Dead wrong narratives about Mahomes not having awful plays in the playoffs - especially in the Super Bowl loss. Also, Brady’s first three super bowls weren’t just about the defense. The second one was a shoot out - go ask Tedy Bruschi, the defense couldn’t stop Carolina in the second half.

    Brock Purdy
Why does he receive all this 'hate' from NFL Analysts and even
    some current players?
    1) He's been called a 'System Quarterback'
    2) He's been called a 'Game Manager'
Because he distributes the football to skilled players at the right
time and at other times - he's criticized.
I would like to suggest to these people that are saying all of these
negative things about Purdy - maybe reconsider.
The purpose of having Coaches, including Offensive Coordinators
and Head Coaches is to come up with a game plan against an
opponent. A Game Plan is to help the team win the game.
In the game plan, the QB is to distribute the ball to the said skilled
players during the game to the benefit of the team he is representing.
When things work out, then WONDERFUL!
In the game plan, there might be an option where the QB would run
the ball at certain times. Normally when Skilled Players A and B
are not in a position to receive the football, and the pass rush is pressing
the QB - he could run the ball and that would be an option. This would
be an ideal time to run the ball. If this is not needed, then that's better.
To be MVP doesn't necessarily mean 'Best Athlete' or 'Most Spectacular
Athlete', but to help the team WIN games. In Basketball a Point Guard
distributes the ball to Skilled Players, especially at the RIGHT TIME.
To be MVP means that the person who is considered to be a candidate for
that award is actually helping his team win; and using the TALENT that
is available. This is COMMON SENSE.
That former NFL QB who played for the Carolina Panthers was indeed an
exceptional athlete, and in one year was able to help bring his team to
the Superbowl, howbeit, in a losing cause.
That same QB was very inconsistent throughout his career. One year, he
was playing at 'Top Level' - only for the next year to play at 'Bottom Level'.
He's the one that used the word, 'Game Manager'.
In Super Bowl XLI, RB Dominic Rhodes gained 113 yards rushing, and his
fellow RB Joseph Addai gained 77 yards rushing, plus he caught 10 passes
for another 66 yards for the Colts in winning the Super Bowl.
The MVP of the game was QB Peyton Manning who distributed the ball to
the skilled players mentioned. One of the RBs mentioned that he was glad
that Manning "...didn't try to do it ALL by HIMSELF..."
If a QB is passing the ball to the skilled player or handing the ball to the
skilled player at the right times, then he is doing well. There may not be
anything 'SPECTACULAR' about it, but the team wins the game.
Brock Purdy doesn't have the AMAZING ATHLETIC SKILLS as some
other QBs, but he's able to move around in the pocket, when necessary,
    and is actually quite successful.
An MVP CANDIDATE doesn't have to try and FORCE something to happen
to make him an MVP CANDIDATE, but the MVP CANDIDATE is to
help his team win - and especially by using the SKILLED PLAYERS doing
    what they do best.
    Doesn't that make sense?

I hate this debate, but I love watching it. Half of Brady’s career was in a different era. I hate comparing different eras in a game that changes so much. The NBA has had maybe two true paradigm shifts. The NFL has had a bunch.
Mahomes will never get crushed the way guys could hit the QB back in the 2000s.
You can be a really different player when you are confident that you won’t get your ribs broken if you don’t throw it fast enough, because guys, for better or worse, can’t demolish the QB.
The Brady-rule, ironically, started the trend of protecting QBs more and more.
You can get more yards and completions because DBs and LBs can’t come wreck the WRs the way they once did.
Enjoy them both, because there may never be another player like Mahomes, and we may never get another guy who won like Brady did.

I disagree, I’m a niner fan and I’m black, huge Purdy supporter, I think both Keyshawn and Jones gave him props, especially Jones. I always knew Purdy wasn’t a system game watching every single niner game for the last 20 years, they just seein it now. Ik Purdys not a system qb like Jimmy G, but he also hasn’t been in the league long enough to be above other qbs, I disagree with Hurts being there too tho, he has even more talent offensively and doesn’t put up numbers. Trevor Lawrence either cause dude hasn’t done anything even tho I realize he has less talent on his team, he hasn’t shown he’s better or worst than Purdy so I kinda put ‘em in the same league. I think Purdys a great qb, but I think there’s only 4 elite guys in the nfl. Only Mahomes who’s in a league of his own, Burrow who’s probably the best passing qb in the nfl rn, and Lamar who’s a mid passing qb, but who’s rushing/scrambling is elite enough that it would translate well to any team and Josh Allen who’s great at rushing, strong accurate arm, but is a poor decision maker a lot of times, so he’s more hit or miss

The thing about Detroit and the Field Goals... those FG attempts were not guaranteed 3 points. If they kicked and missed... the conversation would now be, "They've proven to go for it on 4th down, but why change now?" Anyone can say those things on the 'Monday after'.
I remember in the 90s in the Regular Season. I don't remember the teams that were playing, but Chris Collinsworth was the Analyst and there was a '4th and short yardage' situation. The team attempted to go for it on 4th down but fell short. Collinsworth vehemently said, "You kick the Field Goal and take the three!" I believe it was the following Sunday with two different teams playing, and almost the same situation again. The team decided the field goal attempt... and missed. Collinsworth vehemently said, "All they had was "One" or "Two" Yard(s)... if you can't run for a yard for a 1st down!..." So, that is an example of 'Monday Morning Quarterbacking'... after the fact.
The Detroit coach believed in his team. He believed that they could do it. They did not do it. Again, the field goal attempts were in the 40+ category - and no guarantee of making the field goals... He said he does not regret going for it. With that said, I personally believe he should have gone for the touchdown at the end of the first half instead of trying the field goal. In both cases, it was a "3-Score" situation - but they would have had to succeed in making the touchdown. Enough said.

Have a look at Fran Tarkenton highlights. Tarkenton was doing Mahomes like things before Mahomes was a thought. Tarkenton finished his career with all the passing records. Tarkenton lost al his Super Bowls. That's why he isn't remembered. Bt no matter what anyone says, it takes a team to win the Super Bowl, not just a QB.
Also, Tarkenton played in an era when the QB could be blown up. Mahomes abuses they modern rules that the QB can't be touched. I thin even in Brady's early career the QB wasn't wearing a dress like they do today.
I personally get irritated at how Mahone swill go right up to the last second before he goes down to draw a flag. I think the NFL needs to change the rule. If the QB runs he is fair game. If the QB wants to "give himself up" he has to do it early, not the very last second so the defender can't stop himself.
Let's see how good Mahomes is after he gets clobbered the way Staubach when he ran and there is no penalty flag. Change the rule and you'll see Mahomes not be as dominant.

@@princecheck11 who mentioned Mahomes? It has nothing to do with Mahomes. Mahomes is the undisputed best player, no one comes close. I'm saying that Keyshawn can't be objective most of the time because he always protects the brothers. His Jokic takes on KJM were terribly bad and he ended up with the pie in the face after seeing him sweep the Lakers and then win the chip. His bball takes are horrible tbf, you just need to check the comments of undisputed/KJM videos. Now Brock Purdy, he can't give him credit. He didn't have the same energy criticizing Lamar Jackson after another PO failure like he criticizes or doubts Purdy. And Lamar scrutiny and standards should be higher because hes supposedly the best player and soon MVP. Sherman criticizes fairly and without double standards. He doesn't care if it's black or white. He keeps it real according to football production and very rarely he's wrong.

As a Niners fan, we are NOT saying Brock is elite. We are NOT putting him in any kind of GOAT debate. Let him win a few SBs, get a few more years in the league, then the conversations might be worth entertaining. James was right, Jimmy G was a game manager. Defense carried the team to the SB that year. When the team got behind, Jimmy G couldn't make the plays that Brock can. And the reason we have a problem with the term "game manager' as it relates to Brock Purdy is because we know why people are labeling him as that. He does just enough to win the game. No, Brock does that and MORE. He's the game changer that SF has been needing for a LONG time. Brock has earned the respect by BEATING some of those guys you were naming as top 10 in the league: Stafford, Dak, Jalen, Goff. Quit moving the goal posts on Brock Purdy when he's done what you've said he couldn't do.
