Arkansas fans won't agree, but the best Arkansas-Kentucky game was the 1995 SEC Championship. I was 9 and I still remember how awesome and intense that was.

The 1995 SEC Tourny Final goes down as the best Conference Tourney game ever IMHO and the best game of this rivalry. UK came from 19 down in regulation to force OT then they were down 9 in OT and came back to win. Both teams were favorites to win it all that year. Arkansas was defending national champs and UK's core was the nucleus of the 1996 national championship team. They were just a year away from being the best team in modern CBB history. I also remember being a young UK fan rooting for Arkansas in 1994. Although, I was more rooting against Puke than I was rooting for Arkansas.
As a Kentucky fan, I respect the Arkansas program because of guys like Nolan Richardson and Corliss Williamson. And it’s always good when players come back to the program and help after their playing days, like Ronnie Brewer, and you all even have a Wildcat fave in the family, with Tyler Ulis on staff. I really only hate Florida. But, god do I hate them. Enough to make up for being neutral toward the rest of the conference.
I hope Kentucky fans show Calipari some appreciation for what he did for our program. We have moved on. He has moved on. There’s no need to hate the man. I just hope we show some class.

We don't hate Arkansas. Been watching since the 90s. Respected Arkansas back then. Didn't hate them. We've never really even thought twice about Arkansas. Some years, they beat us, but o well, that's every team. The only time our feelings towards Arkansas changed was this off season when cal went to your guys program, you guys were over the moon excited, the kentucky fans tried to give you a heads up that he's not the same guy, just don't expect 2010 to 2016 cal, then your fanbase started bashing us, telling us we were coping and we were just mad because we were stupid and ran off the hall of fame coach. That's when the issues came. We never cared at all about Arkansas. The only reason we seem like we do now is because you have our coach of 15 years and we wanted to give you a heads up so you weren't shocked when you started the season dead last in the sec. Ky fans were worried about this team before he left. We knew it didn't have the right pieces and cal would have to work his old magic. We wanted to warn you. That's it man. John, if ky fans were mean to you, then I'm sorry, but some of your fans are the reason why. They acted crazy towards us when we tried to tell you guys.

But let me also say this, like EVERY strong fan base we have a small percentage of petty people (it might seem like a big percentage but UK has a HUGE fan base). For the past week UK fans have been talking about whether to boo Cal or applaud and most have said they will not boo but there are the petty few that will try to make their boo's heard

I am older and remember when Arkansas came in and Richardson was a badass coach, we had a healthy fear of that man. As a lifelong Kentucky fan, I really hope the fans at Rupp aren't nasty to Cal or Arkansas. Enjoy the game and appreciate our old coach for all he's done.

As a KY fan, I don't hate Arkansas. I think the league is better when both teams are good and the rivalry is hot. Arkansas has a passionate fanbase that I respect. And, I thank you tremendously for taking Cal off our hands. Don't get me wrong, I love Cal and appreciate all that he did here; it was just time for something new for both parties (KY and Cal). I hope to see his name in our rafters one day, but am very happy with our current situation now and going forward.
As for us being brothers, yes we are. But KY is the older, better looking, highly successful brother than you look up to and are always striving to be. haha
Back in the day when Larry Johnson was at UNLV, they were courting an undefeated season, and they appeared unstoppable.. Arkansas was touted as the only team that could beat them, because they had Olly Miller who could match up against LJ. Even though they lost both of the games the games themselves were absolute classics.
I'm a Cats fan, but I love the Razorbacks. I was excited (and nervous) when they came into the SEC. Their first year they had Oliver Miller, Todd Day, Lee Mayberry, and Isaiah Morris, all NBA bound. Their presence in the SEC elevated the entire conference. I had hopes that Cal could turn things at Arkansas. Maybe this season is a wake up call for him. I hope so.

Why do you hate Kentucky? Hmmmm....Arkansas is 14-36 against the Wildcats. Since joining the SEC in the 1991-92 season through today, Arkansas has two regular season SEC titles. During the same span, Kentucky has 14. During that span, Arkansas has 1 SEC Tournament Championship, while Kentucky has 16 of them. Arkansas has 10 NCAA Elite 8 appearances, while Kentucky has 38. As for Final 4's, the Hogs have a very respectable 6 banners, but Kentucky has 17 of them. Arkansas has an NCAA Championship, but Kentucky has 8 of them. Arkansas is top 30 in all-time wins, Kentucky is #1.

Arkansas basketball has a rich history. I am a KY fan, grad - and bleed blue. Respect to the Hogs. Always tough to beat. Nolan was great. I was at Ky when e had Eddie. Great coach. Fun times. The states are similar, the fans are similar. Love the rivalry. Don't mind losing to the Hogs. Hate eff'n hatred losing to Tennessee. We benefited from great Arkansas players. Loved Malik!

I understand how you feel. As a Kentucky fan I’m of course not a Louisville fan, and when Rick Patino went to coach for Louisville that made me hate them even more. I want Kentucky to win on Saturday for Pope, and you want Arkansas to win it for Cal. That makes us both good and loyal fans to our team and our coach. I do hope it is a good game.
Believe it or not, we feel your pain right now. That is probably the reason we are even more "expressive" right now after Cal. It is kind of like a weight lifted and we get to be part of our basketball team again. You guys are getting a taste, Cal is not a bad person, he is what he is.

As a Kentucky fan I appreciate that perspective. Born in the 80s and really gaining fandom in the 90s during the Pitino era, I hated a lot of teams during that time. I remember those great matchups during the Richardson years and his 40 minutes of hell. Arkansas has found a way at times to be a nuisance during certain seasons and I honestly would like to see Arkansas be good at the same time we are again. I know you say you hate Kentucky but my dislike for Arkansas is bottom tier to the hate that I have for Tennessee. I don't hate Cal either. I wanted him to get some fire back in him and walk into Rupp one day and let's see what happens. When he's good, it's good for college basketball whether you like him or not. It's a story grabbing piece when he's good. I was one of the few left that wondered who we'd get and ended up surprised. We'll see how things go in Rupp on Saturday.

Rupp Arena will be sold out Saturday and I hope the Ky fans will give Cal a standing ovation. He gave us 15 years and national championship. He left before he got fired and done the best thing for hisself and for the university. Everything worked out for the best and given some time he will have success at Arkansas. Agree, I don’t know many people that wouldn’t trade their teams 10 year stretch for Cals at Kentucky. In hindsight we should’ve had one or two more trophies but we were on top of the world and it was exciting.

Arkansas was good for a few years almost 20 years ago. They have not been relevant for many years.

John, you’re a good guy. The last few years with Cal were pretty ugly and Cal really started fighting back against the fans calling them basketball Benny’s and making snide comments. This really aggravated many of the fans, including me, which I thought a guy making that kind of money should handle things in a more professional way. when I first started watching your show, I have to admit that I was happy to see Cal losing. However, when I listen to you, I sort of feel bad for the Arkansas fans. Your fan base is a lot like ours. We have been through tough times before, so I can empathize. Well I don’t feel like cow is the same cow that he was for the first 10 years or so for the cats, he is not our problem anymore. Good luck to you all and I hope your team ends up better again.
I have been to s lot of Kentucky games and there were years of complete dominance. For a long while, Kentucky and a couple more different teams from year to year that kept the SEC relevant to some analysts and always played well un tournament. I think the teams that played Kentucky in the regular season, it helped teams in the NCAA Tournament to play well.
The problem arose when CAL seemed to quit thinking and disrespected the fan base. A huge mistake. If you win the BBN will leave you alone but when you lose like Cal did then the pressure came heavy and often front the BBN Nation.
One think about Cal was he was a great guy that walked away a 30+ million dollar buy out was my interpretation. Who does that.
Cal took responsibility. I still believe Cal will take you to a final 4 and maybe a couple. But the problem is now players are now being paid, so Cal loses his advantage. I don't know how that turns out, but he will still win.
The last thing is the Cal players will give their best shot at Rupp on Saturday against Kentucky. I am a little nervous. But Pope is a great coach as I see it, but Cal has better players.
Give Cal a chance. He went through a ton of it's and that's. My prediction is in his 3 to 4 the year he will be at a final 4. I know basketball 🏀 will serve your State well.
I have been in Arkansas and I have always wanted to give it a shot but my wife didn't want to go. I lived the people and the nature that grabs you and won't let go. It was a spiritual experience for me.

I lived in Arkansas in the year of 1995. That was the year they won the championship. Working for a local surveying private owned Company who was a big Razorback fan. Me and another employee were paid the whole day hunting down all magazines that had the right up for that game. They're very first if I remember and I was from Ky and understood they feelings. I spoke a little stiff in a response to your comments on Ky vs Tenn. You said Tenn. was better than Ky. They are good, ranked higher and all of that and they might be better but not last night. That being said Arkansas could just as easily win on Saturday. But Ky has lost a game or two that should have been a given. All that being said like you I want my team to win. All that being said I appreciate all that Cal. done for Ky. I hope he can get it right in Ark. I would like to see a close game. So good luck to whoever wins.

NiL has changed college ball to where it's not college ball anymore. It's the NBA junior league where you don't go get a kid to come to your school because he grew up dreaming of wearing that jersey. I remember you guys joining the conference at 9 years old. You would beat us in the regular season and we'd pay you back in the SEC TOURNAMENT. I was at the pyramid in Memphis when we beat your national championship team in 1994 in the semifinals. I harbour no ill will towards CAL or Arkansas.

I promise not all UK fans are obnoxious. Unfortunately the obnoxious ones tend to be the most vocal. The reason we have been so vocal about cals failure is because the breakup was so toxic. It was evident for the last couple years that the fans were bitter with cal and he was bitter with us. I personally appreciate what cal did. I remember the billy g days. But it was time to part ways. Then, the Arkansas fans were chirping about Kentucky being the problem all along. That’s when things got heated. I respect cal and Arkansas. I hope the rivalry heats up even more.
