My wife just bought a 2013 kia soul a few weeks ago. Sometimes when she starts it the needle for the RPMs doenst move but the car still drives but theres a lag to it. So what she does is keeps turning on and off the keys until the needle decides to move then the car will function normal.. also sometimes the vehicle won't start right away it will take like 10 minutes. Could all this be pointing towards fuel pump
If the needle for the RPM doesnt move, then the cluster could be going bad, the car operate normally with out it working. For the car no start, 2 things could be going bad. Either starter or fuel pump. Bad starter would react the same way you said, sometime you have to wait few minutes so it can start again. A no start could be bad fuel pump not priming the fuel up to the engine.
@Ah_Duuu_Ma ok awesome....I'm looking at an assembly they have at AutoZone I'm thinking it's just the guts to the fuel pump for 57.99 TruGrade puel pump A1126EP will that work because a whole pump itself is 577.00
I have to do this soon on my 2010 Soul 2.0. The diagnostic test also recommended changing the fuel pump pressure regulator. Do you think I can just replace the fuel pump assembly without the regulator? Car has been hard starting (usually turns after keying on 3 times) and I have to baby the gas pedal to get the speed up or else it will lose all acceleration and stall out. Thanks for the videos.
@@Ah_Duuu_Ma where is the regulator located on the 2.0 automatic? Fuel pump seems easy enough to do myself but not sure where the regulator is. Thanks again.
The one on the fuel pump, which is fuel pressure sensor, "how much pressure is the fuel tank building up". The fuel pressure regulator which is on the fuel rail, "regulate how much fuel is going into the fuel rail". if there's is code for either one, then replace the one the code show up. Most of the time is the fuel pump with fuel pressure sensor.
Excellent video man! Question for you I have a 2016 Kia Soul 1.6 l engine I'm not getting any codes but when I run my scan tool and go to the section where it says FRP if I'm remembering it correctly, turn the car on I can see it going from 200 PSI to 500 and sometimes PSI. I hit the question mark on the scan tool and it comes up and says fuel pressure. So I'm assuming that I have to replace that part. I searched all over online and it said the fuel pressure regulator is located in the engine on the driver's side of the intake manifold. I want to AutoZone and I am using that ally data website and it's saying that the fuel pressure regulator is in the fuel tank itself the fuel pump. Now I saw you replace that entire fuel pump. Okay two questions one is the fuel pressure regulator located in the fuel pump and if so can you remove it and replace it or is that really? And is that where it's really located or is it in the engine next to the manifold I can't see it I read online a couple places where they said it's located behind the intake would you know anything about this it really helped me out a hell of a lot if you can give me some advice on this. Thank you. RENMAN
Hope you got an answer, if you didn't maybe this will help: There are two fuel pumps. One is what you think of, the pump that sends the fuel to the engine. So this is the High Pressure fuel pump, and it's mounted right on top of your motor once you remove the cowl. It's a small roundish thingy.. Look it up under High Pressure fuel pump for your make and model, about $150 give or take in my area, easy install. Best wishes, hope this helps, if you're still looking!
@@JohnnieVega20 if its too cheap, you buying poor quality part. Sometime could be defected and dont fit right. It could last maybe 1 week or 1 year til it break, never know and fix it again. You get for what you paid.
Thank you for making this! Perfectly explained. You’re a lifesaver
Thank you for posting this! Saved me a bunch of time and money!
Got to be careful with the kia soul. My fuel pump is failing, but is not giving me no code or check engine light.
Man inflation has opened my eyes to just how easy most of the stuff im paying an arm and a leg for is.
Awesome video, clear and concise. Thanks!

what is the normal sounds of the pump? is it a constant humming or an intermittent clicking?
Should be humming when it priming gas up. No clicking sound.
This goes all the way to 2017 Kia souls?
@@danielsjourney8475 if its the same engine and same set up for the fuel pump.
What if I changed and it's leaking thru the top?
If you replaced it and still leak. Check the o-ring and the fuel lines.
500 dollars for a E9027M fuel pump?

Where are you getting $300 from? I’m seeing it for like $50😂

@ I totally agree, but I can’t find a part you’re saying for that much. I’m seeing the part for like $50-$80 max.
