@@azumag4432 I'm not gonna lie u got some alright taste with some of these but half of them are misses, no rezero or overlord in top 7 but konosuba as 1?? Konosuba is good but its hella overrated when compared to mushoku tensei or rezero.
I love how professional Beatrix is. she is fighting calmly and methodically without emotional clouding her judgement and she even improved a bit when she was able to see shadow's movements near the end.

I'm pretty sure her ego is just broken. Despite alpha saving her ass, and knowing they're against a cult. She just wants to be the talk of the kingdom. That's how I see her anyway.
There is also the part where she thinks he is the one who kidnapped her sister. Though the anime really does play up her anger compared to the manga/novel.
This gets even worse for her when she realizes shadow defeated the dragon that destroyed the previous capital of Midgar when cid was still a kid 😂. He defeated it with an incomplete version of the "I am atomic" attack. Now that dragon and all the monsters under it serve cid which is why all the monsters on that mountain where the old capital is located (now the base of shadow garden) don't attack the shadow garden members. That mist on that mountain is a poisonous mist that that dragon release but it has no effect on the shadow garden member because the dragon can choose who it can poison. That dragon is also so powerful that it nearly killed all the members of the seven shades until cid showed up to stop it. Even cid couldn't kill it. He was only able to beat him but couldn't kill the mist dragon even when he tried although that was cid when he was still like 12 or something so he could probably kill it now. Cid is 16 now.
Slight spoiler ahead Rose is gonna be part of a second seven shades that alpha is planning on creating. They'll be the second group in command of shadow garden after the first seven shades. Rose is a descendant of the human hero from what I remember and cid unlocks her true potential. Her and another girl called Victoria are the first two candidates for the second seven shades.
8:49 remember, Alpha a disciple of Shadow made her look like a noob/dumbo in front of her clan and she declared him a terrorist/public enemy to cope with the fact that she is powerless..
So, when Cid said he was going to show them the witch's power and then went on the water, he was talking about Aurora's attacks where she used blood magic. He was using water and that's why he said "water is weak when channeling magic through it." Still it was cool that he could ride the water, like when he rode on Aurora's blood magic during their duel lol. I loved seeing Iris be super pissed off because she took pride in being the protector of the kingdom, only to kinda be put on the backburner by everyone after her tournament and now Cid doesn't take her seriously at all and her logic was "he has to be using an artifact" lol. Now she's pissed because she knows there's no way he was and he still easily beats her. Also, Rose's story looks like it's going to be super interesting, gotta feel bad for her though, she's giving up everything and has lost everything AND on top of that, gets labeled 666 lol. I heard Sherry wasn't in the LN during this arc so I guess it's cool we get to see her going crazy. Oh yeah, biggest thing I have to say is fuckin' mad PROPS to this studio for putting out 20 episodes during a season where SOO many good shows are getting put on hold.
the thing with rose is that she's gonna feel so much better if she learns that Cid IS Shadow, cuz it seems like she really doesn't want to forget her love for him, but once she learns that Cid is literally her boss now, she'll probably be pretty content with it, probably even motivated to prove herself to him

The first time was when they were practicing and he saw all her openings but let her pummel him into the water, then afterwards she felt her neck like it was a vulnerability he could've used. There's quite a few "hmmm.." moments between them two.

Go read the manga and you will realize they did this anime adaptation very poorly. The delivery, the lines, the cutting of key elements as well as the having stuff all over the place when they didnt need too. It's like they spent all their budget on animation then modified the story to try and fit the voice actors they could get for it.
Got to love Cid bc be just does not care. Everyone else is fighting for their lives yet shadow feels no threat. That's why he is stronger than anyone, his training methods are insane, effective, and brutal. He shows no fear for his life, so he goes for crazy plays. No one truly knows Cid bc he is always playing a role, "shadow" the op leader of shadow garden or "Cid" the normal student.
We see small glimpses of who he truly is several times like with the actual revenge kill he did or how he loves piano and hates people using powers they don`t truly worked for since all skills and power he has is his and comes from training like idiot for 30 years giving his 2 lives
There's a "major announcement" for Eminence in the Shadow on the 22nd, everyone seems to think its gonna be an announcement for Season 2 and rumors are that its gonna be this year. We'll see how it goes in the end, but Eminence will definitely get a season 2 eventually, they set up a lot of stuff for later on in the story, and you don't hire Dio for a character that won't show up until much later unless you're in it for the long run.
I don't buy into rumors but all things point towards a second season coming soon or in the works. The japanese version of this episode that aired in japan had a screenshot that basically said season 2 that didn't appear on the hidive version we had in the west.

IMO Iris wasn't referencing the current fight with Shadow, but rather the confusion and destruction Shadow Garden's war against The Cult of Diabolos is doing. Exploded the underground ruins, creating a great hole in the middle of the capital, then took over a school and killed its Vice Principal and some of her Crimson Knights.
If you watch the episode again you will see Iris did the least damage to the city compared to Cid nad beatrix, most of her attacks here hitting nothing meanwhile those two were destroying stuff just by colliding.
Cid: If I had a nickel for every girl that fondly keeps a burger wrapper I gave them, I'd have two nickels. While isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Iris is what happen when you never fails then experience a series of failure. Cid is really being pull in by his method acting that the boy in his inner heart needs to remind him to rein it in.
She was frustrated to the point of being mad because it was this moment that she realized that making a country feel safe is impossible against someone like Shadow. She realized how powerless she is against someone in his level.
Cid’s one liners are what make him so badass even for a show that’s meant to be stupid Also him breaking Iris’ ego and showing her she was completely outclassed and seen as fodder was so nice to see
I am really satisfied with this adaptation and both the final battle and the Sherry scene was PERFECT. Now I am waiting eagerly for a next season and hopefully you will react to it once again If It comes
Speaking of the final battle, I love it when the camera up close to Cid vs Beatrice they show their sword exchange as in normal speed but when the camera is from afar or from Iris perspective we see only the sparkles left. That's show the studio know what their doing of how normal people like Iris can't keep up with their speeds.
Remember cid not only mastered every fighting style from this world, he also mastered every fighting style from his previous world. He is also a science genius although he didn't master every science in his previous world he still knows alot about scientific stuff which is why his knowledge is far superior than this world knowledge since his previous world were more advanced technologically and scientifically. He also mastered every meditation style etc from his previous world and combined it with magic technique from this world to better control his magic. This wasn't really explained but that's why cid and the other shadow garden members have different color mana from everyone else. It's because of the advanced magic techniques he created that causes there magic to be a different color. The normal mana color of people are red but in shadow garden the strong members have blue mana whereas cids mana is purple and has things that look like circuits moving through it.
also in the light novel cid reveals that he is constantly training by manipulating magic particles in his body also how he has trained his body to only need around three hours of sleep. the novels also explain how cid all on his own comes up with the slim suit and it was hinted that all the meditation and religious stuff cid did in his previous life to attain magic is the reason why he is able to sense magic from birth
and only cids magic is that purplish bluish colour according to the manga and novel. alpha herself commented how he is the only person in the world whose magic is that colour.
I love how Beatrix in that episode basically compares Cid’s power and ass whooping to being a natural disaster lmao. And says there are some things mortals can not hope to fight and the he’s one of them.
That fight was so epic in how it showed Shadow being so OP. No music to detract from the fact that it was just that. A fight. Best fight I have seen in a long while!
I see no cap in the title. Definitely clears most isekai apart from Mushoku Tensei and Konosuba for me (still on par) This finale was phenomenal. Animation, direction, voice acting and sound design all great. Hopefully we get a season 2 announcement during the stream on Wednesday because this was such a gem
@@batorian03 it's titled the grandfather of isekai because it sticks to what an isekai is and brings out the true meaning and hardships of "adventure" without having an insanely OP main character. Theres a ton of world building not many other isekais do well which makes Mushoku so special.
When cid is in shadow mode his face hides in a black shadow so nobody can’t see his face... We anime watchers just can see his face in shadow mode The animators made that way so we can see cid face expression when he goes crazy mode
No one will be able to figure out that Shadow is Cid. The anime does not mention it but in the manga it is said that Shadow's hood "creates an illusion" and everyone who looks at Shadow's face even from close range just sees only dark.
12:00 he actually want to nuke the entire kingdom, but the child cid inside his mind said "yamero(stop)" (without voice, only lipss gesture), so he change his mind and say he was just joking and aim his nuke into the sky, that's the reason why the entire sky around the kingdom change from heavy rainy to bright sunshine.

At most, Iris damaged the scaffolded building ( and that's mostly Cid acting like he was being thrown into it ) and a little bit the clocktower with her last two attacks. So she's kinda right, adding to the fact I'm pretty sure she isn't only speaking about this fight but everything else that happened in Midgard's capital before.
The catgirl on the boat is the 7th Shade Zeta, the mist dragon battle is detailed in the Gachi game master of the garden, and the Dark elf cutting up 666 clothes is Lambda. Yes Rose is officially 666 in the credits of the story.
When he’s disappearing in front of Beatrix, what’s really being illustrated is how stupidly fast Cid is, even compared to the war goddess. It’s shown from his perspective, so it appears as if time is dramatically slowed down to a walking pace.
That Naze (why) was so badass with that sound distortion. Without it wouldn't be so powerful. Most people overlook it but that's my favorite little part of that. Yep call me cheap but that's my price, just add a little distortion.
He did launch the attack at the end. However, he sent the attack into the sky. Notice it's dark and raining before the attack and after the clouds are gone and the blue sky and sun are out.
I LOVE the cinematography for Shadow vs Beatrix. Never have I seen someone use such clever framing and intentionally NOT animate to show the speed of a character. It's brilliant.

There's been a rumor about a second season, I don't really put faith into rumors unless it's official though. I'd say it's safe to say though that this will get a second season, there's no reason for it not to. They also have the special announcement next week. If there's anything right now that points the most to a second season is that the actual japan aired version of this episode had an image pointing to it that we didn't get to see on the hidive stream. If you recall how the opening of each arc changed the final image to fit the setting of the arc, well the japanese version of this episode had one of those images that was 100% the setting for the next arc. There seems to be little reason for them to include that unless another season was in the works.
Alexandria (アレクサンドリア, Arekusandoria?) was the former ancient capital of the Midgar Kingdom until it was destroyed by the guardian Mist Dragon, upset at an ancient king for not upholding a vow to kill it. Centuries later, it became the Shadow Garden headquarters base after Shadow bested the Mist Dragon in battle.
Fun fact: Shadow actually activated the Nuke,but he sent it straight into the sky (that's why suddenly after his attack the sun shines and the rain stopped)
I thought he was going to actually do I-am-atomic but purposefully shield all living beings in the target zone. But the current result actually fits his “behind the scenes” ambitions more with people thinking Iris and Beatrix were able to beat him.
Following in the footsteps of Madara Uchiha, Cid beat those who thought themselves surperior, with great ease And then pulls a perfect susanoo equivalent move to break them even further.
I love how its Shadow vs War Goddess and Iris is just there getting disrespected the entire time he barely pays attention to her existence she is literally a background character in the fight and its funny.
Cid can move in mid air because of one of his techniques he explained in Ep. 2. Cid said to compress some mana onto a part of his body, and that can be released to create explosive force to move at extreme speeds. But it is explained in the novel that you have to have Mana circuits that can take the immense abuse of this technique.
In the last moment he redirected the "i am atomic" to the sky, so the rain and clouds were expelled by the explosion. The whole city was covered by clouds a moment after... the sun, so he could have the city destroyed if he wanted it.
he explained pretty early on that the sword styles in this world are really crude and inneficient he just has the perceptive ability to read their attacks and he knows how to defend himself no matter what its so cool to me
There is a hint that supposingly foreshadow season 2, it is where Cid shoots out columns of water and Betrix said it is a vampire attack. For those that knows, that will be the next arc in the light novel and manga.
I genuinely thought that Cid was gonna blow up the entire capital and that Shadow Garden was gonna start hunting him down in the next season. It was so intense
Best thing is that we needed an isekai with an overpowered MC who can be evil and good when needed. Not just generic ohh i am afraid to kill ill turn evil and that stuff. Cid just doesnt care. Bloodlust during the tournament and killing in the school in early episodes, and just in general he doesn't care. Really cool. We need more of this kind Isekai.
iris realized there is nothing they can do if he decides to destroy the capital if he wants. she felt hopless as she thought she was one of the strongest in the capital
2:40 - 2:50 When you ask about what is he doing, I think that he is just changing tempos while mid fighting, like he goes and a certain speed then slows down and accelarates at specific moments. That initially could throw off Bellatrix, she can see him moving but is not accustomed to someone changing gears in such way. For example she says later is like watching rain droplets, she can see them falling but cant catch up with all of them as they have different velocities I guess. Then at 9:06 she says she's finally accustomed, Im guessing to his gear changes. I think that looks like for example on Demon Slayer, a breathing technique that works the same, altering mid strike the velocities and timings.
The gap between between iris and the shadow and Beatrix is hilarious Beatrix is actually skilled and can fight iris by comparison can barely catch up to the fight lmao

Last scene he was just practicing lines. Never take Cid too seriously.;) There will be a fun dynamic with claire and cids real identity in season 2, but it might be a long time before she is truly in the know.
The mist dragon event is recounted in the light novel, Shadow challenged a dragon to test his power and by winning the dragon became an ally under the condition that Shadow kills him in the future, the dragon helps shadow garden to protect their base since that mist is a magical poison that will kill anyone who doesn't have a slime suit or travels too closely with someone who does. The craziest events happen from volume 3 and the anime only showed the first two.
14:28 the mist dragon story was covered in the game. I don't know if they'll cover it in the next season though, might just take up time for no reason. As a light novel reader the eminence in shadow final episode aka episode 20 was super epic . Because future potential spoiler of season 2 or light novel volume 6 , sherry turn into a villain , lawless city arc , vampire arc , john smith arc , return of japan arc , oriana kingdom arc , shadow v.s iris / beatrix city fight was amazing , shadow kick there ass , iris turn into a villain or join cult of diablos , perv kickass incoming , high member of cult of diablos , beatrix her niece alpha aka elf kingdom arc story line , alexia new path same as shadow or future aillies of shadow garden and rose officially join shadow garden aka ( number 666 was devil female lilith version of the group ) .

You saw big flashy fire sword and just assumed Iris was the one that destroyed all those buildings. She literally caused the least amount of destruction in the fight. And let's not choose to ignore the times where he was just nuking cities just to show off and during the "all range atomic" he destroyed a dam and caused severe flooding.

There's a "major announcement" for Eminence in the Shadow on the 22nd, everyone seems to think its gonna be an announcement for Season 2 and rumors are that its gonna be this year.
We'll see how it goes in the end, but Eminence will definitely get a season 2 eventually, they set up a lot of stuff for later on in the story, and you don't hire Dio for a character that won't show up until much later unless you're in it for the long run.
I don't buy into rumors but all things point towards a second season coming soon or in the works. The japanese version of this episode that aired in japan had a screenshot that basically said season 2 that didn't appear on the hidive version we had in the west.
Season 2 would be nice, but I put more stock in a movie for the Vampire arc.

IMO Iris wasn't referencing the current fight with Shadow, but rather the confusion and destruction Shadow Garden's war against The Cult of Diabolos is doing.
Exploded the underground ruins, creating a great hole in the middle of the capital, then took over a school and killed its Vice Principal and some of her Crimson Knights.
If you watch the episode again you will see Iris did the least damage to the city compared to Cid nad beatrix, most of her attacks here hitting nothing meanwhile those two were destroying stuff just by colliding.

Cid is really being pull in by his method acting that the boy in his inner heart needs to remind him to rein it in.
She was frustrated to the point of being mad because it was this moment that she realized that making a country feel safe is impossible against someone like Shadow. She realized how powerless she is against someone in his level.

Speaking of the final battle, I love it when the camera up close to Cid vs Beatrice they show their sword exchange as in normal speed but when the camera is from afar or from Iris perspective we see only the sparkles left. That's show the studio know what their doing of how normal people like Iris can't keep up with their speeds.

That he's parrying a mithril greatsword with ancient runes by a plain old crowbar is a whole flex.
Remember cid not only mastered every fighting style from this world, he also mastered every fighting style from his previous world. He is also a science genius although he didn't master every science in his previous world he still knows alot about scientific stuff which is why his knowledge is far superior than this world knowledge since his previous world were more advanced technologically and scientifically. He also mastered every meditation style etc from his previous world and combined it with magic technique from this world to better control his magic. This wasn't really explained but that's why cid and the other shadow garden members have different color mana from everyone else. It's because of the advanced magic techniques he created that causes there magic to be a different color. The normal mana color of people are red but in shadow garden the strong members have blue mana whereas cids mana is purple and has things that look like circuits moving through it.
also in the light novel cid reveals that he is constantly training by manipulating magic particles in his body also how he has trained his body to only need around three hours of sleep. the novels also explain how cid all on his own comes up with the slim suit and it was hinted that all the meditation and religious stuff cid did in his previous life to attain magic is the reason why he is able to sense magic from birth
and only cids magic is that purplish bluish colour according to the manga and novel. alpha herself commented how he is the only person in the world whose magic is that colour.
He did release his bomb, but to the sky and clean up all the rain clouds, not the city.

That fight was so epic in how it showed Shadow being so OP. No music to detract from the fact that it was just that. A fight. Best fight I have seen in a long while!
I see no cap in the title. Definitely clears most isekai apart from Mushoku Tensei and Konosuba for me (still on par) This finale was phenomenal. Animation, direction, voice acting and sound design all great. Hopefully we get a season 2 announcement during the stream on Wednesday because this was such a gem

@@batorian03 it's titled the grandfather of isekai because it sticks to what an isekai is and brings out the true meaning and hardships of "adventure" without having an insanely OP main character. Theres a ton of world building not many other isekais do well which makes Mushoku so special.

No one will be able to figure out that Shadow is Cid. The anime does not mention it but in the manga it is said that Shadow's hood "creates an illusion" and everyone who looks at Shadow's face even from close range just sees only dark.

12:00 he actually want to nuke the entire kingdom, but the child cid inside his mind said "yamero(stop)" (without voice, only lipss gesture), so he change his mind and say he was just joking and aim his nuke into the sky, that's the reason why the entire sky around the kingdom change from heavy rainy to bright sunshine.

Basically the entire battle of this episode in anime is original scene.

@@TheAndymacm Iris did pretty much nothing to the city, watch more closely. It was mostly Cid and Beatrix sending shockwaves with each blow they exchanged. At most, Iris damaged the scaffolded building ( and that's mostly Cid acting like he was being thrown into it ) and a little bit the clocktower with her last two attacks. So she's kinda right, adding to the fact I'm pretty sure she isn't only speaking about this fight but everything else that happened in Midgard's capital before.

When he’s disappearing in front of Beatrix, what’s really being illustrated is how stupidly fast Cid is, even compared to the war goddess. It’s shown from his perspective, so it appears as if time is dramatically slowed down to a walking pace.
That Naze (why) was so badass with that sound distortion. Without it wouldn't be so powerful. Most people overlook it but that's my favorite little part of that. Yep call me cheap but that's my price, just add a little distortion.

There's been a rumor about a second season, I don't really put faith into rumors unless it's official though. I'd say it's safe to say though that this will get a second season, there's no reason for it not to. They also have the special announcement next week.
If there's anything right now that points the most to a second season is that the actual japan aired version of this episode had an image pointing to it that we didn't get to see on the hidive stream. If you recall how the opening of each arc changed the final image to fit the setting of the arc, well the japanese version of this episode had one of those images that was 100% the setting for the next arc. There seems to be little reason for them to include that unless another season was in the works.

Fun fact: Shadow actually activated the Nuke,but he sent it straight into the sky (that's why suddenly after his attack the sun shines and the rain stopped)
I thought he was going to actually do I-am-atomic but purposefully shield all living beings in the target zone.
But the current result actually fits his “behind the scenes” ambitions more with people thinking Iris and Beatrix were able to beat him.

I love how its Shadow vs War Goddess and Iris is just there getting disrespected the entire time he barely pays attention to her existence she is literally a background character in the fight and its funny.
Cid can move in mid air because of one of his techniques he explained in Ep. 2. Cid said to compress some mana onto a part of his body, and that can be released to create explosive force to move at extreme speeds. But it is explained in the novel that you have to have Mana circuits that can take the immense abuse of this technique.
In the last moment he redirected the "i am atomic" to the sky, so the rain and clouds were expelled by the explosion. The whole city was covered by clouds a moment after... the sun, so he could have the city destroyed if he wanted it.
he explained pretty early on that the sword styles in this world are really crude and inneficient he just has the perceptive ability to read their attacks and he knows how to defend himself no matter what its so cool to me

There is a hint that supposingly foreshadow season 2, it is where Cid shoots out columns of water and Betrix said it is a vampire attack. For those that knows, that will be the next arc in the light novel and manga.

Best thing is that we needed an isekai with an overpowered MC who can be evil and good when needed. Not just generic ohh i am afraid to kill ill turn evil and that stuff. Cid just doesnt care. Bloodlust during the tournament and killing in the school in early episodes, and just in general he doesn't care. Really cool. We need more of this kind Isekai.

iris realized there is nothing they can do if he decides to destroy the capital if he wants. she felt hopless as she thought she was one of the strongest in the capital
2:40 - 2:50 When you ask about what is he doing, I think that he is just changing tempos while mid fighting, like he goes and a certain speed then slows down and accelarates at specific moments. That initially could throw off Bellatrix, she can see him moving but is not accustomed to someone changing gears in such way. For example she says later is like watching rain droplets, she can see them falling but cant catch up with all of them as they have different velocities I guess. Then at 9:06 she says she's finally accustomed, Im guessing to his gear changes. I think that looks like for example on Demon Slayer, a breathing technique that works the same, altering mid strike the velocities and timings.
The gap between between iris and the shadow and Beatrix is hilarious Beatrix is actually skilled and can fight iris by comparison can barely catch up to the fight lmao

The mist dragon event is recounted in the light novel, Shadow challenged a dragon to test his power and by winning the dragon became an ally under the condition that Shadow kills him in the future, the dragon helps shadow garden to protect their base since that mist is a magical poison that will kill anyone who doesn't have a slime suit or travels too closely with someone who does. The craziest events happen from volume 3 and the anime only showed the first two.

As a light novel reader the eminence in shadow final episode aka episode 20 was super epic . Because future potential spoiler of season 2 or light novel volume 6 , sherry turn into a villain , lawless city arc , vampire arc , john smith arc , return of japan arc , oriana kingdom arc , shadow v.s iris / beatrix city fight was amazing , shadow kick there ass , iris turn into a villain or join cult of diablos , perv kickass incoming , high member of cult of diablos , beatrix her niece alpha aka elf kingdom arc story line , alexia new path same as shadow or future aillies of shadow garden and rose officially join shadow garden aka ( number 666 was devil female lilith version of the group ) .
