Holy crap, I haven't watched these cutscenes in years. TMB was my #1 favourite game as a kid. Having come back and re-watched these as an adult, I cannot believe how good they are. I am completely blown away by this game, Dave Jaffe is a storytelling genius.
An HD Remake that hopefully isn't censored in Europe... (The EU version of this game basically doesn't have a story, no cutscenes and even some levels' dynamics are different to censor it more than it already is)

I find Axel's story to be particularly painful, specifically what he does to himself for failing to protect his wife. His vehicle itself is used to inflict unimaginable pain on himself. He rigged it so that his feet gets dragged along the ground as the vehicle moves.
This is so dark and so gritty. I still remember the day it came out. I was 10 at the time. It was something that burned into my head. Didn’t scare me or anything. It just seemed like art
I'm sympathetic to Agent Stone, being as his plight is genuine and his motivations righteous. Philosophically I sympathize with Mary, because I know what it's like to be alone for a long time. But all things being equal I sympathize with Raven the most, being as we have the most similar mentality, and I can totally see her views.
I mean No face did kill six people Searching for the doctor in the hospital , but The doctor removed his eyes So I assume he thought that he was Killing the doctor only to be told that he actually killed six Innocent People instead .
Calyspo only done so because he planned to have the boy take over for him after he was gone. He could have easily revived his father good and proper if he wanted, he had the power to do so. If he done so he would have lost his soon to be apprentice and so he destroyed the controller instead. Calypso never grants happy endings for those with good wishes. He only grants wishes to those with dark desires, and has good wishes backfire on the person who made it in some way. Its why those such as Stone's wish ended like it did.
pug pugsly That’s actually wrong. Hell it appears that most of the assets from Twisted Metal: Harbor City are used in head-on. Since Twister, Spectre, Hammerhead, and Crimson Fury’s models are in the dev build for Harbor City.
You know what I keep forgetting? That each character had to kill every other competing character in order to the reach the end/get their wish. Only Yellowjacket calls back to this fact since Charlie's son really killed Needles in the tournament. Axel may be another case but Needles didn't die. (Unless Calypso brought him back just so Axel can get his revenge proper.)
A few of the characters (Like Junkyard Dog) mention that getting revenge was one of their first times killing someone . I guess they consider this to be different because this is a contest, or because they're all driving around in cars, it doesn't have the intimate feeling as when they do it to someone they actually want to get revenge on. As a kid, the "driver" of Yellow Jacket doesn't seem to make that distinction.

If we are referring to the story as a whole then the outlaw story is fantasy. You know, because time travel. 2) The gi probably didn't kill Mr. Grimm because he was clearly insane. Once he was detained their would be no point. I could see them killing him or possibly detaining him. Both are quite plausible. But it doesn't take much to see how the story could be true. 3) Survival stories from the consumption of humans are common true or fictional.
Once I heard that TMB took place in Kane's mind, it all started to click together and so far (not finished yet) he's in every cut scene as calypso or some other character in the background (like the sniper/cop's target)

Because Needles a lot of the time is a larger and distinctly different looking character than Marcus, so I get confused as to whether Marcus is simply schizophrenic, multiple personality disorder, both, or if they're both real and related. I know you pointed out that Marcus is the actual being and Needles is his split personality AND I know that Sweet Tooth is merely the truck/Calypso's codename for him
Could have Dollface just pressed charges against mr.creel for forcing her to wear a mask and then nailing it shut? I feel this this could have all been avoided by just taking this to court.
Dollface unfortunately is a classic case of victim dependency. She blames herself for anything that goes wrong, and takes all punishment no matter how bad it is. She was probably a little mentally under developed as well, due to the way her voice actor portrays the character.
I was about 8 yrs old , and my 19 yr old neighbor gave me this disk for my ps2 and I remember kind of keeping it like a secret and having to stay up late at night to play it every single bit just effected me like crazy
those are all things tho. A lot of marksmen don't use single-fire sniper rifles but main-battle rifles with a scope attached or a Designated Marksmen Rifle (a main-battle rifle that's weighted & calibrated for steady aim at the expense of autofire stability, but still qualifies as an assault rifle)

You could argue that Crazy 8 was at least kind of good. All he wanted was revenge, but when he said he "tore up six innocent people", he does seem to exhibit some remorse. I forget if any of his scrawlings in the game manual give any clues about him (it's mostly just his experience with new found "telepathy"), but in Twisted Metal: Lost, his bio says he wants to take parts of other people to rebuild his face, so his daughter won't be scared of him anymore.
