    Thanks for the great video.
It reminded me of the trip to Silver City last year.
It was the week before Memorial Day, so the road was not yet officially open and some snow had still to be removed in the following days, before the season opening.
Fortunately, my rent car was a Toyota 4Runner so I could manage to skip the road block by following one secondary trail departing from the very same parking where you started your trip and eventually I could join the road a little bit higher in the valley.
Three miles before reaching Silver City, the road was impassable for the snow.
So I left the car and proceeded for a one-hour hike.
There I met Dave, the watchman, who guided me in an amazing visit through the empty town.
    He really made my day.
Hope to come back one day.
    Greetings from Italy

First off, Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it. WOW that sounds like a hell of a trip.. How did you get the 4Runner out? Some of those back trails are seriously brutal and tough to get through. Next trip there will be a totally different route lol. I'm glad you made it out safe.

@@ouroff-roadeo1065 Nothing brutal in my case, to be honest.
The hardest part was in the first mile or so, as I wanted to bypass the road block that was set on the main road just past the parking.
So I took a pretty bad but short trail from the parking to try joining the gravel road past the block.
It was more suitable for ATVs than for larger vehicles and my main worry was not to damage the rent car.
Using low gear and my previous experience in 4WD made the rest.
Once I was on the gravel road, it was nothing special except some snowy spots here and there until I had to stop before one hairpin bend that was covered with 5-6 ft of snow.
Being not so far from my destination, I eventually decided to proceed by foot.
Later I knew that meeting a mountain lion there was not unlikely. 😅
It's been a nice adventure, though.
I look forward to seeing some new video of that area.
      Greetings

The trail doesn’t have a name. I chose it off of ONX. I’ll see if I can find it and share it with you.
