I think it would be awesome if the "Tree Of Life" would be a permanent meta unlock system, that would be carried over between saves. This would also help with save game retention. I might be in the minority, but I know that I often end up starting new games after, say 5 - 10 hours or so. Usually because the town can't grow organically any more, because of resource scarcity or building space limits, or of course because of my own mistakes/poor planning. This would really help encourage people to see their save game through to the end. I honestly can't remember the last time I actually followed through to some sort of "completion" with a colony/city-builder save.
Not my most favourite gameplay, but I never forgot about this one because of its beauty and details - even the events screen - and vikings always get me anyway.
Being a danish person in Denmark I can wholeheartedly confirm that winter here sucks. It's cold af, windy af, rainy af and there's mud and misery everywhere. My pout here is that if you were to live here a thousand years ago you would most definitely want to stuck up on firewood and grain for the winter! Nothing is growing here in the winter. Posiedon, however, was more a Greek thing. Like hair on the back. Here I believe the correct deity was Aegir, who wasn't really a God, as such, but more like a oceanic troll beast thing. Looks like a fun little game. Unfortunately it's just like a whole host of other games doing pretty much the same. Vikings are cool though, so there's that 👍😁
For a shipyard, I'd call upon Njord. He was a god of sailing and shipbuilding, after all. Ægir might be good to have on side if you're setting out on a sea voyage, though!
Njord has the portfolio for human activities on or by the sea, you'd pay your respect to him to have good fortune; Ægir and Ran were jætter ("giants"), and as such didn't really care either way about human endeavors. You'd pay your respect to them in order to not get smacked in the face with all that can go wrong when you're dependent on the sea.
Wish there was a guerrilla warfare simulator. Setting up a base in the forest. Recruiting, training and launching ambushes against a conventional force while also winning the hearts and minds of the populace.
Maybe you could make that game. That's a genuinely good idea. Also it doesn't sound like it's that complex to make. Maybe you could make a total conversion mod of another game and then license the rights to sell the mod. That and/or you could just make a game with like super simple graphics.
I love Banished style games, but I don't like the idea of having to manually tell your people when to harvest crops because the auto crop harvesting is gated behind tech trees. That seems a little too much to me.
One minute in I liked this video, "It's Banished".Good. Point of reference. I own and Banished, I like/dislike Banished for 'reasons' and am keen to play that style of game; will definitely play games like it in the future. I've got 30 minutes with Slatt, cut to that chase my man, I value you're input.
After reading Steam reviews it seems this game needs more time to bake before it is playable beyond the first dozen or so hours. The game does show promise, so it's staying on my wishlist.
When you play long enough, you end up with most houses occupied by some single old person and their child into their 60's that will never leave home. That's not Denmark. We have no Mountains. the highest point is 172,52 m "high" and there are no fjords or really harsh winters. It's actually the most pleasant area of Scandinavia. The "Vikings" living here had lots of food and the densest population of all of scandinavia in the vikingage.
You if wish for Chicken Eggs, one requires a Rooster. Mother Nature has such rules that cannot be broken. LOL! Your Ranger buddies chicken likely met a Rooster not to long before his departure... ;)
Nah, hens actually lay eggs every day or two no matter what. The difference with a rooster is that the eggs might be fertilized and thus have the ability to create more chickens. A lot of times you actually want to separate your hens from any roosters to make sure your eggs aren't fertilized, because if they incubate too long and then you go to eat them you can end up with actual chicken fetuses in your breakfast and that is really not usually what you want.
I fell in love with this game upon first sight of this video, downloaded it and it simply won't go past the starting screen, then stops working. Guess that's what Early Access means sometimes. Hope this gets fixed soon.
Ever since Banished, I've been looking for a worthy successor. I want a game that gives that authentic Medieval Europe feeling, and this looks like the best contender I've seen so far. If someone knows of a colony survival game like that, let me know about it please!
I hope they have his permission for that. He tweeted about how shitty it is that he has to get after some Devs to remove references to himself from their games sometimes.

why do you reviewers always have to draw comparisons to other titles instead of taking a game for it's own identity? why? as if Banished was the inventor of this genre. It wasn't. Are there similarities? Sure. But you might as well compare it to the Civilization titles or Frostpunk or whatever other hundreds of titles are out there that have remotely to do with farming, building a town etc..
