    Hi Peter,
    Another great video.
    PAD stands for ‘Pre-Assembly Depot’.
    This is where civil engineering stock is put together & loaded with appropriate loads.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Peter, I have more or less the same with my class 37 Carl Haviland. Every time I run it the amps go over .90 on step speed 28 (5) with sound on. It shorts out the entire layout. I had to produce a video of it happening on my rolling road for Accurascale and I have sent it to them for repair this week. I had no idea it was the motor so thanks so much for your video. I only worked out what the problem was once I got my new alpha meter a few weeks ago from DCCConcepts, very useful bit of kit. Thanks again!

    Hi Peter, the shunting with the 350 showing the automatic coupling using the magnets looks really good. That’s got to be one of the best running sessions you’ve done to date with some awesome low camera angles.
    Thanks for sharing

      Thanks very much Andy. Yes I can now remove an area of fence that allows me to get closer shots and still put it back afterwards :0

    Hi Peter, great video again, I have sent my ROG back to Accurascale 5 weeks ago. Doing the same. Intermittent running, I have posted a little video. A few weeks ago. Not heard anything back yet. Disgusted, alot of money just to be left waiting. But trying to stay calm. It Seems alot of people are still waiting. And more postage costs on me too. I still have some more of video to watch, 👍🏻👍🏻Thank you for sharing. ATB to you.Stuart

      Hi Stuart, Oh my 5 weeks eek. Hoping my new motors will do the trick myself. I get feedback from followers saying they have no problems, so let's hope this was a bad batch.
      All the best Peter

    Hi Peter, I have ten of the class 37s from Accurascale. I have adjusted some cvs on mine though. Cv53 I set to 130 and cv5 I set to 180. I've not had any problems with mine. 😊 John JMC

      Hi John, good to know. Bound to be some bad samples out there when you think of how many are made. Pretty confident that the new motors will sort it now.
      Thanks for getting in touch, all the best Peter

    Enjoyed the running sessions, that Cavalex 56 in large logo looks great it's a shame they are all sold out. The motor issue with the Accurascale locos hopefully will be down to a bad batch and not a particular manufacturer. Unless the brush gear has been modified on later motors, then the same will happen with the new replacement motors. Years ago, when Lima diesels were the mainstay, it was very easy to strip and clean the motors when they needed attention. Today's models are much more complex to disassemble than the old Lima and Hornby models of old.

    Brilliant update Peter, very enjoyable watch, hopefully the motor issues are resolved now, I’m still waiting for my 37 to be returned from Accurascale, really like the coupling you’ve made in action , I think it’s brilliant! Cheers Darrell

      Thanks Darrell. Yes hopefully a new motor from a different batch will fix it. Yes the home made coupling allows me to have high detail each end of a loco yet can still pull stock around.
      All the best Peter

    Hi ya Peter.
    Glad the 37s are sorted.
    Just did my local exhibition yesterday at March did a vlog on it, but I can't get to the London one. So hopefully I'll see you at GETS if you go.
    Great running session as usual buddy. Thank you.
    Stay safe Peter.

    Sorry to hear about the motor issues with the Accurascale 37s i dont own any Accurascale locos and to be honest it puts me of buying one so many people have had issues.
    Brilliant running session great to watch.

    good morning Peter, as always love your running sessions, your rolling stock looks amazing, back to your 37's and their motors what is the 'cause' of the problem, other motors don't appear to have the same problem only the accurascale, it is a concern that they continue to reproduce the same fault even after your repair, they are still relatively new we are all hoping for many years of running out of these loco's it does appear we may be disappointed regards Ron

    • @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162
      @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Ron it's either the brushes wearing and causing particles to clog and short circuit the commutator's gaps, or the commutator itself wearing particles off and clogging/shorting. I"m hoping this may be down to when the motors were made when there was a shortage of raw materials and companies had trouble finding alternative sources. So here's hoping these motors are beyond that now
      All the best Peter

    Hi Peter love all your videos must have seen all of them I'm about to get a NRM class66 evening star which comes with the bells I see in one of your older videos you fitted the bells can you tell me if you had to drill the body work to fit them as I see there is a small peg on the bracket thanks Peter

      @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Andy, yes I did drill a very fine hole. Or you could cut the peg off flush with the base if that suits

    Fantastic running and angles for the shots... really cool. You always manage to make it different and brilliant. It is a shame about the 37 motors, though. Not sure why it seems consistent across some channels and even commentors below.

    Unless you change the motor you will be forever cleaning them! Life is too short for that! If you remember when i contacted you before I was the first person to report this to Accurascale with a full report on exactly what the problem was. I went direct to a factory in China and had a batch of higher spec. motors manufactured. I have fitted these to over 30 locos now and never had a single problem (some of your followers are running my motors!). There are video clips on my page, (other popular website!) 'Hillside Junction' of 37's running with the new motors. People say they are even smoother than the Accurascale motor from new.

      @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep I get you Cliff. Gosh well done on knowing how to contact the factory and get them done to your own spec. Would you mind letting me know if it's possible if these are available? I would be interested

      Which Motors are these exactly? Higher quality ones for Accurascale?

  • @theeventhorizon-valebridge9512
    @theeventhorizon-valebridge9512 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I said repeatedly from the start when all three of my 92's motors failed in the same way after a few days that Accurascale had a serious problem. I was abused and shouted down by the then Accurascale smitten modelling hardcore community who just could not accept that their dream loco was not the messiah! Since then EVERY Accurascale loco (all ranges) I've had (13 in total) has failed in the same way or/and had lighting and sound issues. Most have been returned.
    The motor problem:
    It must be either the brushes wearing and causing particles to clog and short circuit the commutator's gaps, or the commutator itself wearing particles off and clogging/shorting. The fact that these were being assembled around the time of the pandemic outbreak makes me wonder whether they had material, component and supply issues in China. Lets hope their new class 66, 33 and 50 launch has addressed this motor issue, or their reputation for poor reliability could be terminal! Needing to constantly use their guarantee is not sustainable. Yes, their customer service is super, but it shouldn't be needed!
    Thanks for the channel Peter, great stuff. Regards Julian

    • @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162
      @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Julian, totally agree with you regards the cause, otherwise why did the motor work so well after cleaning . Let's hope the issue came up when there was a shortage of supplies and company had to chase around in order to meet production deadlines and use unknown/untried components. Will see how these new motors hold up, whatever happens will let folks know either way
      All the best Peter

    Hi Peter, please could you let me know which magnetic couplers you have installed..Gerry Bristol

    • @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162
      @torridonroadbypeterdixon4162  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Gerry, the normal run of the mill couplers are from West Hill Wagon Works, Hunts or Elite. The ones fitted to the locos are ones I customised from what were broken couplings and I was able to use the magnets from them.
      Cheers Peter
