Not only the series but your videos commentary on each episode. You both started it for me and it’s profoundly changing my like and relationship with my Lord! Thank you! I don't understand why some people care about The Chosen are any kind of modern Christian at all to express their thoughts since
they have an obvious hatred or disdain for it. They need to just stick to their King James audio bible and reading the commentary notes in their John macarthur study bible.

@@susalkasarahi I would say that depends on how you look at it! Also, I think this topic in particular needs a much wider comment than a TikTok video (and therefore I found Sam's comment brilliant!). There are always reasons art develops in the way it does. And there are def. reasons why christian art - whatever this may include - had a hard time to develop throughout these past decades in a way we may find fruitful. On the other hand: look into the christian music industry, book industry - huge successes!

What I don't get is the critics who accuse the production crew of creating a form of idolatry in the show The Chosen. They say that the writers are adding to the Scriptures. Could it be, they don't understand the performing arts? Doesn't the Creator give all of us gifts and talents that we are expected to use them to glorify God? What is it that the critics don't get?
I have to conclude that the critics are pharisaical. They're not God. They can't read the motives in people's hearts. If they want to be legalistic, that's on them. Just saying. 🤷‍♀️

I totally agree with Aurelia Cardiff. The Chosen grabbed me from the first episode. However, being raised Catholic, it took my grandson and granddaughter attending private, Christian schools, where they were studying the Bible daily and able to discuss what they learned, that led to my watching the two of you. The fact that you went beyond what was shown in an episode, to convey the importance of each scene and the dialog, renewed my love for not only the Holy Trinity, but for the Bible (which as a Catholic, I was never allowed to read, especially the Old Testament) and the heritage of the Jewish people. Actually, there's no "conversion" necessary! Sam and Dr. Tom are both Gentile leaders in a local Messianic congregation. Being part of a Messianic congregation doesn't mean you have to be Jewish. You could look to see if there is a Messianic congregation in your area that you could visit. Ultimately, we would highly recommend connecting with a local church congregation that seeks GOD's heart for His family. There are so many wonderful congregations out there! We pray that GOD shows you the right place to worship and serve. Blessings and Shalom - The Grafted Team

Yeah! I will keep writing this one. Adam was cut off from God (from his own heart {love}). Men, like in the interview with Mr Genius there commenting on that about which he knew NOTHING, have nothing to do with the heart .... guess where that leaves him when God says I look at the heart of men! Eve was not cut off from her heart ("He {Adam} will {become a ruler, not a lover} over you"). The Chosen's mission is to address the imbalance in MOST of our churches; "you shall worship ME in truth (mind, fleeing sin) and Spirit (heart, love); the generational curse from Adam is that men, to get things done, will suppress the heart because, it just gets in the way. Out of balance.

The last guy who explained why he didn't want to watch the chosen... you guys pretty much threw his reasons out the window. In all fairness having someone portray Jesus can create a form of worship with some people. Just like with the current image of Jesus, which is an image of cesare borgia. People worship that image, pray to that image, build statues of that image and don't acknowledge that Cesare is NOT Jesus. And most of the great art that came from some Christians has created forms of idol worship, from crosses, to paintings and statues. So to call it asinine is a blatant disregard of biblical scripture that says to not create graven images just because you don't agree with his opinion.

    • @virginialowry4443

More than one has stated they would not watch because of "Biblical error." My question is, 'How do YOU know something isn't Biblical? Do you know every conversation Jesus had with every person he encountered? I'm asking, not slamming. Is it because they aren't speaking in British King James? Has anyone looked at the stars at night or a sunrise or sunset? Talk about art!! Have you listened to the birds singing, the insects buzzing, or the countless different colors and sizes of sealife? If, as it is written, we (mankind) are made in God's image, and He has created the heavens and the earth, why would He not also gift His artistic ability to us? What a sad and dull world people live in by attempting to put God in a box and try to tell Him how to behave.

We are not to make images to bow down and worship. If someone is bowing before a picture of Cesare Borgia or Robert Powell or Jonathan Roumie that's on them not the artist. Art and drama are how we tell stories and communicate ideas. Christian art is just one more way to tell the story of the gospel, not a graven image to worship.

  • @nethrelm

Yeah, that last one is just unfortunately ignorant of art history. The history of art is full of Christian works. Bach as you said, but before that virtually all Renaissance art is Christian and plenty more even earlier. I get that some modern Christian art (e.g. movies and music) can be kind of bad, but not all of it is, and historically almost all of the most beautiful works of art are Christian.

Personally, I hope that the people who aren’t currently Christians on set will come to faith through the characters they play and the scenes that they film. The pride flag on the cameraman’s rig was personal property, and it would have been discrimination if Dallas had asked him to remove it. The response from some members of the cast online wasn’t great, but I can see how they would respond emotionally to some of the hate that was being thrown at their friend, especially if they aren’t Christians themselves and don’t have a problem with Pride Month. I know it’s hard to separate the person from the character they play sometimes, but as long as Dallas keeps the high standard of portraying Jesus and the disciples in a Biblically sound way, I will keep watching. Boycotting a show that has done this much good because not all the cast and crew share Christian conservative beliefs (which was common knowledge already) would only serve to take the show away from people who would benefit from seeing it, imo.

I don't understand why some people, especially believers of Christ chastise the chosen series?, I mean if you actually see in biblical perspective the chosen won't always be on point on the scriptures, but it doesn't change the narrative that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and savior of His people.
I think the chosen series is the story of the man named Jesus Christ who claims to be the Son of Man that will save Humanity from sins. The chosen series also is the story of Jesus Christ apostles, and their struggles of finding and believing that He is the Messiah, their own story reflects the struggle of each Christ believer in this world, and how they witnessed the Lord Jesus Christ miracles, and resurrection to prove that He is God one with the Father and the Holy Ghost.
We serve a living God. Our enemy the devil is working to destroy us, He attacks us through social media, material possession, sexual immorality, and vanity of this world, false prophets, producing different religions and demonic deities to distract us from the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Don't you see that our Lord Jesus Christ is also working to reach many people from different countries, and His using the media to convince many people to believe in Him, because many do not know Him personally. The chosen series provides insights of God's intention to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ. I mean, how many atheists do not know or deny Jesus?, How many back sliding Christians do not understand Jesus?, How many people that do not know Jesus because they are serving false gods? How many Christian believers do read the bible, and understand its context in order for them to further their relationship with God? Well based on statistics 11% read the bible out of 2 billion Christian believers in this world, and some of them do not read the entirety of it.
So God inspired us to create movies, preach about the bible, and bless us with testimonies with dreams and visions in the afterlife, some even died and came back to testify that Hell is real and they saw the Lord Jesus Christ.
God is coming back for His people, and many of us in this generation struggle in faith, because satan used this worldly pleasure to distract us. And if you think the chosen is not biblically accurate, then use it to your advantage to reach other non believers of Christ. The young generation are into social media then use chosen as your material. You can't always be a roaring Lion to the world, and say Hey God said this in the bible, because not everyone will listen. After everything you do, and they still won't repent then their life is in God's judgement not yours.
