  • A fascinating 1979 radio programme in which Michael Jackson and George Harrison reviewed the latest record releases,
The edition of Radio One’s Roundtable, hosted by David ‘Kid' Jensen, was recorded in the same month that the Jacksons appeared at Poole Arts Centre, in a gig that would go down in local pop history. - The pair shared their thoughts on records including You Angel You by Manfred Man’s Earth Band, Soul Man by the Blues Brothers, Lady Madonna by Lenny White.

When he said reggae is hard to play, I laughed. I have always told people that the Beatles could neither play nor sing, it was their writing that was good. I think I prefer every cover version of a Beatles song more than the original... I wanna hold your hand by Al Green is a fave and it literally was sung in a jam session.
As a Caribbean person, music has always been easy to most black people, it's literally black western music which has been popular music since ragtime...

You've been telling people wrong then - The Beatles could clearly play multiple instruments competently, though they weren't necessarily virtuosos - but then nor are most reggae musicians, because they don't have to be.
It's obvious that a white man from Liverpool born in the 1940s is not going to be naturally attuned to the rhythms and beats of reggae; just as a Caribbean native isn't going to be attuned to heavy metal, psychedelic rock, indie rock or English folk.
I don't know if there are any bands or artists from the Caribbean that play those kinds of music, but I doubt they're very good if they do.

You must have eaten quite a lot prior to making this comment.
