    Graham, here are a few tips that will help you avoid getting demonetised:
    - Flip the video horizontally (mirror it)
    - Crop the video a bit, or zoom in
    - Add a colour correction overlay. Change the contrast, saturation, colour temperature, etc.
    - Change the pitch of the audio
    By making these changes to the video you are reacting to, you're working towards more of a remix, in addition to what you're already doing, which is pausing it and providing commentary/criticism.
    Hope this helps 👍

      It's a common recommendation to recycle graywater for non-contact use, number one being for toilet flushing, and second is to use the top portion after settlement via gravity for plants (assuming that there's not much more waste in the water than the plants can handle). A less common recommendation comes from the energy perspective; where the shower water is looped through a filter so you save the heating cost.

    (German: Regentonne) In Germany it’s totally normal to save the water from the rain. The water is collected from the gutter into a barrel and most people use it to water their plants. Most of the barrels have lids so the water can’t get dirty or evaporate. My neighbour was using it to flush her toilet, a watering can was always next to it.

Then you can take it to the garden and water the flowers....my grandparents did this when I was growing up and i never appreciated the conservation until now. This works best with showers that are not shower/bath combos, aka have a large flat floor surface.

    There are so many houses in Germany that use rainwater from the roof to water the plants. This can go into metric tons through a single season.
    Water from the shower could be reused to flush toilets. Around 1/3 of domestic water usage is showering, 1/3 is flushing the toilet, and 1/3 is the rest. Plumbing in new houses could support such systems that reuse the shower water and cut the costs to 2/3.

    • @ratgr
      @ratgr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are places where it is actually Obligatory to have a separate system for rain water. On the neighborhood I used to live in (my parent's home, GDL, Mexico), we had at least 3 plumbing systems on our homes: "Rain water", "Contaminated Water", and "Sewer", and some have an extra one that is mostly a kitchen compost system but that one wasn't obligatory.
      One for rain water which you can use for plants and the rest goes to the "absorption well",
      The "contaminated water" system that contained most of the bathrooms, this system contains soapy water and human oils so while it can be reused it can only be stored for a week, it is used on toilets and can be also used for plant watering. In my house every sunday a pump would throw away the "contaminated water" through a filter the filtered part to the rain water, and the oils and contaminants through the normal sewer.
      The normal sewer, The kitchen and at least one restroom must be connected to it, the restroom to provide where to clean your hands from any abnormal waste, like cement, thinners, alcohol, paint ...
      All this is done because there is an aquifer just bellow the neighborhood, and through a messy agreement we were allowed to make use of it but have to take care of it, as a consequence the neighborhood has very cheap water but strong regulations.

    Graham if the expense is the filter then just buy a permanent 'gold' filter that you just wash off and lasts forever which costs between $6-10. No need for a sock

    It's not legal to use rainwater here if it goes into the sewer. Sewer charges are determined by the water usage as measured by the meter, and they can't charge you if you use rain water.

    Graham you need to check out earthship home design! Starts with rainwater collection and stored into a cistern, water is used for household needs. Sinks and bathtub water go towards a "grey water" storage tank that is cleaned thru a charcoal filter and peat moss typically that you can use for indoor gardening for edible plants and/or use the grey water to be used for the toilet tank water. Used toilet water is considered "black water" and would go straight into a typical septic system, which than that water can be used to water inedible plants down stream. Great stuff! Also, check out the video on TH-cam with Bill Gates figuring out how to make cheap toilet for countries living well under the poverty line!

    Paper coffee filters are a waste of paper and money, but you can get a reusable coffee filter at Walmart for a few bucks.
    Some plants might not do well with soap in their water, but if the shower water went into a tank that could be used for flushing toilets, that would be cool.

    1. Buy a reusable straw. It's a thing. Also, you can buy a cheap pipe-cleaner to clean it with. 2. Soapy water could kill your plants; they don't need soap. 3. I save 100% on coffee by not drinking coffee.

    There are a lot of counties that don't allow you to collect rain water, be careful before doing this. You don't want to get fined by the local government because your neighbor doesn't like how your backyard looks with funnels and bottles everywhere.

    I use a Breville espresso maker and it does not use a coffee filter, it has a stainless steel one that you simply rinse after using. The coffee is better then a conventional coffee brewer and even using $9CAD Maxwell House coffee in a large tin makes a great crema. Its better then using a coffee filter or a sock and I don't go to Tim Hortons or Starbucks, its saving me a fortune!

  • @justinfigley4867
    @justinfigley4867 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I understand saving money, but most of that was going WAY to far. The only thing I can agree with is shopping at garage sales, maybe a clean sock for the coffee (even though I would never do it because there is reusable filters), and maybe the rain water but that was a stretch. Making stuff at home is ok but some things are better off purchased because it will last.
