and carry all your crap from IKEA when you need it.

    Already having a x1c, I bought a mini combo as a secondary printer. Being at 1600 problem free hours with my x1c after a year and half, the mini gives a well merited rest to my x1c taking care of the smaller print or those that don't need fancy filament. I sometime regret not having bought the bigger A1 but all and all, the mini simply fill the needs I bought it for. Now, All I need is a bigger Bambu Lab printer... 😅

Im looking for a cheaper second printer. I think the A1 mini because its smaller snd cheaper but then there is the cost of the build plates and stuff like that, which is why i was thinking of the A1 i don't need to buy more build plates. Actually, im have trouble thinking of another reason other than the build plate cost to buy the a1 mini. I thought I had more reasons

      Mini is such a cool printer and you already have that larger build volume.

    Im trying to sell enuf 3d prints to purchase a A1 with combo .. ive showed at bazaars but people want multicolor prints not just solid colors.. i dont want to get the anycubic multicolor becuz it still has software issues unlike the A1 .. i know my profits will get bigger with multicolor prints .. just saving for one in this economy is super hard right now .

    It doesn't matter which one you buy. Your gonna end up with both of them anyways :P

    I've got 4x X1C and I'm selling them all,... The printers are good in print quality and speed, but they're not designed to be serviced... Once a non-replaceable parts breaks after warrenty,... good luck! I'm going for the better serviceable printers (and learned my lesson).
    It's not a real bash against Bambu, for the majority consumers they're good (enough). But for pro-sumers like me, no...
