I can't believe my eyes... it looks so easy on your video, I have bt sport 700 as yours, I puling whole tail case to set this up (with my feet on the skids as you said =) ) and I have to put so much force to make tail tensioner aligned... after it become aligned belt feels too tight... have to try your way for belt tensioning.
Just done mine,no slack on spool up now,genius ,cheers man.

I can tell you that an up down wag is most likely mechanically related. I would inspect your whole tail.
