What a legendary figure!
I worked in & later ran several inner-city Sydney pubs back in the day and would come across these types of blokes frequently; eloquently spoken, theatrical fruity voices and mannerisms however still down to earth and great raconteurs . They were often sons of working class families who benefited from the post-war boom in affordable education (in particular given to WW2 veteran's and their families) and obtained degrees in the Arts whilst still inhabiting their working class inner-city neighbourhoods (these same neighbourhoods of terraces and semi's now being strictly millionaires row these days). Funny, entertaining blokes who are now of a generation sadly quickly fading away.
