Yes that is one of the gnarliest features that I've done but I don't think I'm gonna do it anymore, I don't think I can unsee what happened. I am so grateful God protected Calvin 🙏🙏🙏
This really reinforces the need to go riding in a group. Imagine if Calvin did this by himself. I'm glad to hear he's okay and look forward to seeing him in future videos.
Hi. Absolutely right. I fell riding a bike alone. Lucky for me, it was in front of a restaurant. I broke my arm. Thank God they smiled at me. Today I have my arm immobilized and I will have to have surgery. But it's all right.
Thought and prayers man. Glad you and Calvin are both OK. Painful to watch but I'm glad you posted (and Calvin agreed). It's important to get some perspective on these types of incidents.
Yeah Calvin isn't ready to watch it but he wanted me to post it because it's important for everyone to see how dangerous our sport is and how important it is to wear legit protection gear 🙏
Whoa!!!! So glad he was okay after such a gnarly crash. Thank you Calvin and Tommy for posting. It can happen so fast!! Glad you guys were all together to help him
I thought 20 Foot Skull Drop was the name of the trail and OBT was going to be your video into... Calvin everyone here wishing you a speedy recovery. I'm glad you guys got him down and to the hospital 💪🏾💯
The crew definitely handled this situation and made the right call to get him to the nearest hospital. I’m glad Calvin is recovering well, that could’ve been a lot worse. I can’t wait to see his redemption video when the time is right.
Thanks brotha I appreciate it. There were a few negative comments on my IG post from some people who didn't understand the situation. I think we made the right call and ai thank God that Calvin is OK 🙏🙏🙏
Sadly, people will always have something negative to say. Best we can do is tune them out and focus more on the positive. You guys did the best you can in that situation and made all the right call. Calvin was lucky to have you guys there because crash can happen anytime and anywhere.
You guys really handled this situation perfect, he seemed just fine but you played it safe and thankfully it worked out - thanks for posting it helps people realize how important a head injury can be - again I’m glad he is ok
Thanks brotha 🙏🙏🙏 I really appreciate it. There were some negative comments on my IG post saying we should of called 911 ...but ofcourse they didn't know the full situation only saw the crash on the post
Yo that was gnarly af and I’m glad he’s doing better but damn Tommy you had me going with your crash 😂 I did not expect that! Hope you’re good too though 👊🏼
This is super hard to watch. We all wad it up from time to time, but when you know the people and its that heavy, it's just surreal. So stoked he is doing so well . CalDog turned into a human lawn dart 😵💫😵💫Thanks for sharing ..
Man, this hurts the heart to watch even more at the end when Calvin had no memory of the ride…tears flowing…🙏🙏🙏 so glad I was not there that day for the ride because I can’t imagine being there and witnessing this. Thanks to all the boys for taking care of @caldog73 and making the right call to get him to the hospital.🙏🙏🙏
Yes dude it was so scary to see it but what got me worried was when we got to the bottom and he didn't know what car he drove and what day of the week it was. When Kyle told me they transferred Calvin to Trauma that really F*ed me up. We are so blessed God answered our prayers and Calvin is OK 🙏🙏🙏 big wake up call for me
Holy crap man, what a day you guys had. Glad you're all OK. Your crash was freaking huge as well, though definitely overshadowed by Calvin's banger. Great video dude.
Wow, miracle he's ok 🙌. Glad you guys brought him to the hospital. There can be a lucid interval after head trauma where people appear fine and then deteriorate fast in the case of epidural hematoma or severe brain swelling.
I think you're right....God intervened. That was an incredible spill and the fact he was able to walk out with literally no debilitating injuries is mind blowing. He also has a good support group that got him down safely.
Great to see Calvin walk away, thank god that he's with a solid group of guys watching out. I've seen this drop in numerous videos, it's gnarly and major respect to Calvin and anyone doing this drop, it's no joke
Thanks brotha 🙏🙏🙏 we did the best we could but all glory goes to God. Yeah this is a gnarly feature and I don't think I'm gonna do it anymore. This crash really traumatized me
Damn Tommy, that was hard to watch. I'm glad He is going to be OK. I also know it can be tuff to see that sort of crash in-person . Praying for a speedy recovery for him and that you guys are able to get over witnessing the crash. I went OTB on a drop last year and I do believe God intervenes. My neck still bothers me at times.
Yeah seeing the crash in person was really hard but I think what hit me the hardest was when I found out they were transferring Calvin to Trauma Center because they thought he may have brain bleed. That really messed me up and had me questioning everything. I think God Calvin is OK but it was a huge wake up call and learning experience for me. 🙏🙏🙏
Daaamn, glad to hear that everything turned out ok. I remember riding this trail in the late 90's on what would be considered light xc bikes today. Gotta say though I have no memory of this particular feature. Either I did a Calivn or maybe it wasn't part of the trail back then... That 2nd crash was icing on the cake though, lmfao!
@@TommyHuynh you guys need to watch out for each other, had Calvin ever did that big of a move before? mtb is about prgression. Build up skill set to do more advanced moves. im glad he is ok...
Oh man! So glad to hear that he is okay after that gnarly crash! Definitely felt horrible watching this but thankful that he's okay. Prayers will continue for him and hoping that everything continues well.
Oh my heart hurts so much to see Calvin like that. I am just thankful and happy that he is ok and he is lucky to have u and the crew with him. Also ur crash was gnarly too !! I can see it from ur shadow! Heal up both of u !! ❤
Concussion is the least visible but can be the most dangerous injury... great you guys were all able to look after each other. Hope Calvin makes a full recovery soon
Dude, glad to see your friend (Calvin) is up and walking around that crash looked like a mtb ender for sure. Still trying to figure what happen to you but hey might be one of life’s mysteries. Awesome video bro glad everyone is going home/hospital all on there own 2 feet. Funniest. Part of the video is aaa let me call your wife, yea that’s going to end well lol
You really took care of Calvin, lucky to have guys like this around! I always thought about taking chances, since I primarily ride alone, so I ride at 80% instead of 105 :D.
God is good brother and there is power in prayer. Part of MTB is pushing our limits but this is def a harsh reminder of how dangerous this sport is. Thank you for sharing the vid and glad Calvin is okay and will make a full recovery. Ride safe 🤙
Thanks brotha 🙏 yes 💯 there is power in prayer. This was such a learning experience for me and I just hope it can help others. Our sport is dangerous and we really need to respect that.
I chickened out on sending a big feature this weekend, and now I see this video. He's very lucky for that could have been so much worse. One of my friends is getting over 5 broken ribs and a lacerated spleen from a crash and my other riding buddy crashed and lacerated his adrenal gland. We have to pay dues for the radness sometimes. I'm really grateful that I had the instinct to not send that feature this weekend without 100% confidence and potentially ruining my life for the next few months with a business to run. I'll check that one off when I'm ready. Hope your buddy Calvin heals fast Tommy. 🙏🏼
Yo Tommy .. sorry for the late comment for this video ..I too just had the exact same crash at a recent DH race but didn't fare as well. I got a concussion, 10 broken ribs 4 of them broken twice ,a fractured sternum ,punctured and collapsed lung, dislocated shoulder and a seperated AC joint.. mtbing is a dangerous sport and accidents happen . Glad to hear you friend is ok .. nothing worse than seeing a friend go down . Watching his POV was really sickening for me to see ..😵💫 Keep up the great work love your channel Bro!!!
That looks like a very very difficult drop. If your position is the slightest bit off when you're in that moment of free fall, you are in trouble! Glad Calvin and everybody is OK. Scary stuff and yes, it's valuable footage to help us all evaluate our own mountain biking abilities...
Last January I had a buddy go full OTB on a steep set of stairs - he flew off his bike and cracked his helmet and landed on his back. I was most concerned about a concussion because of his helmet but he seemed fine and didn't have any memory loss or wooziness after laying down for 5-10 minutes. After he got a ride home he went to the ER just to double check and found he had broken his back in two places. Lesson of the day, no matter how bad the crash seems or how your buddy seems its better to get him to a hospital and be safe rather than sorry
Damn that's a serious hit. Concussions are no joke. I'm a beginner mtb'er and a nurse myself and my first time on a MTB at a jump park I gave myself a concussion. Since getting into riding I've given myself my first concussion, broken bones and stitches. I love riding but yeh, easy to come unstuck. It's good to hear your mate is ok.

Yeah that was when things got real for me. He is 💯 better now. He has full memory of the first 3 trails but doesn't remember the last trail and thank God he doesn't remember the crash

Yeah I got some negative comments on the IG post from people who made judgement from the 10 sec crash footage without understanding the whole situation
A a person that rides solo to often it is awesome to see a crew of riders take care of their own. I might have called for a copter with the likes of the trail going down.
Damn guys that was gnarly. I’ve had plenty of crashes but nothing like that. He’s lucky to be overall in good condition after that, always good to have good peeps lookin out!! Epic trails, and glad he’s ok! Can’t wait to see him get that redemption on it one day 🤙🤙
I did a similar thing, nose cased the mushroom drop in north tahoe... except i somehow did an entire front flip and landed on my back and slid down. one of my shoes flew off 30 feet down the trail, but was otherwise just fine. my boxxers bent backwards, but was able to ride down and out of the trail, lol. rough landing here.
Tommy, I'm so happy that Calvin tested ok at the hospital but keep a close eye on him for the next 7-10 days. I had a very hard motorcycle crash that resulted in a Grand Mal Seizure a week later. The Lord is good and while no crash is ever welcomed, the testimony and witnessing of God's Grace in the Comments is truly a blessing.
This reminded me of Javi's nasty crash This, by far, is the nastiest crash I have ever seen from your videos. It was very hard to watch. Calvin, get well dude!
Definitely someone up there was watching! I don’t know why, but I kinda knew you were gonna crash after you said “It’s harder to walk.” Doesn’t look like you had your feet on the pedals.
Yes I truly believe God protected Calvin 🙏🙏🙏 I didn't get both my feet on the pedals I was focused on getting Calvin down and wasn't thinking clearly. I totally forgot about the crash until later that night when I finally showered and felt all the pain 🤣
I hope he is ok. That was a really hard crash. I have dialed back my riding over the years. As bikes get better jumps just get bigger and bad things can happen in an instant. Be safe guys.
Wow... that was cray cray! Glad he is okay!!! Sorry Tommy, I laughed so hard when you crashed after you said walking it down is harder than riding... hahahahahaaaa....!!!! Glad everyone is okay!

good video footage, up until his crash,...man that hurts,...glad he is ok...someone is looking out for him...
Crazy crash... just glad your friend is ok.
So glad he’s ok !
🙏🙏🙏
Glad to hear his xrays and tests came back negative👍🏼🙏. How’s the ribs Tommy? Get well quick.🤙🏼
Thanks brotha 👊 the ribs are super sore but I'm sure they're not broken 🙏
Damn, healing vibes sent.
🙏🙏🙏
Lol I’m sorry but I died when you said it’s easier to ride down that part than walk, and you proceeded to crash. Crazy video
🤣😂 don't apologize, I admit that was comedy. Calvin's crash was no laughing matter but mine was 😂
@@TommyHuynh oh yea absolutely. Hopefully he’s doing better. Your crash was a nice light moment compared to what happened before
So glad Calvin is ok! Had a guardian angel that day for sure 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes he did. I had a hard time sleeping for a couple days after that. I kept replaying the crash. I can't imagine what you saw from down there 😬
wow what a nasty crash...Hope your buddy is OK!
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏 he is good
Scary crash! Sick trail boyz! 🤙
Praying for your friend Calvin🙏🏼. We mountain bikers should pray for each other before & after always. God bless us all!
Damn.. crazy, hope he heals up 100%
This reminded me of Javi's nasty crash
This, by far, is the nastiest crash I have ever seen from your videos. It was very hard to watch.
Calvin, get well dude!
Yes I still don't seeing the crash, I also put my phone on mute when I'm responding to comments on my IG post so I don't have to hear the crash
I'm so glad he is okay.
🙏🙏🙏
Yes that's something we all have to consider. It was a wake up call for me.
Thank God he’s ok!! Such a nice guy
Crazy crash! But, way to take care of your homie. Hope he is okay!
Thanks brotha 🙏🙏🙏 yeah he's doing good. Had follow up with doctor yesterday and everything is fine 💪
Glad Calvin is alright. It got really scary seeing him rapidly deteriorating on the way down.
You know it’s California when you are trying to figure out insurance before getting to the hospital 😂😂
Woah‼️
Any updates on Calvin..3weeks later🤔
DAMN SON, SO LUCKY TO WALK OUT OF THAT ONE
💯🙏
I need the list of the protective gear he was wearing so I can go out and buy it all. Honestly, how do you walk away from that?
I know he has the POC DH helmet and body armor but his biggest protection was God 💯
That was a scary one. I’ve ridden by myself a couple times and I don’t feel comfortable doing it.
Yes never do gnarly features when riding alone
Wow! Thank God. Be safe boys
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Wow... that was cray cray! Glad he is okay!!! Sorry Tommy, I laughed so hard when you crashed after you said walking it down is harder than riding... hahahahahaaaa....!!!! Glad everyone is okay!
🤣 yeah although my crash was pretty fun I jacked my ribs and left pec but I'm good. I'm just happy Calvin is OK from his crash 🙏🙏🙏
