Oh my goodness, 40 years of dirt? And it came off so easily, too! One might think it was put on there only yesterday. You certainly have a talent with a scrub brush!
It looks like it sat in a closet for 40+ years, then the outside was muddied and painted before doing this video. It is way too clean on the inside, and there is zero corrosion on the inside from it being in the elements, just normal use and age patina.
It could’ve been thrown out in a junk yard and it most likely wasn’t out that long since only the outside is messy. I know the junkyard or old friends/grandparents or eBay is where most people who do restorations on vintage items like this get their stuff
I hate to be negative or suspicious but I see a few items on these restorations that seem like they are way dirtier than they should be. Also it always looks like the same kind of "dirt" if you know what I mean. I love the restoration but of it does not seem genuine.
The numbers in the red circle and which are written in white are "Indian" numbers, but they were widely used in the Arab World, assuming they were Arabic numbers. I was pleased to see this phone device after it disappeared from the people. Nice work. I hope you make other nice videos like this one. Thank you.
I use an old rotaryphone at landline for my daily call. It is an old FeTap from German Bundespost, made in 1983. It has the same green color like this phone here.

De kleur vd telefoon was volgens mij het typische PTT Telecom groen van die tijd, zoals ook de telefooncellen waren. Goeie restoratie! En hij deed 't ook nog! Mooi.
I just brought an old 228 wall phone from eBay. It was very interesting how your video shown most of the phone parts were slotted together. Was curious how to clean it, and was surprised you used simple soap and water with a brush to finish the job. Thanks*****
Right! Funny how the inside and the bottom is so clean, despite the outside looking like it was submerged in mud (or vomit? 😂) One gets the feeling that the phone was dirtied up to make the restoration and result look more impressive.

My gosh, what in the world happened to that phone?! It looked like it had been through some stuff, if you know what I mean. It looked like how I feel after raising 3+ kids on my own followed by a bad divorce. Lol. I LOVE the green. It would go perfectly in my home. 🙂 I just love to see old things get a new lease on life and I REALLY enjoy your videos. 💚💚💚
I HATED those phones! I could never remember if I rotated to three twice or three times when dialing my old home phone in grade school! I was OVER THE FUCKING MOON when push button phones came out! THEN I knew I was dialing the right number!
Wow that inner dial is so cool! Analog devices had to be made so precisely! Given that phone lines are digital, now, does this phone still take and make calls? Great restoration!
@@notmasterdelectronics You can use one, but you can't use the rotary dial when a machine asks you to press a button (happened when the digital phone broke and I called the phone company).
@@notmasterdelectronics i still use landlines, not planning to ever stopping. But it only works if our internet is working. Internet down and no phone 😲
Have an analog rotary wall phone still on a land line at my folk’s place, works just fine for basic calling. Spinning the dial generates a number of electrical pulses, depending on how long it takes to return to neutral. These pulses are sent to the telephone provider, and their hardware (mostly software now) does all the rest. It’s actually nice to have in the sticks because the old landlines carry their own tiny bit of own power and still work when the rest of the electricity goes out!
What an amazing job you did! This phone is so retro! I personally remember phones from the 60's nothing older. This design I don't recall we rented the phone companies standard series, Bell Atlantic. And olive green was the fashion. This cool phone you have is a Gumby green. 😆 You have a unique talent & trade. Thank you for sharing your skills. ☎️😄

You mean some of these videos aren’t exactly what they claim to be? I’m shocked!!!
Yep, never seen that dirt naturally can look like this. Here should be a lot of dust everywhere. Maybe greesy dust, but not like this.

Í love Vintage. It's beautiful OLD TELEPHONE ☎️👍
Both my grandmother's had rotary phones in their homes when I were a kid. Thanks for the memories
The dirt looks staged, not naturally accumulated. 🤣🤣🤣 Good restoration though.
The squeaky clean coiled wire is a dead giveaway.
Why do you think none of the metal parts had any rust
It's completely fake

I'm dying to get a phone like this one in black color, remind me of my years as a child and having one in our apartment.
We had two exactly the same one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom

Why do i feel that phone was purposely made look like old with by applying dirt and grim
Right! Funny how the inside and the bottom is so clean, despite the outside looking like it was submerged in mud (or vomit? 😂) One gets the feeling that the phone was dirtied up to make the restoration and result look more impressive.
Because that's the truth with all these overseas "restoration" videos. Clickbate garbage.
I agree. Purposely made to look grungy. If it was real, there would have been human gunk all over it, especially the mouthpiece.
How does one apply "grim"? Maybe you meant GRIME?
Did you know who's invented of first telephone!?

Was about to say that isn’t vintage… until I did the math and thought about the fact that it’s 41 years old😅😭
I used those phones as a kid, plugged in the wall and no where to go.
I guess im vintage.
Two words to make me feel too
Beta tapes
41? Not older? 🤣 I thought it was muuuch older.
But the 60s was like 60 years ago. 1960 to 2000 is 40 years. 2000 to 2021 is 21 years. So it was 61 years ago. Not 41.
This guy must be good at math, i see.
