    Lifetime hull warranty! Old town just sent me a new ap 120 after two years because a crack developed on my deck. Even had my motor replaced because I abused it a lot. All for free and so quick, customer support is amazing

    Great walk thru Chad and whatever color they would add would be a great addition to the line up.
    And YES REAL CAMO is a MUST, I got the Amber one cuz I wasn't attracted by the Phobic and I will miss the camo color of my Hobie outback....

    Chad thank you for making this video. I’ve been on the fence about what kayak to get for a while. Being new to kayaks I need something that I can just set in the water and go. And sense this boat is already comes with a motor and your review has sealed the deal for me. Again thank you for this video.

    Camo is definitely an s-tier color 🤣.. I've got the paddle 120 as my first big boy kayak and I love it! Was considering pulling the trigger on the autopilot early 2024 and this just solidifies the desire! Great video, thank you for making it!

    Hey Chad, great video. I really like what Old Town has done for the kayak industry in motorized kayaks. I almost bought one a while ago, but since I already have a Vibe Shearwater 125 that quite frankly have a ton of money in, I opted to put a Motor Guide Xi3 on the bow. An Auto pilot 136 will probably be my nest purchase. You can't have too many kayaks! My biggest concern with putting a bow mounted trolling motor on my kayak was safety. I did find a way to put a kill switch on it and feel more comfortable and safer with it. While safety should be every kayaker's concern and priority, camo probably ranks pretty high on the list. Come on Old Town, get with the Sportsman Program!

    Must use the Wilderness Cart. The Malone wore out in 1 year. Several people have pointed that out. Wilderness all day long. Thanks Chad Appreciate your review. I"m into my 3rd year with this kayak and use die electric grease on my connectors. I also clear the plugs of debris every 2 or 3 trips. I'm careful and still have removed a ton of sand from the connections. I use it 100% saltwater bays.. Only slight amt of rust on motor mount and rudder plate. I do not rinse the boat every time,,,, also aboutt every 3rd or 4th trip.

    Chad, I love this video. I wish I could have afforded it; however I did buy the Old Town sportsman 106 and I love it. With the money I saved I bought a bending branches 250 cm paddle which I also love. I know the boat is just a tool but I've caught my largest and most fish since I got the boat. I think it's a combination of the leg room and stability. Thanks for what you do and the advice you gave me. You Rock!!!

    The 136 is on my short list and truthfully the lack of color is a major sticking point for me. I'd even like to be able to order custom colors at an additional price. The second sticking point is the #45 motor, would love to see a #55 or even 24v #70 thrust.

    It was between this and the Nucanoe Unlimited. I chose the Unlimited with xi3 for a few reasons:
    1) Unbeatable stability 2) Can throw on a second seat and bring the kid/wife 3) completely open deck and rigability 4) with the xi3 I can swap to any other kayal I choose in future. I will say the biggest con is it is not fast enough with just the bow mount for bigger lakes, but it does come in camo! And please any ideas for the dead man's switch with Xi3 would be awesome

    it is a bit expensive and heavy! Not for the weak guys. For the price, I wish they also include the foot pedal as well. Just in case battery die you still have foot pedal to get yourself back. But to be fair, you can mount a motor on a regular kayak for far less. overall it is a good yak.

    • @ChadHooverFishing
      @ChadHooverFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not really practical to have a motorized kayak that also doubled as a pedal kayak. People say this all the time, but they forget you don’t just drop a pedal drive in. You have to have a rudder system to steer with a pedal drive and either the seat or pedals or both have to slide to accommodate the different leg lengths for the angler. The components to accomplish this and the labor to add it to the kayak make it expensive. That’s why it’s not practical to “add a pedal drive” to a kayak that isn’t designed for it

    I have the hobie outback ….. awesome kayak. However if I had known about the old town auto pilot at the time I’m sure I would have bought that one. I have more money in my outback with power pole and add ons than a good battery and auto pilot. I believe the seat in the old town is a lil higher and a lil more stable than the outback. Maybe one day I’ll switch to the auto pilot.

    For a motorized kayak I think it is king for sure! But I'm not huge fan of motorized kayaks. Trolling motor noise is killing your stealth, sound just like a bass boat in area to the fish. I prefer pedaling or paddling & can do either all day with ease. Just seems little lazy to have trolling motor o a yak in my eyes. But to each thier own, some people might not have strength to pedal/paddle all day!

I want to downsize to keep my foot print smaller at the house but if the kayak is that heavy and would be easier to trailer is that defeating the purpose of what I’m trying to do? Great question about trailering. It does indeed totally defeat the purpose ( from my experience having both a 106MK and a 14’ jon). It is way more exhausting to launch heavy kayak without a trailer than it is to launch my jonboat with a trailer
