- Chris Stuckmann reviews Saw II, starring Tobin Bell, Donnie Wahlberg, Shawnee Smith, Erik Knudsen, Franky G, Glenn Plummer, Emmanuelle Vaugier, Beverley Mitchell, Timothy Burd, Dina Meyer. Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman.
The twist at the end of this movie was so good that when they made Jigsaw, they were like "uhhh... we'll just do that again."
They did it better in saw 2 than saw 4, although the twist in saw 4 was just as good
And Saw 4.. and Saw 7.. and Spiral..
@@tmac326 Saw 4 gave hints throughout the movie about the twist. That's the difference between 2 & 4. In 2, it came out of nowhere that she was the apprentice. In saw 4, it was indirect hinting that you had to add together the clues
@@szlava3641 2 also has hints throughout that Amanda isn't who she claims to be.
Chris Stuckmann always makes my October memorable with his Annual Halloween Special. The intros of these videos hype me up so much
Saw 2 will always be my favourite Saw movie. The Venus-Fly trap at the beginning is my favourite trap.
It is kind of poetic to me how Jigsaw's Venus Fly Trap is literally the inverse of the iconic Reverse Bear Trap. We were introduced to the latter in the first film (all the way back to its marketing), then see its mechanical opposite for the sequel's opening. Some may argue that the Reverse Bear Trap is more gruesome & creative, but there's something to be said for the simplicity of what's essentially a miniature Iron Maiden built for the face.
saw 3 is really good too
People are begging for a Joker review but idgaf. I just want to hear Chris’s thoughts on Megalopolis.
He’s no longer an actual movie critic. He refuses to say anything negative about a movie, which is a huge chunk of that job. He should retire this channel.
I think the idea is that he just talks about the movies he likes now. When you're in the film industry you can't burn bridges with fellow directors/studios@@donkeypuncher81
@@donkeypuncher81 If you click unsub and dont recommend the channel he would literally be retired to you, but instead you are watching and commenting, is all good in your brain?
@@masaboihIt's almost like he was a really big fan of Chris when he was still being honest about movies and he hopes Chris returns to that format. Don't be a di*k. Lots of us just want him to give honest opinions about all the movies he sees, even if they are bad.
@@masaboihyaknow what, imma do that. Literally not even sure why i watch him anymore. Even if a movie sucks, completely, there is always one moment for every one to enjoy. Dude cant even say that at least
I enjoyed Saw 2, specially because it had multiple people working together to solve several traps with their own issues. And the mind game between Jigsaw and the detective was interesting.
The first 3 Saw movies are my favorites, and Saw X is right beside them. I love the teacher/student relationship that grows between John and Amanda.
The first 3 movies were actually great horror movies not only gore and violent kills
10 was a return to quality as well
Saw X are actually pretty good and also Saw 6 too.
The saw 5 ending is the best
Saw 6 was great too. Better than 3. And Saw X was great. 4 and 5 are good. 7 was the first one that was honestly crappy. Jigsaw and Spiral both felt a bit pointless.
I think you mean first 2
The rest are torture porn
Some super salty people here. Dude doesn't review movies he doesn't like. It's his channel and his choice. People get to wrapped up over nothing. Chill out.
Yeah I don't get it either, there are so many movie channels that they could get what they're looking for.
he could also be taking his time gathering his thoughts on it or even , hasn’t seen it yet lol.
@@999dawnfmif you’re talking about the new Joker, he saw it, but I’m assuming he didn’t like it because 1) he didn’t talk about it, & 2) he didn’t put a heart next to it on Letterboxd which he usually does for films he likes.
A lot of those people are Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, MauLer, EFAP, etc, watchers who are just regurgitating the same talking points said by them.

This is the best sequel in the franchise. Love that Jigsaw had an accomplished
Bro hated Joker
If it's the new one I agree. That wss awful
Both Joker movies suck, who cares?
Art is subjective. Crazy, right?
Obviously. He tries so hard to not criticize films that he doesn't wanna make an entire video NOT criticizing Joker. Do you remember how bad that Madame Web Review was? 😂
First one was ok.
For everybody wondering about his thoughts on the new “Joker” movie (which is insane everybody’s still wondering about it because he’s made it clear since the middle of 2021 that he will not review movies he doesn’t like)
He saw the film. It’s safe to say he didn’t like it.
People need to understand that Chris has abandoned his "movie critic" focus of his channel a long long time ago, and instead focus on "movie appreciation" since he's now in the industry and knows how difficult it is to make a movie. Not excusing abandoning his entire following or being selective to the point of being seen as a shill, but I understand that viewpoint

@@J___0926 As soon as they announced Lady Gaga would be in it, I knew it would be a shitshow.

I honestly love the second one for just being a more straightforward version of the first movie while also giving us more Tobin. Easily one of the better Saw flicks, even if the later ones are more fun lol

The Best of the Saw Franchise. Change me mind.
Honestly that twist singlehandedly turned the entire movie from cash grab B horror to masterpiece

Looking forward to meeting Shawnee again next weekend, she's coming back to the UK for a con
Saw 1 - 3 I loved, Saw IV gave a bit more background but the quality really dipped after that for me.
Agreed, Saw I-IV as a quadrilogy feels essential, all the stories are linked, characters are continuously developing. After that, not many characters are left and series tries to start over with mixed results.
Saw 6 and X get it back on track
Saw 6 is good aswell outside of the first 3 movies
They made a shit ton of money on me too :)
My college friend and I had a tradition to go and see newest Saw every Halloween (starting with Saw II).
The first one we saw at my friend’s house on his PC back in high school. It was a perfect movie for a bunch of teenagers who loved horrors.
Probably not too much of a hot take but my favorite sequels in order would be X, II and VI. Crazy that they went back to proper form on the TENTH movie of the franchise, I was so excited for XI this year before they delayed it.
One of my favorite traps in this movie was the Magnum key hole. There must be something crazy about me 😂
just the delivery of “don’t do this” *does this* -POP- …. *theater erupts in laughter*
The Saw franchise is one of the best in the horror genre period.
My most vivid memory of this movie was learning that the pronunciation of "Xavier" in english is "Ecksayvier"
always thought it was savye
I would love for you to review Terrifier 3.
Chris, I would love to see you review MAY (2002) ✂.. one of the most overlooked horror films ever, and it takes place during Halloween
Saw 2 always has a special place in my heart as a horror fan. Being that I saw as a kid and immediately enjoyed it.
Can’t believe we’re on the 12 Halloween Special! Always great when it comes around, nice cozy viewing.
LOVE Saw 2. I feel like it's a perfect sequal. Ups literally every aspect from the original: 1 room = entire house. 2 people = group. limited traps = tons of traps, etc etc. and but the pacing and twist is fantastic. Many sequals either do the same as the first again, or try to do something completely different. This movie did both - the same thing, completely differently.
Chris! Why no Joker 2 review yet? I need to hear it from you
James Wan like saved Donnie Wahlberg's career! Between this and Dead Silence the guy did some really solid acting.
Stuckman Where's the Joker 2 Review?
lifetime fan here! would honestly love you to review the entire franchise, i think it is incredibly underrated
that twist rocked my 17 year old brain
Saw 2 the scene where dude pushes the chick into the needle pit is probably my favorite moment in the franchise
Remove the context and what a wild sentence to say.
Love the halloween specials. Chris 👌 always gets me in the spirit
My mom was working at the movie theater when Saw 2 came out. I didn't see the first one the previous year because I was too scared but then in the projection room at the end of 2 the Mudvayne song Forget to Remember came on and I had to see how it lead to that song. I've been hooked ever since!
Happy Halloween!

So happy to see the Halloween Special back!
Really this was the ideal sequel. Saw II isn't bloated by the mythology that drags down the later films, but it's also not too overly focused on just being a torture porn extravaganza. Also Tobin Bell just sat at a desk talking in his understated manner as people's lives hang in the balance is way scarier than any of the traps.
Having trypanophobia, I nearly passed out at the needle pit scene.
Damn, every simp has a phobia nowadays. Maybe humans in generals dont like the idea of falling in a stack of needles, whoop de doo
The 'Needle Pit' trap still freaks me out. Just everything it needed to be.
I love this franchise. My partner and I are watching it together now for October. Just did Saw 7 a few hours ago. I'm a sucker for how interconnected all the movies are even when they're goofy and over the top they're still a ton of fun.
Man I love the Halloween Specials
I know you've already reviewed it long time ago but I'd love if you talk about Perfect Blue again.
Also, how about a Wes Anderson movie review for your next feature presentation?
I’m here for the review joker 2 comments. 💀
Cause you are a kid. Move on with life
Joker 2 honest review??? Come on Chris. You even done a joker 2 trailer breakdown
Saw 2 is still my favorite. When I was like 8 or 9 I thought it’d be a good idea of a story for people to be trapped in a house (I wasn’t super sheltered I was already watching horror) so to see someone put it in a movie was so cool to me.
The twist ending of Saw II is still my favorite out of all the films, my jaw dropped when I watched it the first time.
Awesome, always wanted to hear your point of view on other Saw movies. Hope that you do reviews for other installments also.
Probably the best of the Saw movies. Even the Venus Fly Trap made it's way into the games as an iconic kill!
Chris where did you buy this sweater??? I need to buy two now
I remember my freshman year of university when a bunch of the kids in my dorm all got together to watch all the SAW movies that had come out at the time throughout the month of October. I'd always heard the stories from my older sister about how scary bloody they were, and having not had much experience with scary movies at that age, I decided to join along. Out of all the SAW movies I watched that month, I think the traps from SAW 2 stuck with me the most. That dirty needle pit was by far the one that makes me squirm even today when I think about it. These movies are just a fun gore fest.
Leland Palmer does that joker breaking something and putting it in his pocket thing in Twin Peaks. Id love to see what the first instace of that kind of gag is
This is my favourite time of year on your channel
I'm a fan of and have all the Saw films on DVD. Not sure what that says about me!
"It will be like finding a needle in a haystack."
“Mr Feeny!”- eric mathews
the RING being front center at the start makes me extra happy
Followed by the grudge! I don't like spiritual/possession horror films because I think they're dumb. But I do like those 2!
The Saw franchise is great.

My cousins took me to see this movie when it came out. I was 8. We had to leave during the needle scene cause I couldnt handle it. This movie is the reason I didnt watch anything horror till I was about 17 when I watched the Friday the 13th series for the first time when James Rolfe did that marathon many years ago. But yes this is a good movie lmao
Dude taking an 8 year old to this is kinda irresponsible lol
His hate for joker is immeasurable and his day was ruined
We need the terrifier 3 review 🔥
We're here! October is here! Man I almost missed it!
Saw 2 is very much like 2 Fast 2 Furious; it cared about the original and wanted to expand on it before it just got crazy and redeemed itself later (Fast Five) before once again, going weird.
Saw II is easily my favorite entry! Awesome sweater been trying to find it!
Saw 2 is one of my favorites. Love your reviews Chris!
Intro shot was cool, exposing Blade's shades.
You didn't really mention one of the biggest parts of the twist. Jigsaw tells detective Mathews that if he just talks to him, he'll find his son in a safe place, and his son is literally inside a safe in the room with them.
Always love Stuckman in October!
You had the opportunity to put the Saw 2 vhs there 😮
I think "Saw III" has the best story, characters and traps.
Yet... II just somehow is the best overall film. Pace, atmosphere and excitement.
Saw II. The movie that my parents couldn't finish watching.........😅😅............No joke, my parents my made me and my sister stay in our room while they watched it in the living room, and I remember catching a glimpse of a shot or two of the scene where the SWAT team is infiltrating the factory where Jigsaw is early on in the film, and that was all I saw of this movie until I watched it as an adult, and, similar to Saw VI and Saw X, Saw II is one of my favorite sequels in the franchise, and I can't wait to marathon this franchise after I see the original in theaters on the 20th!!!!!!!!!!
Saw II is where Kramer was at his most sinister. We can see how much of a monster he truly is.
I called out Amanda as an accomplice very early...It was so obvious, but the video got me good, great ending.
Yo, Chris! I don't think I've seen a review for Antlers (2021) on your channel yet. If you haven't checked it out, I recommend it!
I think Saw was very well done adding to the story with each installment.
I'd honestly say this is the best film in the whole Saw franchise. It is the best blend of story, traps, ending twist, and cast
Hello, Chris. I want to play a game. Why did the movie review cross the road? To get to the ‘Saw’ side.
what??
I love the first one but 2 is my personal favorite. Watched it so many times as a pre-teen/teenager that I actually wore out my VHS tape.
You were still using VHS in 2006 for Saw 2? Bluray was already coming out that year thats wild. My family switched to DVD around 1999.
My girlfriend and I rewatched(and a few of the newer ones, watched for the first time) last October, and aside from Spiral, I enjoyed them all to different levels.
Chris just made a movie produced by Mike freaking Flanagan. And some people here still think TH-cam is Chris’s full time job? lmao. He doesn’t need to review Joker 2 if he doesn’t want to
What are you yapping about, if anything making an indie horror movie like that COSTS you money instead of earns money. If it does well he might make a profit sure, but the movie isnt even out yet.

@@123rockfan Blud, Chris stuckmann literally had to do a crowd funding campaign and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund his movie and somehow he is suppose to make bank with this movie? yeah after it comes out, maybe. but atm is a financial burden, more than anything. Most of Hollywood can really learn a lesson from the horror genre, you dont need a big spectacle and big budget to make a good movie, most of the good movies we get these days are small budget indie horror films
I saw the band Korn last night and the person next to me had a saw jacket on and I said I love the jacket I just watched saw 1-3 a few days ago. And said ha I just watched saw 4-6 last night I was like wtf that’s crazy. And now today I wake up and see you talking about Saw 2 how cool. But yeah Korn was awesome 10/10 show
I wonder if you’re going to review vacancy (2007) and 8mm (1999) as well
I can say Eric Matthews eventual death later in the franchise was brutal
daw that letterbox review and knew this banger was comin
I would like to hear your take on The Keep from Michael Mann.
I love Saw 2. Its weird though, the first film has the iconic saw-ed off leg leg on the cover, this, has two fingers, like...when and where and to who did that happen in the movie? And what about Saw 3's pulled teeth? They didnt start pulling teeth til later on in the franchise, lol. Not a knock, just always found that strange
That part when the girl gets both of her hands stuck in the box is so goofy she should have put both hands in one hole instead of one hand in each.
Yooo, are you going to review Joker 2?
While I think the 3rd one is good as well, I feel like the series peaked here with its torture and puzzle concepts.
Saw 7 was the peak when it came to torture.

So true about character in a tv show becoming better as it goes along. The one that sticks out to me is Quinn from Dexter
Also, Saw ll is to me the best twist by a good bit and the best movie of the franchise. Think mostly because of the chemistry between Tobin Bell and Wahlberg
Chris was a Johvah Witness?!
I love this time of the year
Wow...no 2 minute commercial? Bring back the commercials 😂
I think this is my favorite one in the franchise. Tobin Bell is just awesome to watch. I really didn't care about anybody else stuck in the murder house but I liked all the stuff with jigsaw a lot.
This being said, I also haven't seen the majority of these films. I've seen the first three, spiral, and saw X. I really didn't like the third one so I stopped watching the rest there but spiral piqued my interest and then so did saw X with all the good reviews. But this one is still the one I like the best

Saw II stays with me because of the incinerator scene. Holy hell that was traumatic.
