    The Problem with bagless machines is, that nearly all of them can't handle a large amount of dirt in one pass, cause the separation process doesn't work properly anymore, so a lot of dirt directly collects at the filter and because of this, the suction power drops very quick.

    I used to have a hoover air steerable noisy bagless vacuum that barely agitates better than a Dyson DC07 and has spartan airflow. Picked up a Lindhaus DP-5 from a thrift store and the suction motor and brushroll motor sounds so much better than the hoover. It left really nice carpet lines and filled up over half the bag just vacuuming what my crappy bagless hoover has left behind plus 2 months of no vacuuming because I cannot stand the little screamer motor in that hoover.

    I just want a normal bag vacuum. I have bought 2 bagless vacuums, one cost $250, the other about $120. They work great for a few weeks and then don't suck up anything anymore. They cannot handle my house but bag vacuums are been fine. We have 3 indoor cats and 2 of them are long haired, 2 young children, plus we live on a main road so dust and dirt is always being blown in. I need to vacuum at least twice a week. Problem is, I can't find any old vacuums anymore. It is all these bagless crap vaccums at the shops. And they cost so much.

      I know exactly what you mean.
      For example my sister has a big house and a lot of pets.
      She had a cheap bagless blue Volta (seen in my channel). It was constantly losing suction and clogging. Also filter would have constant cleaning. She just didn't have time to do those messy filter cleaning "sessions".
      So I gave her this pink bagged Volta and she is VERY happy now. She said that it's the best vacuum she ever had. Actually She send me thanks messages several times.
      I ordered to her package of bags to it. People often don't realize how easy it is to get bags from the internet stores.
      You can even get bags to old vacuums easily. Those bags aren't even pricey. Bags come to your mailbox. It can't get easier than that.
      So bagged vacuum is must if you wan't to have worry free and effortless vacuum.

    try with some fine dust and see how quickly the bag gets clogged! I've used my Dyson for 9 years, it still works great and never required any parts. How much money have I saved in bags since? Particularly if you consider that good 'branded' bags are expensive.
    I bought a bagged vacuum for my rented house some time ago. It worked great and I was kind of disappointed that maybe I just wasted money on the Dyson when I purchased it. 3/4 rooms later it clearly lost half of the suction, particularly because I was redecorating and I had lots of plaster dust around. I have vacuumed rubbles with my Dyson and besides having to wash the filter (it's an old model, newer are more efficient) it simply works great. These 'reviews' should be more comprehensive, clearly a bagless won't hold as much dust than a bagged vacuum but that's only one point to be analysed - where are all the others.
    Also, that bagless vacuum is crap! If your pre-filter is stuffed with fluff after 2 minutes of use then the 'cyclone' simply does not work. On a Dyson you won't have a spec of dust on the pre-filter after a similar task.

    • @vacuumtests9225
      @vacuumtests9225  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well one year worth of bags cost around 20€ (5 bags 10€). Not bad at all. Modern high filtration fleece bags don't clog until they are almost full. It takes more than one month until one bag is full. Then there are some other things: All Dyson vacuums are overly noisy (over 80 db) and cyclonic parts get covered with the fine dust. I mean parts what you can't clean. Cyclones can also clog and then you are in big trouble. Emptying the bin is very messy also.
      Don't get me wrong. I really like Dyson vacs = styling and best cyclone separation compared to other bagless vacuums. But I wouldn't use them as daily vacuuming.
      You should watch my uptaded video: Bagless VS Bagged Vacuum Cleaner (Which one to choose).

      The vacuum I was mentioning came with a fleece bag and it clogged as usual. Not so badly as a paper bag but still does. On that occasion I bought some cheap paper bags while I was redecorating so I didn't have to waste so much money. My Dyson is noisy, agreed. The Cyclone has never clogged. I've dismantled it twice over 10 years and never found anything clogged inside - nor any fine dust which couldn't be cleaned with some hot water, which was harmless anyway. Emptying the bin is not the best thing but with a little attention it's not so bad. I'm not saying that a good Miele is worse than a Dyson, just saying that Dyson's are not as bad as someone would like to picture them.
      * I've recently moved house. The new one was in great shape but I emptied 8 canisters of fluff and dirt by vacuuming the carpets. That would have been several bags on a bagged vacuum cleaner.
      Without mentioning those cheap vacuum with hepa filters with no gaskets around them and the dust simply goes around the filter's frame!
      I'll go check the other video now :) (BTW, are you from Iceland?)

    • @vacuumtests9225
      @vacuumtests9225  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fleece bags have differences. Some filtrate better than others. Finnish consumer reports tested different vacuums and they reported that for example Electrolux S-Bags didn't lose suction in the test where they vacuumed with the full bag. = plus.google.com/u/0/114579358444767690791/posts/cmZYD8sYwmc?pid=6298020401123628930&oid=114579358444767690791 If you vacuum just a fine dust then suction will drop, but in normal use that's not realistic.
      What it comes to dust capasity, bags work differently. They compact the dust so one bag will easilly last one month in the case where you have to empty bagless canister twice a week. Capacity = th-cam.com/video/dSS-sZlEJdM/w-d-xo.htmlm28s
      What it comes to Dyson cyclones to clog, youtube has a lot of videos about that = th-cam.com/video/qd2GWNgiAwM/w-d-xo.htmlm48s Nice to hear that yours has worked fine! and I actually enjoy using the bagless vacuum. I am vacuum enthusiast so for me taking good care of the vacuum is fun.
      My Electrolux UltraFlex bagless is just a single cyclone vac. Altought the cyclone is so called "high speed one". In normal use the pre motor filter needs to be washed about once in month. I do it more often and wash the bin weekly. Altought only thing that goes to the filter is the very fine dust.
      And finally I would love to own DC 41 MKII.
      Happy vacuuming! And I am from Finland.

    • @tony359
      @tony359 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! (I work in Iceland every now and then and you have very similar accent when you speak English!)
      Yes, very find dust is not what you usually pick up from the floor but it shows you the potential. In the end that is what is clogging the bags. I also know that there are lots of Dyson around with clogged cyclons, in fact I had to modify mine as the bypass valve would not re-engage once triggered: that would slow down the airflow in the cyclone and cyclones only work when air is FAST. A normal consumer would not realise that and would just keep vacuuming - clogging the pre-motor filter and so on.
      I appreciate the practicality of bagged vacuums, but most of the tests online are honestly not very well conducted. I saw a video where a guy was measuring the particles out of a Dyson: he put the particle counter by a hose, but that was BEFORE the motor, so best it could happen it would SUCK air in - not blow out. Anyway, I guess we've been discussed about Vacuum cleaners enough for today! :)

    • @tony359
      @tony359 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BTW: I cannot really explain how come that clogged Dyson vacuum you linked has clogged like that. The cyclons exaust in a separate chamber where I usually find the finest dust - the coarser is filtered in the canister and coarsely filtered by a plastic filter. Now, I have NEVER-EVER found anything but fine dust in that chamber. If the technology was flawed, I would find some hair or debris or anything that in the long term would clog the cyclons. Never-ever.
      I suspect those vacuums are never ever emptied and in the end when they are screaming loud something finds its way through the cyclons...

    This is not a fair test. First of all bagless vacuums have a smaller bin then bagged vacuums. When a bagged vacuum is turned on, the bag expands and can fit more dirt unlike bagless which then in stays the same size as it is turned off. Use a vacuum with a bigger bin and use this volta and I am sure both vacuums will be able to pick it all up.

      +Qasim Mir I do like the most of the Dyson models. And I want to get some Dyson in the future. Let's take DC39 for example:
      + very good multi cyclone separation
      + design looks nice (futuristic)
      + no loss of suction
      + good tools
      - mediocre suction
      - loud whiny noise
      And something about the older Dyson uprights (before DC41 mkII). Otherwise very nice, but weak brush action & loud).

    Could you vacuum up pebbles, coins, bolts, plastic stuff and cereal with the Volta\Electrolux?

      Kwabena Osei Yes I can and I will do video picking up those items.

    What do you mean that the FABRIC bag doesn't clog like PAPER ones do? The simple physics of vacuuming says that as soon as dirt enters the bag, regardless of what it's made of, air flow DIMINISHES.

    • @vacuumtests9225
      @vacuumtests9225  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes airflow and suction will lower, but so little that it doesn't matter. Clear truth is that fabric bags will keep the suction strong longer. Paper bag pores are much more coarse and it also leak dust to the dust compartment. That's why paper bags are slowly disappearing from the market. You need to watch one of my video. There you can see that even with the VERY full bag suction/airflow is very strong =
      th-cam.com/video/HCLXgo88krA/w-d-xo.html
      Turbo nozzle runs with suction so how fast it spins tells the change in suction.

    • @jakobw135
      @jakobw135 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PHYSICS fact is that dirt impedes suction. There is no way around that; especially in a bag. The more dirt blocking the pores, the LESS air goes through, and hence, LESS suction. See for yourself using your SUCTION METER.

      @@MarthaMansbridge What about the Dyson FULL SIZE upright and canister models? My Dyson upright sucks VERY WELL and doesn't need filter cleaning often.

      @@vacuumtests9225 I checked it out. At one point, when the dirt was cleaned up, there was a HICCUP, where the same image started anew, like he stopped the recording, did something, (like EMPTY the bag), and then continued ... Hmm ... I wonder if he did (just to prove my point)! Sure is SUSPICIOUS.

    Well this didn’t really tell me anything because it wasn’t an even comparison. When you were vacuuming with the bagless one you kept pausing and pulling the nozzle away from the dust pile and only vacuuming around the perimeter of the pile, whereas when u were using the bagged one you were vacuuming normally and without holding back, hence it appeared to be doing a much better job than the first one.
    Not sure why u were so clearly putting ur thumb on the scale, nor why no one else in the comments seemed to notice, but it def defeats the purpose of doing a comparison video.

      +iwonabr Just to show the difference between bagged and bagless vacuum.
      Bagless is more messy to empty and has much smaller capacity. I accidentally overfilled the bin and it caused filter to get dirty. In normal use filter needs washing about twice a month.
      Bagged has large bag and it compacts the dust = Very big capacity. Filter maintenance is minimal, but you have to buy bags.

      +Vacuumtests I completely agree with you.
      I had to switch back with bags because emptying the bagless released LOTS if dust back in to the air.

    The Problem with bagless machines is, that nearly all of them can't handle a large amount of dirt in one pass, cause the separation process doesn't work properly anymore, so a lot of dirt directly collects at the filter and because of this, the suction power drops very quick.
