@@johnm3845 you might be the only smart one here😂 just got finished changing my mom’s oil. It was honestly simple. I just thought that filter canister would be on the bottom.
What? This isn’t a warning of something that would usually happen, this is something, that if it occurred, you should not be working on your own vehicle.
Autozone was a little closer, but this kind of advertising (education) convinces me to go further to my local O-Reilly. You mentioned socket sizes, so I know to get the one I'm missing (15/16"), and you even told us how to reset the oil warning. Thanks!
Thanks. This might be helpful. When vn was new, I was getting it changed, but now the warranty is long gone, maybe I can save a few bucks and change it myself.
Looks like the jack stands go in the spots where the manual says you should put the jack when changing a tire, there are places on the car designed to support its weight there. I've been trying to find something definitive on where the trolley jack should lift the car at the front like this, and unfortunately this is the closest I've come yet to seeing someone actually show that - all the other videos have the car up on a hoist. Kind of frustrating, seeing it from the outside like this *almost* gives me confidence to try but I really don't want to wreck anything.
d) For the 3.6 liter pentastar, there is a different oil filter and filter cap for 2013 and below (WIX 57526.) 2014 and above the filter and cap were changed (WIX WL10010) due to redesign of the ridiculous plastic oil filter/oil cooler housing. They take two different oil filter models with the associated different part numbers. The filter you show is the later..2014 and above model. So this video isn't the same for all models. That seems like an important point that you missed. Note, that ALL pentastar motors have the same ridiculous plastic filter/cooler housing which is prone to breakage. Don't overtighten the cap or use the wrong oil filter. If you break the plastic neck or anything else, the fix is fairly expensive, and not an easy DIY repair. The entire top of the motor (plenum, fuel line, coils etc) all have to be removed in order to get to the unit. Note also, that there are now aluminum replacement units, so don't use an o.e. plastic replacement.
kids. if you are watching this at home always use rubber gloves when handling oil. In the video he smeared oil on the O-ring with his bare fingers. no no.
He explained both. If you have a key star: 1) Turn the key to the first position, which turns on the car without starting the engine. 2) Complete the gas pedal process as described in the video 3) Turn the key back to off position

Warning, if you are using ramps instead of a jack DO NOT leave the filter cap off when you start the engine!
This happened to me. Lol
Don’t leave it off at all.
Why would anyone start an engine while the oil change is in process?

Very informative and helpful. My Grand Caravan however didn't use the full 6 quarts
Very useful and easy to understand!
Perfect tutorial.
O O O O'Reilly!!!! Auto Parts...OW
This video was excellent
Great video. Thank you
Ya bet I'm subscribing. I love cars.
Great video..
Reset with key fob ignition?
The oil filter housing needs a 24mm, not a 15/16th socket. At least on the 2016
2013 needs 15/16
He said both, are they not the same? Edit:, just checked Google, is says they are not the same but close.
no new drain plug washer?
Where did you put the jack and where did you put the jack stands?

It is too late of reply, but it is a good question. In any car, place the jack underneath the frame which is made of solid steel.

Thank you, sir.
How is it a metric OR imperial socket?
metric roughly corresponds to imperial, very slight difference in most cases.
13mm is the right fit@@AvnerRosenstein-ULTRA-LXV
13 mm for the drain plug and 24 mm for the filter housing. Trust me on this
Not accurate for 2008 and/or 3.3L engine. What jack point are you using?
Ahh yes start your engine with no air filter 😂
thank you
Does the 2016 take conventional oil or synthetic
Does it matter?
It is up to you. Pay more money and drive more millage.
what is the real consumption of 3.6 283 horsepower .Gasoline, thank you
I poured the oil into the windshield washer reservoir abhahahahaha jk

Misinformation-2010 has a screw on filter
So basically we are only tuaght how to reset if we have keyless start, he never mentioned how to reset if you have key-start.
He explained both. If you have a key star:
1) Turn the key to the first position, which turns on the car without starting the engine.
2) Complete the gas pedal process as described in the video
3) Turn the key back to off position
Man you never run the vehicle that oil gets hit fast so wtf he talking about?
That's what I'm saying why turn it on to begin with
