"For all Agarthans, let there be light!"

    Okay. *Spoiler thought dump inbound*
We may never know what their obsession with Light, beasts or vermin *exactly* refer to or mean, but this scene is still cool.
If only we could grant Hanneman's wish of knowing more about them... I've said on your Shambhala video, but... there are quite a few heaven and hell allegories in this game.
For starters, the tracks. For the sake of the argument I will make some stretches alongside them, but...
Swift as the Wind (soft, you could argue represents the Heavens)
As Fierce as Fire (you could argue refers to the Flame Emperor's ambition, as well as the flames of war, but also the fires of hell)
Tearing Through Heaven (Perhaps coincidentally, this plays during only 3 chapters, and all three feature Those who Slither by the end. The reveal of Solon in Ch. 8, Kronya stabbing you know who at the end of Ch.9 and the death of both Kronya and Solon in chapter 10. Very peculiar it would play during the chapters where they stir up shit in Part 1, up against a group who LIVES underground no less.)
Between Heaven and Earth (heavens and the "below" or hell)
    Next, phrases or names.
Thales said "let there be light for all Agarthans". Obviously mostly a "biblical" quote, but very interesting the "shady group" have been striving for light.
Solon. His name begins with "Sol" or Sun. (Light?) He claims to be the savior of all, refers to your class as beasts (possibly trying to throw shade at being feral crestures who "attack anything they don't agree with), and he calls Byleth, or Sothis, "Fell Star". You could argue this means that the "goddess fell from her paradise above", and yeah probably. But one last interesting thing is that there are such things called "Fallen angels", or demons.
If you got through all that without scrolling to the bottom, I thank you. I'm just some guy who sees interesting things about games and tries to piece together exactly what they were going for.

The upcoming story DLC may feature the Agarthans more in some way. If the rumors and leaks are correct, we'll be getting an "Abyss mode" or "Abyss path". Maybe a fifth route where we align with the Agarthans. It would be really cool, considering they're the only faction you can't support (not counting the fragile alliance with them in Crimson Flower).
As for them calling the player and other humans primitive beasts, it's implied that the Agarthans once lived alongside the Nabateans and were technologically advanced. Then they attempted to slaughter all the Nabateans, but failed miserably and were forced to live underground. Hence why they seek the light again, since they want to live above ground once more.

@@babyjiren9676 Why would you WANT to side with them?! They are ruthless psychopaths to who ethics and morals are alien ideas.
      Also, that's stated, not implied.

Interestingly, while there's definitely some Biblical references, I've found the Agarthans actually might be a fantasy culture counterpart to the Ancient Greeks.
-Their members are named after the Seven Sages of Ancient Greece
-They possess significantly advanced technology, more advanced than Fodlan's major factions. Greece was considered the height of civilization during the ancient world, constructing immense marvels as well as mastering mathematics and engineering putting them ahead of their neighbors leading to...
-A mountain-sized ego resulting in them looking down on others. The Ancient Greeks tended to call everyone who wasn't them barbarians. Easy to draw comparisons to the Agarthans treating Fodlan's populace with disdain at best and outright racial hatred at worst.
-Their Titanus mechs are comparable to the automatons that show up in forging myths, particularly those pertaining to Hephaestus who was the god of forge and could make anything.
-Their conflict with Sothis and her children parallel old Greek myths of mankind versus the gods, particular with the central theme of hubris leading to one's demise. Too many stories end with mankind suffering after trying to spite the gods (or them actually succeeding...) similar to how the Agarthans thought they could defeat Sothis and paid for that arrogance, dearly. Those rare times the mortals outwitted the gods could be seen in the Crimson Flower route where the Agarthans basically get all they wanted, or how they've reduced the Goddess' Children down to no less than five at best.
In a meta-sense, all of Fodlan's major powers are based off of real-world nations/countries, and the Agarthans are based on the one that's the oldest and perhaps most revered of them all, yet in-game, they're easily the most despised group.

It's possible that Sothis suffered the same situation as Duma. Maybe she lived with a dragon civilization before she came to Fodlan, similar to how Duma (and Mila) did before coming to Valentia. I can't imagine Sothis doing anything that would get her banished, but you never know.
We don't know if Fodlan is in the same world as any of the other settings for Fire Emblem, but in Genealogy of the Holy War, the "Fire Emblem" was a symbol of hope passed down through the Velthomer bloodline, which I suppose could be similar to the Crest of Flames, which is also known as the "Fire Emblem."
Jugdral (that game's continent) and Archanea (also Valentia and Ylisse) are in the same world, and the Fire Emblem in Marth's and Chrom's games is the Binding Shield, meaning that world would already have two "Fire Emblem" items. If there can be more than one, then... why not, I guess.
But that's all speculation. There's no real hard evidence.
