Very informative video. I have always used my right hand to apply force, and hence always struggled with the casting distance. Now, I will use this technique to improve my casting distance. But there is a little bit of confusion. The fishing rod is said to be an example of a third-class lever to which effort or force is applied in the middle. So, if it is a class three lever, the force must come form the right hand. Please elaborate.

does lots of pressure build on casting finger from the line up into before the release? And does pressure build on hook and bait at the end of the line. I find that the pressure on end of line will rip the hook through a pva bag? Any advice?

You are contradicting yourself now Terry, in your Angling Direct video, you say the right hand is used to punch the rod, punch pull👍

Funny, 🤔 I've actually just watched a video you did with A.D.T.V where you say exactly the opposite!!! that you do want your right arm slightly bent behind your head and IT IS a punch action and you pull through with your left arm into the middle of your body!!!! To be fair that video was only a few years ago so I guess we all can improve our technics, even the the great Terry. I just thought I would mention it so people don't make these mistakes!!!! 😱

I always worry if I put too much in I'll snap my rods or crack off, I'm sure I could do 200 yards if that didn't bother me

The mistake I had been making for so many years has been rightly pointed out here in this video. It is the pull not push that makes a long cast.
