Two things I don’t like about my Camso tracks is 50% more fuel consumption and a whopping 70% speed reduction because they don’t recommend going over 40km/hr

    Hey guy's,
We live in europe and have a 6x6 expedition truck and travel now in Siberia, Mongolia and Kazachstan area. We pull also a big insulated trailer to storage our summer/winter fun toys like for example a Suzuki samurai 4x4 and this winter we bought a new Polaris sportsman XP 1000.
Now i was thinking because we have limited space in the trailer. Is it possible to use the 4S1 tracks also on the Sportsman 1000? Because two sets is way too big in space and if we have one set we can choose and change if needed for what vehicle we want.
I lived in snowless Belgium and have no experience with tracks and atv/utv but i know in America or Canada you have way more experience and knowledge like we have!
So please, can someone help me with this question? Or give some advice for my situation!?
    Thanks!!
    Yvan

Hard to beat this track system. I have installed on 2014 Honda 700 four side by side and on a 1992 Suzukie side kick 5 speed man trans. The tracks are pretty much maxed out on the side kick as it is at the top end of the weight class for these tracks. has worked auwsome on both units. do your preventive maintenance on them and they will perform trouble free for years

I lost another bogie wheel last week sadly. I do need to keep on top of the maintenance. Good to hear your experience with them!

Watching this makes me want to buy the Weller steering rack for my rmax I’d hate to break the rack on a snow ride. How has the ring that you welded on held up? Was there any issues keeping the heat from the seals when you welded it? I have all the tools to do this to my stock rack just worried about damaging the seals and and possibly messing with strength of the shaft not sure if it’s heat treated.

Had all but the part we were welding in snow to stop the heat saturation. The welded ring was set too far in on the shaft. It would interfere with as it cycled into the housing. Loosing some turning radius. I bought another oem rack and pinion cuz of the price difference vs the price of the weller racing unit. I had 2 more rings machines with tighter tolerances. I set them out on the end of the shaft. I used permanent lock tite. No welding, So far so good. I would machine the rings a little with a little outer taper on the outer edge

I have used a 2015 Grizzly 700 with the Camso tracks since I bought the setup in 2015. In fresh powder, do not try to go through it with a passenger onboard. You will sink and stop, especially going down steep slopes. Too much weight. Break trail and pack the snow and then you can carry a passenger AND a sled filled with supplies. It is a complete difference from powder. Yes, wider "snow tracks" would be nice in powder.

      Yep, you know the drill!

Something else I should mention. Up until this past year, I re-greased the insides of the bogie wheels with red grease. Every year, I would find wheels that had the grease turning tan colored with rust from running in the snow. This year, I switched to Redline gear lube after cleaning out all the grease. Squirt it in and close the caps on the wheels. Gear oil works much better than grease and is what Camso now recommends.

How do you think a yxz would handle snow tracks ?

I’m not totally sure, It would be interesting to see a manual shift tranny on tracks. I think the reduction these tracks do would be perfect for your tranny as far as speed.

I had camsos on my 2017 yxz 1000r ss and I loved them! Thing was unstoppable and I never had a single issue. I highly recommend going for it!
