I got out in 2012. I was rated at 40% in 2013. My big issues were denied. I did not challenge it. Because of pride and an attitude that said other people needed more help. That cost me my wife, my home and my dignity. It wasn't until I was homeless in 2020 did I apply for benefits and got my 100% rating.
I am thrilled for you Brother ! Take your time and do something nice for yourself ! (You deserve it !) I am rated 70% but finally (Feb 1, 2023) being paid at the 100% rate for Individual Unemployability after fighting with the VA for 55 years.
The one objection I have is that having the VA recognize a particular disability makes a difference in the overall scheme of VA recognizing disabilities. AND more importantly, THAT is how and why the VA is what it is, it banks on veterans being one and done get out of the way, go to you hole and die. Instead, veterans have to stay involved and hold the VA, and policy makers, to account. Big shot law firms will still have plenty of work from years of damage the VA has done.
Combat Craig you are AMAZING . Thanks to you I am 100 P& T. I was so down with misplaced records, incomplete C& P examination notes by Doctor's which resulted in denied claims and more.... It stressed me out and added to my already difficult daily life... Higher Level Review and Secondary Claims helped me get to 100 P& T along with your video's telling us Never to give up. Now I share your Videos with tons of other Vet's. You are so Raw and I Love it . I can relate to you better than the V.A itself! Thank you for helping me and so many Vet's get to 100 P& T CC 💪👏👏👏
I was at 70 % for years. Thanks to Combat Craig and Hill & Potten I'm now at 💯 percent P & T. From the time I filed for the increase to the time it was awarded was only 4 months.
Really appreciate the work you both do. God bless. This is how I thought the military should have been looking out for us. But you guys are teaching us to look after ourselves and our families. Thanks you!
I'm currently at 90% myself with records similar to what this guy has (70% mental health and a variety of other issues). I'm 58 and quit my job three years ago because of the impacts my mental health was having on me. Problem is, I'm afraid to apply for unemployability to get to 100% because I've heard horror stories that if I file a claim for unemployability then the VA will go back over your other ratings in an attempt to screw you and I can't afford to get less than what I'm getting. Not sure how to handle this.
Anything is possible with the VA man. You either try for a 100% or stay at 90%. You can go the “hard way” which is getting to 95% or TDIU. I started out at 90% exactly. Fought my way to 94% which I’m currently at (one point away) As long as you have medical evidence to support all your disabilities. You should be fine. It’s never a guarantee but it’s helped me get to 94% man. Where on the 90% spectrum are you exactly
I'm at 90% they gave me a CPAP machine but they keep dening my claim for sleep apnea but they awarded me 30% chronic insomnia, 30% migraine refilled for increase for higher rating, plus multiple others with the back
They keep deining me too for OSA, when they have serevice connected me with Chronic Sinusitis, Chronic Sinus Rhinistis, which required Radial Sinus Surgery, and Pneumoniaosis connected with GW Airborne Hazards and Burnpits. I have made claims three times for OSA, all resulting in a denial. I am on a CPAP, issued by the VA Medical side of the system and have been for over 5 years. They are playing games with me.
Thank you for your service Craig. I need clarification of the following statement from the VA - "VA’s National Work Queue (NWQ) awaiting assignment/recall by a VA Regional Office (VARO)" I've been watching you and others but I could not recall ever hearing anybody mention the first - NWQ?
Where does bilateral factor show on your disabilities list? I'm 70% total but when I use your calculator and list bilateral knee replacements at 30% I get to 80% not 70%. Does the VA automatically figure it in or do you have to claim bilateral factor?
If with the bilateral the % is an even number it will not say. Add 10% and you should see something like you are 70% with 5.4 bi added in. Play with it for a while it does show up.
I'm rated at 90 and just got my results back from the VA for my sleep apnea and it came back as severe the reading was at 60 hopefully it will bump me up to 100
"I want the VA to recoginize my disability" - haha, I have honestly struggled with this. Asthma secondary to burn pit which has brought me from Army Marathon Team status to "you need to breath better" status, 10% rating...... F that. Ok, I am complaining - but also, I appreciate the sarcasm because I do need to reframe how I look at all of this. So Thank you!
@CombatCraig I was just diagnosed with Allergic Rhinitis and I submitted my claim for it as a presumptive condition. My question is, I was also diagnosed by the Allergist for Allergy Asthma. Could that be claimed as regular Asthma? Also, would that be claimed secondary to Allergic Rhinitis or on its own? Thanks in advance
I have a C-Pap but do not have a rating because it did not come about during my service, but it has come to affect my emotional state because of lack of sleep. Now I also have a 70% for Depression. Can I claim sleep apnea as a secondary to my depression as lack of sleep has made my depression worse?
I wish you would make a video talkin about VA disability claim and the Camp Lejeune lawsuit. Talk about how one affects the other. I can't imagine the VA allowing service members that were at Camp Lejeune to double-dip. And everytime I talk to a lawyer and give them a scenario I get them just as confused.
I just don't understand the rating math. I'm Service Connected 10% for Tinnitus, Now in the process of getting Rated for my Back. I had the Nexus letter, Buddy Statement and Diagnosis from my Private Dr. What do you estimate my Rating will be? M51.06 Herniated Disc w/Myelopothy, M47.896 Osteoarthritis of the Lumbar Spine, M48.061 Spinal Stenosis, Lumbar region,M54.17 Lumbar Radiculopothy and M43.06 Lumbar Retrolisthesis. Any predictions?

You don't need 6% you need one 10% or1% to made 95% and done. Have you done Tinnitus yet? I'm holding that one for last because if I hit 70% MH I will be 94% also.
Im at 100 for now due to PACT Act PC. I was at 90% before I was service connected for cancer so when I have my “remission “ reduction I want to apply for residues and see how it goes.
i'm at 90% and my pay is $2486 and change. if this guy is getting $3500, i assume he has plenty of dependents to collect on. anyway, i've been denied for sleep apnea, and am was awarded 70% for depression, anxiety and residuals from a TBI, and can't work nor do i want to be around others due to my conditions, so what do i do?
Just so guys know since you were talking about the 100% rating pays more than what an O-1 officer makes. Enlisted Pay is dogshit you need to be an E-7 before you even get close to that
Got 50% for gerd then secondary for hypertensive lower esophageal sphincter that was an additional 30% on top of all my other ratings I just got my 100%. I still have pending copd and sleep apnea

Homeless? Why didn't you apply for the IP Domiciliary program at the VA? It would have helped you much sooner.
@@DIVISIONINCISION Because I did not need the active clinical rehabilitation assistance that is now the main focus of the Domiciliary Program.

Hey Matt and Craig. Finally got my 100% P/T. 70% PTSD with TDIU=100%. THANK GOD!!!
It’s really great Matt Hill was able to visit and discuss several/multiple videos. Thanks for all the content Combat Craig

I just want to say that you both have greatly helped me, thank you so much.
