Thank you so much for this tutorial. I asked someone to make this for me after seeing a picture on Etsy and they wanted $250! Found your tutorial and I made it for $40. Your instructions were so good. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! 3 months ago, I didn’t even know what a miter saw was. With this video, I was able to surprise my wife with a shelf for Christmas. Now, I’m planning future projects 👍
Thank you. I'm recently retired and looking for 1) a shoe rack for our shoes but the cost 😳 2) love doing things myself to save money and 3) maybe can make some money selling these. Good video and I so much appreciate you! I only wish the materials were listed. I can go back and pay closer attention before I walk into Lowe's 😂
Thanks for this video! Super helpful and very clear. My shelf looks amazing and definitely got a ton of compliments..I also saved money and is now eager for more DIY projects!
Thanks Wesley I just finished making my rack. Your Instructions are great! I made mine two boards wider for 3 pairs of shoes. Has anyone used some sort of hanger on the back to mount it on the wall?
Awesome video. Just finished construction of my peloton shelf shoe rack. I was wondering where you placed the two screws on the board for the stud insertion?
Thank you so much Wes. Someone tried to tell me they would make one for $250. I knew it could be a simple DIY I could do myself but needed a good video lol. Thanks! I think it would be really helpful to list the measurements of each board in the description. I don't have a saw so I'll have to go to lowes or Home Depot for the cuts.
That’s what I did so that it sits flush. Just figure out where you want it, find at least 1 stud, and drill it straight to the wall. (Pre-drill the holes)
Those boards will sit flush against the wall once you screw them in.. But the existing shelves should be enough to keep them snug. I didn’t do anything extra to mine
Hiya. Love the cold beverage. I have all ready but the wood. U said 1 x 6 by 8 foot right x 3? In the uk the 1x6 looks a totally different shape. Could you post me an example link pls ? So I can check. Liked and subscribed thanks :)
Thanks Wesley for doing this video, pretty awesome! Question, did you pilot drill both top and bottom boards in all spots? Or just the top? Seemed like one spot only piloted the top board, but another spot looked like you piloted through both top and bottom boards. Just curious so not to split a board.
I just used 2 drywall screws. You only need to hit 1 wall-stud with one of the screws. The other screw was mainly for balance. I used a stud-finder, and then pre-drilled 2 holes directly in the back of the rack. I would have tried to hit 2 wall studs but the spacing didn't allow for it where I wanted to mount it..
@@WesleyAllenNC Like drilled holes that then can be set onto screws in the wall? Or screwed the shelf directly to the wall through the wood? Thanks, sorry I'm a visual person haha

@@WesleyAllenNC Looking forward to them!
Made this for my dad for Christmas and added the peloton logo in the middle between the hooks. He loved it. Now my sister wants one too. Thank you!

What are the different sized screws that you used? Were they all 2 inches? Some looked longer. Thank You!
Love this idea!! What type of wood did you use?
We finished building one for our office but wanted to know how do you mount the shelf? Do we screw the shelf onto the wall?

Great video! How many coats of stain?
Thank you!
Thanks! But how do the boards stay together? I followed instructions but the boards (side by side) are kinda flimsy.

@@WesleyAllenNC OK. I made it myself because I got sick of waiting on the husband. Now waiting on him to hang it.
Wes, do you have a quick list of the items you used for the build??

Wesley Allen Thankyou that helped a lot.
Do the bottoms of the boards stay put/stay flush with each other? Do you recommend using wood glue at all for them?
What screws did you use to mount to the drywall?
Just built this- came out great. Can you tell me how you mounted it to the wall?
@@WesleyAllenNC great- thanks!

What stain did you use???!
Says Minwax Red Mahogany on the can 👀
Great DIY! Thanks. What hardware did you use to hang on the wall?
@@WesleyAllenNC thanks! Did you do it at the top where they would be less visible (above the shelf line)?
Used this video as a guide for my own shelf!!! Thanks so much!!!
