The water filter for the GE Fridge alone costs $47.50 and produces 300 gallons of water (amzn.to/2LyqVCC). This means you pay roughly $0.16 per gallon of filtered water just in filter depletion. That Mr. Coffee maker (amzn.to/2xrwKt6) holds 12, 5oz cups of coffee, totaling 60oz for the carafe. Having 128 oz in a gallon, that would cost roughly $0.09 just in filter expenses, adding roughly 0.75 cents to each 5 oz cup. Also note, Graham mentioned the coffee maker makes 12 cups of coffee. Not ture. A standard "cup" is 8oz, and the coffee maker defines a "cup" as 5oz. Therefore there is really only 7.5 cups of coffee, BUT, it gets worse. The glasses that Graham posted (amzn.to/2xs89EE) hold 12.25 oz (the shorter cups, let's not even talk about the long tall ones in the beginning). Let's say he uses 0.166oz of cream (teaspoon: amzn.to/304e4fl), the ice displaces 0.5 oz and we leave 2 oz of room to the rim, that's still 9.59oz of coffee. With the $8.70 package of grounds making 5.5 pots of coffee, this would mean that it would each pot costs $1.58 and each pot would really make 6.26 cups of coffee, which means that each cup costs a hair over 25¢. The only thing that can make this coffee better is coffee cubes! Instead of putting the whole pot in the fridge, pour some coffee into an empty ice tray and you get frozen coffee cubes so it doesn't water down your coffee!
In that case 20 cents a day per year is just $73 and in 55 years is $4,015 invested in the average 7% = $165,879 but thats if you put all the money today

I love your 20 cents coffee mindset! I had to take a spin on it myself to take the time to change and develop my mindset from step one, figure out how much I spend on coffee and how much I save when I make it myself. In the end, I am living off of a 50 cents vanilla latte and saving myself from the 3-5 dollars difference.
Not quite sure how creamer would only cost $0.25 for a whole bag (66 cups) of coffee but I'm totally on board with the concept. Thanks Graham, I look forward to years of saving $$ by drinking iced coffee!
Graham, making hot coffee then icing it makes it too acidic, you should buy a cold brew kit, grind the beans and leave the coldbrew overnight in your fridge. Comes out great!
To be fair, buying low-grade coffee makes it too acidic. If you want actual quality, it's about 15 dollars a bag. Still a helluva lot cheaper than getting it from a coffee shop. To each his/her own, though. I like my coffee high quality and black. No added stuff, just water and bean dust.
Things I learned while watching this video: - there's coconut creamer. Things I wondered about: - did that coffee cool off enough not to damage your fridge? - why not freeze coffee instead of letting it age 24 hours? - even when Stephan isn't talking about money, he still is.
Pot could also break if you put it in the freezer with the drastic temperature change or mistakingly freezeing it, and i know alot of people would want coffee faster just an FYI
This is 100% true! I worked at a whirlpool customer center a few years ago, I'd always get angry customers on the phone; because their "refrigerator wasn't as cold!!!!". 9/10 times it was because they put a hot pot/bowl in the refrigerator looooool.
Pour dry grounds into French press, fill with water, put in fridge over night. Press. Enjoy. Save the rest in the fridge for two more days for coffee. Heavy cream- tiny bit goes a long way.
Hundreds and hundreds of Graham videos and finally one that I don't need. Never had coffee and never will (against my religion) but figure out 20 cent Mtn dew and I'm in!
If youre fortunate as i am, my girlfriend’s parents are Sams club members and i got one of their cards. Was able to get a bigger bag of peats, 1,000 filters and cheaper creamer. Got it down to 9 cents a cup

Lebryant Johnson you don’t know! I work at Starbucks and these girls spend like $5 a day and especially since tik tok came out their drinks are now like $8+.

I wish my parents were half as enthusiastic about me as you are about 20c coffee

25 cent per cup, not a whole bottle
Liquid Gold huh? Freeze it into ice cubes so it doesn’t water down the water. Solid Gold.

Graham, making hot coffee then icing it makes it too acidic, you should buy a cold brew kit, grind the beans and leave the coldbrew overnight in your fridge. Comes out great!
Arnold Batista true story. Cold brew kit = jar, strainer & grinder. Or just coarse grind at the super market ;-).
@@manictiger "just water and bean dust" i love that im using that in the future lol
You don't need a kit to make cold brew, just use any big drink vessel, then strain.
You can use a French press in the fridge and make cold brew that way, no need for a fancy kit
Things I learned while watching this video:
- there's coconut creamer.
Things I wondered about:
- did that coffee cool off enough not to damage your fridge?
- why not freeze coffee instead of letting it age 24 hours?
- even when Stephan isn't talking about money, he still is.
on that 2nd Q, some foods taste weird and off when u do it as u asked. so idk. this was not even relevant but had to asnwer.

The best solution for cold coffee is to cold brew with a French Press (just google it). It ends up tasting better and costing less.

Don't put a hot pot into the fridge. The fridge will end up working harder to maintain the correct temperature. Wait till pot is room temperature
How much diffirence is that really gonna make?😅
Pour dry grounds into French press, fill with water, put in fridge over night. Press. Enjoy. Save the rest in the fridge for two more days for coffee. Heavy cream- tiny bit goes a long way.

This is an absolute travesty. This video is why we can't trust TH-camrs no more. Folks, you've all been juked, this is #FakeNews. Please allow me to explain.
This is deceptive and manipulative to fit an agenda.
Let's not stop there. The Coffee Maker ( amzn.to/2xrwKt6) also uses 900 Watts, and takes roughly 11 minutes to brew and entire pot. Average cost of electricity in LA area ia 18.6¢/ KWh according to the BLS, this means it would cost an additional 10¢ per pot, or 1.6¢ per cup. If you want to measure the electricity of your own appliances, you can use a watt meter found here: amzn.to/2xApk7b
Without even taking into consideration things like the depreciation and life expectancy of the coffee maker, the electricity needed to cool the coffee, the gas required to purchase the creamer, lets recap what we have.
Coffee Cost (Actual): 25.2¢
Filtered Water Cost (Not County County Cost): 1.44¢
Electricity Cost: 1.6¢
Other Petty Costs: 2¢
_________________________________
Total Actual Cost: 30.24¢
I would like an explanation, an apology, and a retraction of the 20¢ coffee slogan as it's clearly closer to 30¢.
