Thank you so much for that description of how a ball drilled pin up will work differently compared to a ball drilled pin down! Even almost 10 years later Randy Pedersen is still a legend! BTW I’m just about to get a MOTIV Black Venom drilled today!
Props to the PBA for putting these kind of shows on youtube instead of taking down everyone else's attempts. Just like WWE, they are finally getting with the times. Thank god.
Wes Malott - 1:02:20 - that's also how I bowl. I start off looking through the arrows down lane but when I release at the foul line my eyes are looking down directly at it. I thought I was the only one!
"I want to leave a legacy like Mark Roth did. I want to be in that class." Mike J may not have known that at the time, but that became such a true statement by the end of that decade.
I love bowling but only start playing it more seriously recently. I wouldn't say I'm that great I use to play 8 or 9 times a year and average about a 125 but now that I purchased my own ball and shoes I've been playing weekly for the last month and I'm averaging 165, mainly off spares usually only get 2 strikes. I only have a Brunswick Rhino 11lb ball so its more a spare ball than anything but I'm looking at getting a 14lb Storm Agent ball I've been watching these championship tournaments to try improve my game
1:12 I Love this music who does this music and i heard this same one from the 2017 pba league between NYC Kingpins vs Hitmen where did you get the music.
I find that i still love jason belmontes shot but i dont know, hes changed i honestly dunno if the change is better or not but hes definitely changed. Maybe its his shots or his comments?
Yeah i'm lost on why he said "sorry", that is the first time i've ever heard anyone say sorry for getting a lucky strike. Most times when i'm bowling and someone gets a lucky strike, they say they'll take it! lol
demetryce2001 it's a politeness thing, especially in the pros the bowlers respect the luckiness of a Brooklyn strike and will apologize for getting the strike.
***** It's just the standard with the players. None of them actually feel sorry about it. It's the same with a tennis player having a shot clip the net and fell in for a winning point. They apologize for those, too. It's just people trying to uphold good sportsmanship.
Hook potential is based on a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest. They don't show spare balls. And also, professionals mainly use 15 pound balls. A few still use 16 but other than that, as far as men's bowling goes, that's about it for weight.
I like Wes Malott, but his stroke isn’t so satisfying to watch compared to someone like Barrett or Macelland. Kind of reminds me of Walter Ray Williams Jr. great bowler but odd looking throw.
Tp emphasized my point that the "actions" of the pins control the destiny of the games I even witness live a pin after being knock down, it stood up! Or the pin no. 10 remained standing, because it was not hard enough. But the next frame, it happened again but a pin hit it strong enough to knock it down.
How many people do you actually think started off bowling two-handed? My little brother couldn't hold the ball, so he used two hands. But I'm pretty sure that most are just switching over from one hand to two hands and I don't really like that.
Most people have a story, I started one handed with my own ball and no hook, while bowling I ripped all the skin off my thumb because the ball wasn't drilled correctly, so I swapped to two handed so that I could actually finish bowling, after seeing all the revs I gained I stayed with it, my average tanked about 30 pins till I learned how to throw it more consistently, now I'm around a 190 average (league shot, not sport shot xD) there are days I wish I could actually bowl one handed because I have too many revs now, but I am not coordinated enough to switch back and is have to drop from my 16 to like a 12 xD
In this game Mallot and Barret were victims of No. 10 not falling down just when they needed it most that's why the results was 204 vs. 205 for Mallot. Another proof the actions of the pins control the destiny of the game.
These champions never learned. Just because they did not get the desired results they changed their games right away. Don't they realized by now it is still the "actions" of the pins that matter? Sometimes the no. 1 pin remained standing then some pin(s) from the back will knock it down. Or they hit the "sweet spot" or whatever the call it, it resulted in a split? Just be consistent in the approach and they will have a consistent game results.
These pros must hate playing all those three game series to get here..And the finals are just one and done..The lower seed almost has an advantage sometimes..:/
Osku ever said himself he use to bowl one handed but he figured 2 would be more accurate for him. Jason can do more with it then Osku can. I like Osku hes a great bowler but Jason is more smooth and can control it more.
I think that if the strike was lucky then it's not really deserved and that's why you should feel guilty that you got it. I am the kind of guy to apologize after a bad strike as well, but if you don't nobody will think bad of you for it.
Cuz a really good player knows that bad shots should not win titles. At tournaments I don't apologize or anything when I get a brooklyn, but I'll be clearly disgusted by it for two reasons: 1) it means I threw a bad shot and its not fair to those who make good shots and leave corners, 2) it means I might be looking at a Big Four or something like it soon. It's like bragging if you are able to Fool's mate everyone in chess. Bragging about taking advantage is a pretty tool move.
the 1-3 spot for right hand and 1-2 for left are only the best and easier way to strike... but is not like you always have to hit there to get a strike... isnt a rule at all... which means there is not bad shots only good brakes...
In this game it happened again a dastardly one refused to fall down that resulted in 208-209 for Belmonte. With their unlucky pin actions, I as a recreational bowler I probably would have beaten them. hahahaha.
Here in 2024 😅past covid and Elon musk has Android 🤖 human looking robots plus Donald Trump will be the president of the United States again oh yeah we have natural disasters all around the planet 😅😊
your opinion. score card its a strike. a strike is when all 10 pins go down on the first try of a frame. no different then picking up a 7-10 split. just the problem is that the strike could have gone another way. just like if you hit the pocket exactly how you wanted to and most of the time it ends up a strike but this time it does not. then its not a strike.
1:24:48 randy perterson says he hit the pocket every shot. haha. he got the 2-8 to fall should have been 2-8-10 in the 2nd. and in the 4th he rolled a 2 pin. Yea that's for sure hitting the pocket. what a joke. Malott should have won! and in the 8th again he should have left 2-8-10 i guess that was in the pocket also.
he would have split more but with his power it causes alot of pin action which causes splits to be less common or can cause them to be tripped up, its a combination of luck and his style, mallot could have won but he threw a very poor shot in the 10th and thats what made him lose
if these pro bowlers are so good then why don't they use only one bowling ball for every shot instead of six? I think having that many balls makes you look bad.
On one hand I agree with you I think they should have to choose which 2 balls they will use before the match starts and then have to alter their shots to handle lane breakdown. but I can also appreciate that knowing which ball to use and being able to switch balls and adapt your shot accordingly is a big part of what makes these players so damn good!
because even though he has a unique shot. He does not seem to be my type of bowler to follow the only reason i dislike him is because he is not on tv as of recent and there are so many better bowlers
I Love Dom Barrett! He's such an awesome guy! One of the first guys that I've seen apologize for a good break on TV.
Thank you so much for that description of how a ball drilled pin up will work differently compared to a ball drilled pin down! Even almost 10 years later Randy Pedersen is still a legend! BTW I’m just about to get a MOTIV Black Venom drilled today!
❤
Props to the PBA for putting these kind of shows on youtube instead of taking down everyone else's attempts. Just like WWE, they are finally getting with the times. Thank god.
Holy crap....Malott is a GIANT!
I know, right? He's 6'5"!
Wes Malott - 1:02:20 - that's also how I bowl. I start off looking through the arrows down lane but when I release at the foul line my eyes are looking down directly at it. I thought I was the only one!
that was a nice conversation of the super wash out Wes Malott
EJ Tackett… rookie of the year.. what a monster bowler he has become
I just want to say congratulations to Jason Belmonte for winning that title. you bowled your best
If you guys think bowling should be a OLYMPIC sport like this comment! and I am also a 2 handed bowler :D
18:05 " Hey, you got fuckin' 4 more frame's" hahahah
For decades, this event was held in Akron, Ohio and would be the final event of the PBA Winter/early Spring (January through April) tour.
Now it has been held there for the last 3 years
A 246 average? How the hell does Belmo average 246, on a SPORT SHOT? Damn, that man has skill. I shoot one 246 about every 4-5 months. >_>
Yeah, I get scores that high every once in a blue moon, on an easy league pattern no less.
Funny thing, I actually just shot 246 today in open bowling, lol.

1:17:19 1-2-4-6-10 conversion
Belmo's 3rd major
Thunderbowl Lanes is awesome. I bowled there alot.
54:30 the pin went outside of the pin setter machine, how did they take care of that? They didn’t show it on camera
Jason Belmonte does bowl amazingly well in the Tournament of Champions
Now he has the 3-Peat
"I want to leave a legacy like Mark Roth did. I want to be in that class." Mike J may not have known that at the time, but that became such a true statement by the end of that decade.
fittingly the day he won was January 26 Australia day
Pete Weber looks a lot older than 51. Too much hard living.
Crack.
Pete Weber is the G.O.A.T.

ok
I have a Storm Mix 12 pounder and a T-storm from Brunswick which is a 12 pounder. I am a two handed bowler
ok
Read the headlining at the bottom at 46:31
Congratulations Jason Belmonte🥳
I bowl at a AMF center and the pattern is just like this except its 35ft
1:12 I Love this music who does this music and i heard this same one from the 2017 pba league between NYC Kingpins vs Hitmen where did you get the music.
What's the music that plays in the background when Dan MacLelland strikes, anyone know?
Darude - Sandstorm
1:09:05, can anyone tell me if they hear what exactly Barrett says? I can't really tell, but I have an idea!
It sounds like he said “oh you gotta be fucking kidding me”
Belmonte 's 2-8-10 *almost* leave in the 8th frame was the game-winner.
NIKZHARIF
I wonder if all lane oil will be colored at some point. I'd love to have that available
BEST GAME EVER! Congrats to Jason Belmonte! My inspiration bowler!
Literally watched this to go to sleep
go monte go ! close final fight
Randy: "the only way to cover the baby split is getting both pins with the bowling ball"
No shit lol
what is on wes malotts thumb rosin?
Thank you for posting, this was a great telecast. Is there any chance for HD in the future? Thanks again.
I find that i still love jason belmontes shot but i dont know, hes changed i honestly dunno if the change is better or not but hes definitely changed.
Maybe its his shots or his comments?
I think the right lane was a small problem because of the 1st ball change in the title match
why did he say sorry about this shot 56:20?? and what is bad shot?
He said sorry to be polite about it being a "lucky" strike. He didn't hit the right pocket, or area of the pins, thus the pins fell weirdly.

During the Pete Weber talks with that coach guy they didn't bleep out "fucking". Time code for it is 18:07. Wonder if ESPN got fined.
is that the weight of the ball when they show the arsenal in pounds? 9.0 pounds? seems light
No. That's the level of hook potential
Hook potential is based on a scale of 1-10 10 being the highest. They don't show spare balls. And also, professionals mainly use 15 pound balls. A few still use 16 but other than that, as far as men's bowling goes, that's about it for weight.
Vincent Thibodeaux Two of the people still using 16 are:
Sean rash
Missy Parkins (Only Pro woman using 16)
Noozie I think Norm still uses 16, too
the number corresponding to the ball when they show the arsenal means how much hook that ball has. Their actual balls are like fifteen pounds
18:07 we got f*ckin how many more frames, six?
can someone tell me what ball Malott was throwing in the final game?
IQ Tour Fusion
Brandon Sach Thanks. Rewatching the last few frames, I cant believe I didn't see it sooner, i must be going blind
when this happened?
I like Wes Malott, but his stroke isn’t so satisfying to watch compared to someone like Barrett or Macelland. Kind of reminds me of Walter Ray Williams Jr. great bowler but odd looking throw.

Did you saw mallot crying?
who's the bold guy with glasses back with the public? I've seen him lately in bowling games.
Erick G Tom Clark, Commissioner of the PBA.
How many people do you actually think started off bowling two-handed? My little brother couldn't hold the ball, so he used two hands. But I'm pretty sure that most are just switching over from one hand to two hands and I don't really like that.
I switched from two hands to one hand
There is nothing wrong with bowling two handed. I switched from one handed to two handed
why do you care about how someone else bowls?
Most people have a story, I started one handed with my own ball and no hook, while bowling I ripped all the skin off my thumb because the ball wasn't drilled correctly, so I swapped to two handed so that I could actually finish bowling, after seeing all the revs I gained I stayed with it, my average tanked about 30 pins till I learned how to throw it more consistently, now I'm around a 190 average (league shot, not sport shot xD) there are days I wish I could actually bowl one handed because I have too many revs now, but I am not coordinated enough to switch back and is have to drop from my 16 to like a 12 xD
Cry about it then

where did the lisp come from? she never had one before
I believe her lisp is from a retainer or some other such dental device.
Actually, she got a tongue piercing. I know this because I used to work for the PBA. Lol
Osku Palermaa has a stronger shot than BelMonte, but doesn't have as much consistency with the strikes.
wow imagine that...by a dam pin again LOL this is like the third game ive seen him win by a pin by!!
I have never been more sick of "Enter Sandman"...
Nice Metallica In the 4th frame of the title match!
how is this a thing?
I thought I saw walterray at 8:35...
FNS Mirage You did👍🏽
Is Webber a wwe fan?At one point he had HHH's theme as his strike song, now the cm punk theme, and he does the roman reigns fist to the ground.
yep. big wwe fan
Looks like that's why he poses like Triple H after every single strike.
whats up with the quality?
what pair are they using
The annoying music after every strike ranks very high on the obnoxious meter.
1:34:14 He's gonna cry in the car

Pete Webber should not have missed the "baby split" and the 3,6,10. At his skill level those should be a given. A shame.
I think dan should of made that ball change a lot sooner then he did
Michael. Osku has a strong shot. But Jadon has been throwing 2 handed his whole life. So Jason knows more about 2 handed technique then Osku.
osku has been bowling two handed his whole life too, don't know where you thought Jason had been doing it longer..
Osku ever said himself he use to bowl one handed but he figured 2 would be more accurate for him. Jason can do more with it then Osku can. I like Osku hes a great bowler but Jason is more smooth and can control it more.
it was an amazing title match between Jason Belmonte and Wes Malott
Good bowlers like to throw good strikes.
wtf is this resolution omg

Why players say "sorry" when they strike with a bad shoot?... strike is a strike dont matter how u shot...
i get excited when a bad shot carries..it makes up for all the pocket tens left.. thats bowling for u..
I think that if the strike was lucky then it's not really deserved and that's why you should feel guilty that you got it. I am the kind of guy to apologize after a bad strike as well, but if you don't nobody will think bad of you for it.
luck is part of the game... like those 8pin on perfect pocket balls... i dont know i dont think is necessary to apologize :p

What's the song that keeps playing after every shot?
wes mallots song was Enter Sandman by Metallica. not sure what belmos was.
Mettalica's "Sandman"
Charles Waldrop I know Wes', I meant Belmos'. Lol.
Alayren O'Connell Belmos song that comes on is called "All I Do Is Win"
all I do is win by dj kahllid
1:34:38 look what O Neill is holding.
Kimberly Pressler is so hot!!!!!!

A bad strike makes up for a missed 10 pin.
I laugh at the pin up vs pin down segment. #Caca
LET'S GO BELMO.
The music was so, so bad.
No a strike isn't a strike. If it's not were you want it then its a fluke that you got the shot
your opinion. score card its a strike. a strike is when all 10 pins go down on the first try of a frame. no different then picking up a 7-10 split.
just the problem is that the strike could have gone another way. just like if you hit the pocket exactly how you wanted to and most of the time it ends up a strike but this time it does not. then its not a strike.
No Akron, no TofC
Would it kill them to upload this footage in HD.

Zack Mcswain He did hit the pocket on those shots. They just light, heavy, or good shots.
Randy likes to exaggerate
I love ThunderBowl Lanes but their house shot in that arena is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!
Wes Malott is always blaming the audience for his mistakes
Any person
He totally ate that shaving cream.. gross.
malott is a baby eh
The languid value consequentially answer because cork causally soak by a boring danger. annoyed, upset guatemalan
if these pro bowlers are so good then why don't they use only one bowling ball for every shot instead of six? I think having that many balls makes you look bad.
The amount of balls is to adjust to different patterns and break down of oil. All these balls have different reactions.
On one hand I agree with you I think they should have to choose which 2 balls they will use before the match starts and then have to alter their shots to handle lane breakdown. but I can also appreciate that knowing which ball to use and being able to switch balls and adapt your shot accordingly is a big part of what makes these players so damn good!

i realy dislike mallot
David Giessner Why?
because even though he has a unique shot. He does not seem to be my type of bowler to follow the only reason i dislike him is because he is not on tv as of recent and there are so many better bowlers
Mr Man And that makes him a bad guy because...?
