And the Kelpie a demon that lives by loch in the disguise of a stallion if some mounts it’s back their hands will be stuck to the kelpies back there the beast swims to the bottom of the lake and drowns them and eats them. They mostly do this to children

My dad used to have one of these dogs. He was a very big dog even for this breed.
Back then I was having alot of trouble dealing with my parents divorce and a bunch of other things, so I was quite a troubled kid as a result. Everytime I was skipping school agian, I just went to my dads place instead since I knew my dad would be at work and he would often leave this poor dog all alone every day.
Well long story short, ofcourse this dog became more then just a best friend to me. He was my partner in crime, my companion to cry to without feelings of shame or guilt. He was like a guardian to me. I remember nights/mornings waking up on the floor drunk or hungover agian at 16/17 years old only to find my dear friend lying up agianst me keeping his silent vigil. There were some very dark times then, but they would have been so much worse if my dear old boy wouldn't have been there for me.
His death was the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. It's been well over 10 years and I'm still crying all over my phone while typing this out.
I don't have much faith in there being an afterlife, but if I ever get there and I find no one else but you, Bink, then I know I will be just fine. ❤

One of my naighbors had a Bernese Mountain Dog and she was the sweetest thing in the world. She unfortunatly passed away when i was still in grade school, but to this day every Bernese i have ever met has been just as loving as she was. Truly a tresure of a dog breed.
I had two Bernese mountain dogs, they are like huge babies, very gentle and great with children. They love to ride and I don't think they are aware of their size at all.

My berner forced the family cat to love her back like this😂. She would play attack and he would act dead untill he spot his moment and run away from her. Few months in and they turned into love bugs. ❤

They have the sweetest eyes when they're pups, especially when you can see the whites of their eyes. Look at the one on the vet table. With those eyes it genuinely looks like a cartoon with overemphasised cuteness
A Neigbor has 2 of them, they are really gute and gentle and they are Bass Machines when starting to bark 😂

We have a fan for ours when he is in rhe crate and Summers are brutal for them. He has to be cut down for warm weather months
Lol if I'm paying out the ass for a well bred dog, a king size bed, then adding in the air conditioner isn't much more (especially after both ACL surgeries on my girl). But they do run hot, luckily I like my house to be about 15-17 degrees which is just fine by them. Other than that summer is for beaches and rivers!

I had a berner mix when I was a kid. He was the absolute best boy and I loved him to pieces. Miss you ao much Freddy!
When I'm older, I really want to get a Berner! I know they're a lot of work, time, and money, but so are most other pets, and I'm more than willing to do anything when it comes to my pets (I already have a guinea pig and a cat. Surprisingly, wayyy more maintenance goes into my guinea pig than my cat... rodents are very picky when it comes to their care.)
Plus, I'm a very anxious person, and having an animal around has always helped me. For me, the clingier the animal, the better. I'm very clingy to my pets also.
Additionally, I live in a place where it snows all winter, so winter walks won't be a problem! I like the outdoors and I'm not very picky when it comes to weather, so I will happily provide them as much outside time as needed, since they're a super energetic breed.
My friend had his doggo, zeus trained to pull him down the street on his longboard. But when it snowed..that dog came alive and Loved every second of it

I always thought they were super cute and loved their goofy friendly personalities. They are a ball of fuzz and sunshine but I would never get one because of their very short lifespans. They live between 6 to 8 yrs. 😢 A very short time to have with ur canine companion.
So true, I've had 2 and lost my beautiful girl when she was 6 😢. Lost my male to Lymphosarcoma when he was 7. So glad I loved both.
Just lost ours to lymphoma on Thursday. He lived to be a few days shy of his 8th birthday. To say we were only devastated is undermining it. He was our whole family. So cherished & always will be even though he’s gone. Love you Ozzy bear
@@chucky0othe short life span sucks, but I think the silver lining is that those of us who will willingly suffer losing them so quickly, also want them the most. I've only met one Berner in my time that wasn't a complete spoiled baby that's constantly doted upon, and having good people like you who love their kids so much is a wonderful and beautiful thing. It's painful when the time comes, but I'm glad that you got the time you did, I wish it could have been more.

My Bernese mountain dog just died it’s really sad I really miss him😢
I've had a Bernese Mountain Dog for 9 years now, and she's an absolute teddy bear. She's always sleeping somewhere in the house, under the table or beside the couch. It is extremely true they shed SO MUCH
Unfortunately, Bernese Mountain Dogs have an average life span of 5-8 years due to their large size. We've had two with tumors as it's also very common. They are always the sweetest but don't live nearly long enough

We're on our 7th Berner. We lost one at 5 years, but we also were blessed to have one live to 13 years 8 months. Every day is a gift.

My husband was Swiss so we lived there many yrs. ago when 2 of our girls were very young, got them a beautiful Bernese who we all adored. Sadly, some asshole stole him when he was a few yrs. old and broke our hearts. My daughters, adults many years later, still mourn Happy, his name. 😢 🇨🇭 🇺🇸

We were given a tiny puppy who we were told is just a stray dog that urgently needed a home . Now it’s 6 month 18kg doggo who is obviously bern cross, has lots of bern blood. We never owned a large dog and did not plan to have a working breed. She lives outside, we have some space but we worry it’s not a right condition for her. My dad is most sad that she doesn’t have a field to run in. I worry that she is not doing what bread for and not in a company most of the time. She is walked daily but doesn’t like new places and drags my dad back home after 20 mins. I worry that by 1yo she might be too strong and so too dangerous for my dad to walk her, he is 75yo. He struggles already. Im not there and can’t help and don’t know what would be the best to do. Can these dogs be happy not having own large land to guard/run in and not being in any company all the time (people/other dogs/sheep etc)??
Hello😊 First of all, it's good you care about so much stuff. Means you're responsible and caring person. If you have half-Bernese, it may be ok for your doggo not to have field and "a real job". A nice backyard would be lovely. She just needs whatever physical activity. Playing with a puller, fetch a stick or some swimming if possible. Maybe, it's even better that you do not give her unnecessary pressure on her back, her bones will be healthier. But loneliness is really bad just for any dog. If your dad can't be at home most af the day, maybe some dog park in the evening will be ok, or having some visitors. But she loves him, and will wait for him if needed.
So sorry she doesn't like new places. Maybe for some reason she's afraid of something (or someone, you never know about dogs who lived some time in streets).
P.S. Is it possible to get her to a walk in some nearby field (if there are so)?

The “gentle giant” line might seem ironic but this is a dog that definitely has a very strong bite force and instead of harming the cat chooses to just give a gentle chomp. The cat is so unbothered.

I miss my bernese so much. He was also half border collie so he needed constant exercise or he'd get bored and chew up the house. When he was a puppy, he chewed up the drywall. He was the best boy and would always sleep beside my bed to protect me at night. Best breed ❤️
