In this video, I install the AZDOME M550 3-Channel Dash Cam in my 2006 Porsche Cayman S show the features of the Dash Cam and follow up with a review in many different driving conditions. I was very impressed with the Dash Cam's ability to record in the most grueling environments, including while it was raining at night. The resolution and ability to review and save the video were very impressive. This dash cam has 3 cameras: Forward facing, Cabin facing with InfraRed IR and Rear facing. I would not hesitate purchasing additional AZDOME M550 3-Channel Dash Cams for my other vehicles.

Thank you for that review, it helps me a lot cause I'm an Uber Driver. Also, I can mount it where it's also hidden from view. I have a Vantrue N4 3 Channel Dashcam but, since I bought an older Ford Explorer, the cord is just too short to get to the cigarette lighter power. So, I like this dash cam because, the cord seems a lot longer and the dash cam is more portable and small.

I installed the Dashcam M550 pro, with the AZDOME connection kit with fuses, the camera heats up and it does not record everything, it records about 1 hour in a day.
It is new with the SD card provided.
Mercedes GLA x156 vehicle year 2019.

In Park Monitor, there are 3 options for the Azdome M550 Dash Cam:
1. Time Lapse Parking Mode
2. Motion Detection Parking Mode
3. Collision Detection Parking Mode
• When I click one, the other goes off.
• All 3 can’t be on at the same time, is that right?
• Which one should be on when driving?
• Which one should be on if I’m not in the car and someone hits it in a parking lot?
• Do you have to change to another Parking mode if you’re not driving?

hello, i bought the same cam, also i bought the same wire kit, but on my kit is red wire on full power, and yelllow wire is with label acc. Cam doesnt function well. Sometimes it starts automaticaly and sometimes not. Also parking mode doesnt work. In my manual is writen the same labels, red wire constant streem, yellow accesory. Could be it incorrect on two places?
Does anyone know how to save an event? I can't find it anywhere.

Thank you! I got this dashcam few months ago, but last week I bought the hardwire cable. Are you using any of the switch for prevent battery drain? When my car is off battery gives me 11.6v...
I'm not using a switch. I let the hardwire kit stop power to the dash cam when the DC voltage drops. My battery is typically weak if I let the car sit for a few days.
@@PatsGarageOnline yes, the hardwire has a module where you select the voltage where you wish the camera stops to receive power. The minimum value is 11.8v, when battery is below that, the cam stops recording. I'm afraid that if I don't set any drain protection my battery will be drained. Normally I use the car every two-three days.
Nice video! Do you know how to get the screen to completely to turn off while I drive? Whenever I turn the screen off when driving it keeps coming on like 20 seconds later
This can happen if you selected motion detection in the settings. Go to 18:20 in the video and watch to see where motion detection is unchecked and be sure that yours is also unchecked. You may also need to disable the impact detection to low or off at 19:20 in the video.
Becarful people you need a key start vehicle to use the 3 parking modes and hard wire sold separately because you need to put key in and turn to lock position 😉 very sneaky
Hi Pat, I just purchased this dashcam two weeks ago and finally just installed it today. I got question regarding the hardwire. I purchased both M550 & JYX02 kit. I don't have experience on installing myself so I drive to nearby car audio technician to play safe. During installation I realize he skipped using the tap. The technician is using my android car player power where he connected the red to red, yellow to yellow and black to ground. Will this also consider hardwire and enable park mode?
In order to test if the installer did it correctly, use the AZDome app to view your videos. If the car is turned off and there is video recorded, then it is hardwired correctly.
I’m looking to buy this dash cam. Do you like it so far? And have you had any problems with it?

Do you know how to view video footage? Do you have to take out the sd card? Can I stream to my phone?
You can save to the phone using the AZDome app and connecting to the camera with wifi, or pull from the SD card after plugging it into your computer.
This cam keeps stopping in the middle of recording... sometimes it could be 10 seconds in, 20 secs in, or a minute... but it would just randomly stop recording and takes about 5 seconds to restart and then go again and again... Already tried different SD cards.. and updated firmware... and it still continues to do the same thing... This caused me to miss an almost accident on the road.. Is there a fix?
Please reach out to the seller or manufacturer. There's definitely a problem that can't be fixed on our own.
Do you have issue setting up the app? I went through the process and arrived at the apps main screen and the dashcam was recognized. However, when I pressed the record option or the name of the device, I kept getting the message "..Please off the wifi DVR" or something and then then the wifi screen popped up. I check the screen and the dashcam was hooked up via wifi. Any clue? Thx
I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue. I have not experienced this and don't know how to troubleshoot it. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer.

Hi Pat, i have a deposit down on a 2016 bmw i8 47,000 miles. Apparently when the dealer took Possession of them car, apparently they replaced the shifter assembly because they said that the car would not go into gear. They said that originally thought the car needed to be reprogrammed, which they had an independent shop do, but they said that the shop misdiagnosed it. Thus the replacement of the shifter assembly. Should I be concerned about this vehicle and would the shifter assembly affect the car not going into gear. Hopefully you see this post and be gracious enough to give me your advice and opinion. Per 1:24 I had purchased 3 different things. The hardwire kit, the dashcam and the mount. All 3 of these don't come with a dashcam purchase.

My M550 didn’t come with an inside rear mount. I really don’t want to drill a hole next to my license plate. Any ideas on how to mount it inside?

Can the speed display in that dashcam be removed?
I don't believe so. I have a DDPai Mini 3 dashcam in my supercar and no speed is recorded.
The way you showed in the video to power the cam using the hardwire kit, you incorrectly installed one of the fused tap cables. One of those taps is bypassing the fuse, which of course is a fire hazard. Please correct your video to show which pronged connection is the source and which is the load sides. Thank you.

Message AZDome. It's possible that the SD Card became corrupted.
@@PatsGarageOnline I have bought all of them and samsung but it is still the same and I have seen that it is a software problem but nobody knows how to fix it , I spoke with support and they don't know how to fix it either
@@QBAN_BOY Since I've never encountered this problem, I sadly don't know what to suggest. AZDome support should be able to do whatever is possible to make it right.
@@QBAN_BOY I know this post is a couple of months old but I had this happen with another dashcam (not the Azdome) and it would reset all of the camera settings everytime the car started. It turned out to be that the firmware was out of date and had a glitch.
That company emailed me the updated firm ware files and I downloaded them to the SD card. Once inserted in the camera, the update happened automatically and never had that issue again.
It might be worth asking for the most up-to-date firmware if you haven't been able to fix this issue.
use the extra wiring kit and it’s killed my wife’s battery twice so I’m thinking of taking the power off for the parking mode
