  • Another visit to an old favourite iconic beach at Port Willunga, this time in the winter of 2024 although thank goodness on a nice sunny day.
The Old Jetty Pylons destroyed in 1915 and known locally as 'The Sticks'.
The internationally acclaimed 'Star of Greece Restaurant' and this superb Port Willunga beach are a major attraction for visitors and locals alike.
The 7 dugouts in the cliffs are also from many years ago when the Fishermen at the time used to store their boats from the very stormy weather which can frequent this coast from time to time.
During Summer months this place is really a buzz, beach goers now use the dugouts to shelter from or have even lunch in away from the hot sun.
Photographers and artists zero in on the Pylons which at one time were the most photographed or painted beach attraction in Adelaide to capture, they dominate in many paintings or on commercial TV ADS in Adelaide. They still to this day draw tourists and celebrities from all over who also may choose to lunch at the Star Of Greece depicted by the number of cars in the carpark on the day.
(The colour of the Sandstone Ochre Cliffs that dominate this part of our coastline are magnificent to look at and especially film)
