It's just really disappointing because I bought a PS4 just to finally play bloodborne and it's nowhere near as good as what the constant glazing online would have you believe
Bloodborne was my first Fromsoft game, I played on PS4 years after it was released and is my most played game. 400 something hours - I farmed like crazy for hours and hours, collected all items including DLCs, explored all quest lines / endings and max upgraded most of my fav equips. I was really obsessed by the world and lore. 100/10 game.
As someone who’s first fromsoftware game back in day was the original demon souls it was a real treat to see how far these games came with each release! I wish i could forget what the games were about just to go through it all again! 😊
I think you also missed the hardest boss in the entire game, which isn’t even a boss but a mini boss at the end of Eileen‘s questline. This guy was the true nightmare lol
Duel weild Reiterpilash & Evelyn with some good scaling gems & shoot the bloody crow R2 L2 repeadedly, use blood vials to make more bullets repeat. follow through with visceral if they happen
One of my fav games, absolutely loving it, cant wait for remaster/remake/pc port or something (bb2? wake me up when it happens). Also want to mention a few cool challenging part for you 1)Fishing Hamlet location - go down the well where you meet big shark boy thing, at the bottom of the well lies Lady Maria's boss weapon - Rakuyo, and two big surprises for you. 2)As mentioned above, find and eat 3 umbilical cords in order to fight another boss at the end of the game. 3)It's also worth a stroll through the dungeons, at least for a couple of interesting bosses and challenges there. I remember the Cursed and Defiled Chalice. That was a good one. 4)Also, mentioned by people, Eileen's questline, at the end of the stage, has very challenging npc fight, deserves attention. BTW, my first souls like game, still fav one. DS3, second for me, gorgeous game also. Now i'm finishing sekiro and then go play Elden Ring, I hope I get the same emotions that I had with DS and BB. Have a nice day!

I love bloodborne so much, it's one of my favorite games of all time. I am still so sad that there was no next gen/60 fps/4k update. BB for sure deserves to be treated better 😢
Yeah but it would be even better if he stopped acting like he didnt know a bunch of things to try and sound smart. Not everyone is a good actor I guess
Started with Demon's Souls and Bloodborne is still my favorite souls game. No shields, fast dodging, weapons that change their move set depending on what form they are in, being able to switch their form in combos. Just amazing amount of customization with playstyle. Granted there are faults too, Blade of mercy's only good move is tricked dodge R2, Ludwig's is just too damn strong, some of the Chalice Dungeon's monsters are stupid (crazed guy with two scythes in a cursed dungeon im lookin right at you). I've spent far too much time helping people and playing it over the years and would be willing to do so again if they ever get around to porting/remaking it to PC.
ER is kinda objectively the peak, if anything in sheer terms of development and what they achieved. BB is amazing but also I feel like it's a bit overrated due to the forbidden fruit effect, as the game is stuck on the PS4 and hasn't had an accessible modern release in 9 years. I expect the community feelings of sheer adoration for it to shift to more realistic levels once it gets a proper modern release like a remaster or PC port.
@steel5897 no bloodborne is definitely their best game. You're arguing in favor of elden ring based on technical achievement. Aka how impressive it is that they made the souls formula work as an open world, and did a good job at it. However arguing in terms of artistic merit and just simply how the games feel, bloodborne easily wins this. It's a much more stylistically distinct and creative game. They basically made the best cosmic horror material out there when they created bloodborne. Music was easily the best in bloodborne. Fromsoft usually falls into a trap with their music where they have really loud overbearing orchestras that sound very messy and poorly composed, with occasional gems of songs that shine through. Even dark souls 3 suffered that trap. Bloodborne however has incredibly cleanly orchestrated music that is hardly ever overbearing. Each song sounds distinct too. It's the only game of theirs where they clearly considered the style and asthetic of the world of the game and allowed it to influence the OST. Elden rings music essentially plays 2nd fiddle to dark souls 3's music, and both are beat by bloodborne. As for combat, trick weapons are both far more impressive on a technical achievement level, and are stylistically way cooler and more interesting than ashes of war. I can turn a cane into a chain whip, enough said. And obviously the art direction, asthetic and area design is much better in bloodborne. The 1 area bloodborne falls short is its bosses. Only the dlc bosses are exceptional, and the majority of the base game bosses are lame. Very few humanoid bosses.
@@trevorveillette8415 I'm honestly still not sure if there is music at the end of bloodborne because of that soul curdling scream, over and over and over.
Bloodborne was the first souls game i played through fully without dropping (i dropped ds3 a while ago because i sucked, i plan on going back) and it's genuinely my favorite game if all time. The atmosphere, the story, the gameplay, everything about it is amazing to me.
Fun and entertaining Video, personally i raised my brow quite a lot, didn't feel like it was your first time on a lot of Bosses, but that could very well just be me! Glad you enjoyed the game. It's my favorite FromSoft game.
It was my first time playing but I had seen clips of a lot of stuff throughout various video essays and whatnot so it wasn’t a completely blind playthrough just due to how damn popular the game is, it’s a tough one to 100% avoid
Excellent video! Definitely did a lot better than i did my first playthrough. I did get to face the moon presence which is that final, final boss that consumed you. Playthrough 2 has been better since i have the Burial Blade which is absolutely my fave weapon (Thank You Gerhman). I hope you get to face the last boss next time
I've never played a FromSoftware game before, i saw a friend of mine playing DarkSouls 1 once and i got turned off by it (wasn't my type of game), forward AUG 2023 i saw Bloodborne GOTY edition on sale for $20 (disc verison) so i thought i'd give it a go since i was intrigued by the lore and setting so i bought it and started playing it, 1st 30 mintues in and 8 years later i was stuned., by the visual presentation, the designs of the city and atmosphere is like nothing i've seen before. my road to my first boss (Cleric Beast) wasn't easy it took me more than 2 hours and 25 stupid deaths to find him, i died at least 10 times fighting him which made me think (if this is the first boss of the game this is going to be a wild ride) and it was i'm currently 90 hours on my first playthrough i've beaten almost every boss including the nasty ones in the defiled Chailce (Cursed Watchdog was the toughest one i came across and almost broke me) now only The Blood Queen is what standing between me and the platinum, i'll probably keep going about it for hours but what i would say about Bloodborne is one of the greatest games i've ever played in my 35 years of living. no game gave me that feeling of joy after beating a tough boss and it definitely made me a better gamer! Truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
gosh I have such a similiar feeling with elden ring for me, I also saw people playing dark souls and even purchased dark souls 3 myself and when I tried it was like "ah, this just isn't for me i guess" elden ring came out and I fell in love and have been loving everything that fromsoftware has put out. Bloodborne is now one of my favourites after this playthrough!
One thing this game never tells you besides everything. You have this thing called insight. It's the eyeball on your hud. If you have no insight, you can't see invisible enemies. Once you get enough insight you see them. Like the Amygdalas around the map, you can see them when your insight is high enough. During the witches of hemwick fight, if you have no insight, you don't have to deal with the shades because your character can't see them, so they don't exist. Which makes the whole gimmick point less. And there are other cheeses too, like the blood starved beast. If you throw blood they go after it instead of you cause they are "blind" there are some other enemies that works on too, specifically ones that have blood something in the name. I think they are only chalice enemies as i don't remember them in the man story.
My heart jumped when you picked up the Hunter gear with the Top Hat, I heard the grab attack that just barely missed you! Good stuff, fun to watch :) Time stamp @15:16, sound of grab attack @15:18

I don't know what kind of build he was using in Elden Ring or his usual fromsoft games play style, but somehow he adopted very quickly the Bloodborne style of combat. Maybe just the , but having play Bloodborne, it really feel like it wasn't his first time. It could be the editing and the calm (post?) voice over, but it really feels (to me at least) that you already know most of the game and that you don't really discover/explore. In any case, nice fights.
ngl as someone who just got into bloodborne after playing all the other souls games i feel it’s the easiest of the games because it just feels like elden ring with an even better dodge and also it rewards greedy playing.

next playthrough remember to scale arcane if you wanna do elemental damage. You unintentionally did a challenge run and should absolutely be proud of that.
These games really do teach us to be patient with strikes. Even more aggressive ones like Sekiro you have to be happy with 3 or 4 hits and then get out.
Seeing someone new play bloodborne is so strange cause I’m like aw you missed this you need that I finally know how people feel when they know a game and others don’t
There's this one boss... if you do the crow woman's quest line... also, wear the crown from the castle boss with the magic and flying in his arena, and you will get new weapons and a new small area. Also, the hunter badges are what is giving you those weapons in the shop. If you ever plan on revisiting, there are a multitude of quest lines that not even I have completed
I am a veteran in the souls saga, I've played every game (except for the original Demon's Souls) recently I played Bloodborne with a new character and Hooly fuck did I fell in love again with this gem! After killing Orphan of Kos (he's tough AF) I played Elden Ring again with a new character and realized I wasn't using my shield anymore! I liked Bloodborne style so much that I'm playing Elden Ring in the same way, and it works amazingly! It's so much fun just learning "the dance", every boss has a certain pattern, once you learn how to read those patterns you can dodge and attack and it's just the best way to play IMO
Next playthrough, you need to follow Eileen's quest line. It's really the only side quest in the game, and her character is so freaking cool. "A hoonter must hoont."

I was decently involved with FromSoftware games when my friend introduced me to Dark Souls 1 via the Remastered game. I branched out and played other games in their catalogue. Bloodborne was a particularly fun experience. But that's not why it's so special to me. Bloodborne is the game I played couch co-op one summer with someone who would become my wonderful girlfriend to this very day. We both loved the game and started playing it in my basement with our ps4s. One night with a tip off from a friend who told me she was interested, I asked her out and my life changed forever standing in my driveway. So yeah, I got a special place for Bloodborne. We both do.
It was my last FS game since I never owned a console before playing it. People were telling me that it was the hardest but I found it easier than all others since the parry system is very generous with time and I guess I had a ton of experience in other FS games that helped with BB
Just started playing this myself, after completing recent From games Elden Ring, AC6, and Sekiro. It took me a little while to get used to the feel of combat in this one - to me, it’s a little more organic and squishy than its similar peers, but it clicked after about 2 hours or so and now I am loving this!
This is still the only Souls game (FromSoft created) that I completed. The gothic horror victorian setting is absolutely stunning and Ludwig's Holy Blade still remains one of my favourite weapons from any of their games.
The experience you had with the DLC bosses was similar to my own first playthrough. Really struggled with ludwig for an age then steamrolled him randomly. I still struggle with him, it's a very learnable fight, but even learning it i just tend to miss time my dodges (I blame the 30 FPS) Laurence gets a lot of traction online as being one of the hardest bosses of the DLC and like you I find him a piece of piss. Orphan for me was a second try and I haven't lost to him outside of multiplayer in over 15 playthroughs, so take what you will of that xD. Glad you enjoyed the game. Hope you get the urge to play through it again and go for a thorough go over of it to learn the ins and outs of the story, meet some more of the NPCs and do their quests and the chalices of course (probably the weaker part of the game really, but i enjoy them at least)
It’s crazy how it varies. Ludwig I can beat the piss out of and only lose as a cooperator but Laurence, who was easy in NG for me, progressively turned into a nightmare and easily one of the hardest bosses for me in NG+7.
I randomly Killed Ludwig on my second attempt, and struggle with him since for some Reason. Same with Laurence. I struggled the most with Maria ironicaly. Funny how it reversed
160 damage per hit on Mergo with LHB is crazy. Either no good gems or wonky stat allocation In any case, it will forever be the best Fromsoft game in my eyes. The world, weapons, gameplay and bosses are just like nothing else Also just in case no one else mentioned it so far, you missed your chance to fight the final boss, the tentacle creature that appeared at the end. For it, you must consume three one third umbillical cords, one of which you got from killing Mergo’s Wetnurse, another you probably picked up when entering Iosefka’s Clinic from the back door and the third (or fourth, don’t as why there are four one thirds) can be found through a side door halfway down the platforming tower puzzle from early in the video. The last one, you find in the sewer room just after Gascoigne’s arena, after having killed the Wetnurse
I noticed fire on hit so pretty sure he attached a fire gem with no points in arcane. Did something similar on my first playthrough. If anything it's more impressive he managed to beat while being debuffed.
so much nostalgia. I always think about dusting off my ps4 and starting again but the copium I have for a pc port keeps me away, for now. Thx for sharing, great first run.

It's just really disappointing because I bought a PS4 just to finally play bloodborne and it's nowhere near as good as what the constant glazing online would have you believe
@@jakekekw8290In your opinion. But in mine, I think it is.
But that's how I feel about DS1.
The bloody crow of cainhurst, how i hate that guy
That guy is hard af. He took out Eileen and then killed my character
The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst, my arch-nemesis
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos was the one that gave me the most issues in the entire game. I hated that fight.
One of my fav games, absolutely loving it, cant wait for remaster/remake/pc port or something (bb2? wake me up when it happens).
Also want to mention a few cool challenging part for you
1)Fishing Hamlet location - go down the well where you meet big shark boy thing, at the bottom of the well lies Lady Maria's boss weapon - Rakuyo, and two big surprises for you.
To this day I think the Cleric beast had the best battle music in any of the Fromsoft games
Yea it’s underrated af anyway
Really? He doesn’t even have the best music in his own game, yet alone all of the fromsoft games
Edit: in my opinion of course, not to try to diss yours, I just didn’t know there were people that felt that way about it
@@LocalHobo631
Might need to drop some examples to back you up
Cleric Beast definitely is up there in the catchiest of Bloodborne
@@knavenformed9436 yeah for sure, I have cleric beast as probably the 6th or 7th best track, can’t decide between it and amygdala’s theme…
But as for my top 5 they would contain the themes for
Lady Maria
Father Gascoine
Gehrman
Laurence the first vicar
And Ludwigs (with more emphasis on his holy blade part)
Ludwig and Laurence
11:17 The badges unlock weapons and other things at the store
Didn’t know that thanks
I love when ludwigs theme syncs up with the attacks, so satisfying
1:10:00 I love how NOBODY fight Micolash fair, screw that excuse for a boss
I love bloodborne so much, it's one of my favorite games of all time. I am still so sad that there was no next gen/60 fps/4k update. BB for sure deserves to be treated better 😢
such a well made video, your gameplay feels so fresh and your commentary makes it seem so fun. A well deserved subscription 👍
Bloodborne will forever be the peak of fromsoftware
ER is kinda objectively the peak, if anything in sheer terms of development and what they achieved. BB is amazing but also I feel like it's a bit overrated due to the forbidden fruit effect, as the game is stuck on the PS4 and hasn't had an accessible modern release in 9 years. I expect the community feelings of sheer adoration for it to shift to more realistic levels once it gets a proper modern release like a remaster or PC port.
@@steel5897lol, then you don't know the community
@@steel5897Elden Ring is the biggest, but Bloodborne is the best
Bloodborne was the first souls game i played through fully without dropping (i dropped ds3 a while ago because i sucked, i plan on going back) and it's genuinely my favorite game if all time. The atmosphere, the story, the gameplay, everything about it is amazing to me.
Dude never learned the power of the LHB charge R2 into R2
Currently got my ass kicked by Lady Maria 10+ times I’m gonna try again later tonight and yes this is my very first Bloodborne playthrough
I've never seen anyone beat Micholash in this way!! This is so fun
@@curtisthecactus Very true, that does explain a lot, hahaha.
@@curtisthecactuseveryone has their break through title.
Good stuff, fun to watch :)

when your in transformed weapon mode you get new attacks with L2, with the whirlygig its basically the pizzacutter from elden ring :)
This is how it works for humans with every single skill, there are studies about it, if you do it for an hour or a few hours, take a 15 minutes break, and you will get better at it, even better if you go to sleep and get back to it the next day
that's very interesting and good to know, thanks :)
@@curtisthecactus this is how i saw a lot of people beat malenia, came back the next day, beat her first try, better than bashing head against a wall for 12 hours
I’ve definitely been there on the latter, being to stubborn in challenge runs where I just waste hours tilting and not wanting to let her win the mental game LOL
You missed the hidden throne room after the boss at the top the the castle
For the backstabs you have to do a fully charged attack behind an enemy.
Best move with the saw cleaver is the transword attack. just spam transfor after hitting the enemy once
I love how many people got into content creation (or got bigger) because of Elden Ring.
My guy bought a whole ps5 "just" for bloodborn what a goat
Well this was the first vid of yours i have seen and i am impressed, great laid back commentary style. Will be checking out your other work for sure
bloodborne was peak fromsoftware, I played elden ring and dark souls 3 after that they just not on par with bloodborne in terms of in game atmosphere and combat. u can literally spam ur way to victory with just magic spell in elden ring
Awesome! Glad that you thoroughly enjoyed Bloodborne and the DLC though you didn't experience ALL the bosses. Try looking for the well and dropping inside and see if you can score the secret weapon!
Homie just casually drops Djura off the roof and has no remorse about it. Respect
Bloodborne is a great souls game. I’ve watched many videos but haven’t been able to play it due to lack of PlayStation and money.

Thats an honestly sick thumbnail! Hope you enjoyed Bloodborne.
thanks! and I did, loved every second of it!
We both do.
What did he screw up to be doing so little damage with Ludwig's

Let’s go was waiting for this been here since 20 subs!!
Great vid, love the editing of boss fights where you skip to how low the boss was when you died.
Not having jump hits really hurt curt
It was my last FS game since I never owned a console before playing it. People were telling me that it was the hardest but I found it easier than all others since the parry system is very generous with time and I guess I had a ton of experience in other FS games that helped with BB
You’ve gained a sub merry Christmas

Totally. That’s the feeling I was getting.
Just started playing this myself, after completing recent From games Elden Ring, AC6, and Sekiro. It took me a little while to get used to the feel of combat in this one - to me, it’s a little more organic and squishy than its similar peers, but it clicked after about 2 hours or so and now I am loving this!
I hope you enjoyed the game :) a little sad to see that you didn’t find the hidden area, which is in my opinion the best area in the entire game.
I thought cainhurst was the only hidden area?

The way you cheesed Micolash honestly made me so happy. That boss honestly makes me rethink replaying the game
Great video... I absolutely love bloodborne and I hope you enjoyed it!!
It's so good! probably top 3 in terms of souls for me, but idk if it's recency bias or not
This is still the only Souls game (FromSoft created) that I completed. The gothic horror victorian setting is absolutely stunning and Ludwig's Holy Blade still remains one of my favourite weapons from any of their games.
"This is for you guy"
You're welcome bud lol XD
I was wondering why your damage was so damn low, and then I saw the natural fire damage you were doing with your sword and everything clicked
Living through you for this one as I don’t have a console only a pc. Kinda hoping for an official pc port
160 damage per hit on Mergo with LHB is crazy. Either no good gems or wonky stat allocation
In any case, it will forever be the best Fromsoft game in my eyes. The world, weapons, gameplay and bosses are just like nothing else
Also just in case no one else mentioned it so far, you missed your chance to fight the final boss, the tentacle creature that appeared at the end.
