From what I heard about Lamar being “locked in” and all that… this season was a failure for the Ravens-both as a team and individually. Remember, John Harbaugh has won a chip already. Odell won a chip already. The Ravens are a 2x SB champion. They’ve been there before. Maybe not Lamar and this particular squad, but the Ravens organization HISTORICALLY has been there and done that. Lamar wanted to be there so he could do what Ray Lewis did, what Terrell Suggs did, what his predecessor did, etc. It was a failure.
Yeah, I think lamars real biggest criticism isn't that he can't throw, because he can. Lamar doesn't adjust at the line the same way Brady, mahomes, Rodgers, manning. Idk if thats confidence or maybe he just doesn't see it.
@@sleepycroc you can say that, but we don't know. Some people are naturally assertive and some aren't. It was a failure for the Ravens, they had done everything in the regular season, got the 1 seed and had a complete collapse in the AFC Championship game. The Ravens only scored 10 points in the entire game, just let that sink in for a moment. Many would argue the game plan was a train wreck and they never ran the ball. Not running the ball was probably their biggest mistake, but Lamar Jackson didn't play well neither. Lamar Jackson tried to play quarterback by throwing the ball. But, when things weren't looking good, either John Harbaugh should have made the executive decision to tell Lamar Jackson to go off script or Lamar himself should have gone with his instincts to pull it down to do his thing on his own accord.

Spoken like people who haven’t been apart of real sports teams. Impact and influence can manifest onto the field even if you don’t play. An all pro 10k rushing yard player being able to school and influence a young RB room. Locker room conversations and experience. The game is bigger than what you see on the field.
@dutchff7908 I have been apart lf sports teams so there's that 🤷🏾♂️. And I know what it is to be a solid contributor to a team. Ocho speaks as if he was the reason or a key contributor which he wasn't. He was there for the ride more than anything . Back end of career at that time. He was basically washed

Coming into every season each team has goals and expectations. The ravens expectations as a team was the superbowl. The same goes for the Bills, chiefs, 49ers etc. How the ravens played during the regular season only confirmed their expectations. For them to fall short of that is a failure, the same goes for the bills, eagles etc. Now next year is a new season and you have the chance again to accomplish your goals or meet expectations.
yea the refs and the nfl rigging it telling the best run team in the league not to run it on arguably one of the worst Def in the league... how are you the best run team in the league and only run the ball 6 times...
The Ravens are now 2-5 in the playoffs during the Lamar Jackson era. Fun Fact:The Cowboys are 2-5 in the playoffs in the Dak era. Why the double standard? Ravens are just the AFC Cowboys. Regular season champs, playoff chumps.
Lamar is not a HOFer. He shouldn't win mvp this year. His numbers are pedestrian. And a guy that is 2-4 in the playoffs is not a hall of famer. Stop saying that he is one.
@freeindeed8416 True. I'm not saying he can never get there. My point is that people are saying if he retired today, he's in. I'm saying that he is not 1000%. QB and Head Coaches are judged off winning in the playoffs. Stafford has better numbers and a ring, and people aren't sure he's in. Lamar could win 10 MVP'S. I don't care. If he ends up 2-14 in the playoffs, he's not a hall of famer.

My issue is they do not go after Lamar like they would others for playing like that. They say there is no shame in losing to Mahomes yet if Purdy loses the SB to him, 3 of these people will be laughing, clowning, and destroying Purdy. That is why it is so frustrating. At least James Jones was all over Hurts for most of the year. He was the only one calling him out for his bad play. Love makes that terrible pass vs Niners, no ridicule. It was a young QB mistake. They still think he outplayed Purdy in that game ffs.
Lamar 6 seasons Has never thrown for 4,000 yds Hes a bad QB. Good RB Love and Stroud first season just slinged it for over 4,200 yds You cant go far in this league with the kinda QB Lamar is. The Ravens paid Lamar like he was the best, they got him a new OC, they got him receivers, they gave him a lights out defense. The return on the money had to be a Super Bowl. When a QB says, make me the highest paid, he is saying “I’m the best” Lamar said it was 2 heavyweights going at it. Truth was only 1 heavyweight was in the ring.
@Wolfpack agree also I do not think Lamar is the MVP look at his numbers. And to be honest the Ravens defense is the main reason they were the 1 seed. Not saying Lamar does not deserve no credit but I most definitely do not think he had MVP numbers. He is not better than Mahomes or Burrow.
Shady your boy Andy Reid lost how many nfc championships in how many years if you want to roll out the niners like that keep the same energy with your coach 🤣

I don’t hate Lamar by any stretch but he was hyped up to potentially be the best qb in the league, then lost twice as much as he has won. People made excuses years prior and then got a team that literally had no weaknesses and still managed lay an egg.
The 1 seed in the NFL is unlike anything else in sports. It stacks the cards in that teams favor unlike any other sport. All home games and one less game to play than everyone else. They were the number 1 seed and won one playoff game. That’s a failure.
Surprisingly Shady & Joy takes I agree with for once. How could you possibly say this is a failure of a season for us we’ve never been to a AFC championship in the Lamar era this was just another step in the journey we’ll be back and better
Trent Williams “DID NOT” play in the NFL in the 2019 season. It was Joe Staley’s final season in the NFL. Trent joined the 49ers in the offseason prior to the 2020 season.
I live in Maryland. I'm a ravens fan. I feel disappointed they didn't win and go to the super bowl. The chiefs, like you said, were at their worst this year so it seemed like it was the best chance to win. Personally, I'd rather the ravens be 5-0 in super bowls by their 40th season, 2036, than 3-2.
I would say it's a failure because of the way they played. 10 points? WHAT? The defense did their job, but the offense sputtered, and they had turnovers and penalties. To have their season end like that was very disappointing.
they didn't lose to Patrick Mahomes, they held that team to 17 points. They lost to Steve Spagnuolo. Now they have to figure it out next year without the DC, the DB coach, with everybody a year older.
This is why I wish we didn’t get the first seed. Everyone saying oh yeah he only won one game again like sorry we didn’t get to beat up on a wildcard team in the first round 😂
Ravens had a successful season. Lamar is MVP and they played lights out for most of the season. They made the play-offs. Top defense, top offence. They'll learn from this experience. The media knocking Lamar and saying that he choked against Mahomes is nonsense. Most QB's lose to Mahomes in the playoffs and its not a slight on their record. His just a generational talent and probably the best to ever do it. He just finds ways to win and knows how. That's a testament to his greatness.
lol man nothing from that game showed you that Lamar can beat Mahomes. It’s not just the fact that they lost, it’s how they lost. Lamar is a great player, but I don’t think he’s a great quarterback. So if the skill set he has wasn’t enough to beat Mahomes with the worst team he’s ever had then idk man.
3:10 Don’t have problem with Lamar losing to Joe Burrow. While the Ravens have had Joey B’s number, Burrow is the only other QB in the AFC that you can confidently say has a whole new level in the playoffs. While they would never admit it, KC fans were relieved that Burrow was hurt and they didn’t have to worry about facing the Bengals in, yet another, AFC Championship game. If it weren’t for a poorly-advised late hit penalty last year, the Chiefs might not have even made it to the SB and it could have been Cincy for their 2nd year in a row!

It’s a failure because the Ravens were the number 1 seed all season they had every thing going for them home field and everything they still choked

Yeah, I think lamars real biggest criticism isn't that he can't throw, because he can. Lamar doesn't adjust at the line the same way Brady, mahomes, Rodgers, manning. Idk if thats confidence or maybe he just doesn't see it.

You d know the Chiefs had a spy out on every play right? It wasn't like Lamar wasn't trying to run. Big K on the right and a DE/DT in the middle. Jones collapsed the pocket and Big k was there when Lamar wanted to roll to his right. left if the ball was on the left hash.

That goal line punch just destroyed their entire world

Coming into every season each team has goals and expectations. The ravens expectations as a team was the superbowl.
We forget they played without jk and mark, two vital pieces of their offense.
Why is everyone all over Lamar Jackson’s sack. He choked! The Offensive Coordinator didn’t help him out and called a terrible game. Baltimore choked!
