Thanks so much, this Turbo Otter was a fun one to see and I love the livery. I wish the weather had cooperated a little better as well. This company just got another Twin Otter and has painted it in this same livery, so I really hope to catch it on my next trip to Vancouver.
Thanks so much, these classic seaplanes are always fun to see in action. If you ever make it to Vancouver, definitely check out the harbour. There is always tons of interesting seaplane action there.
WOW what an amazing video, Jesse! The camera angels are so nice! The good old Turbo Otter looks really great in this beautiful Canadian Flag livery! And the paddle wheel boat was the cherry on the cake :) Huge like from me!
Thanks so much Matt! I always have a ton of fun spotting these seaplanes, the Vancouver Harbour is one of my favourite locations to visit. If you are ever passing through Vancouver, you must stop there, I know you'd love it!! So true, the paddle wheeler was a fun surprise to see. This is the first time I had ever noticed one while spotting here 😃
Absolutely wonderful spotting and footage of the DHC-3T, hope you had a great time, as always keep up the great work and enjoy your passions to what you do, as I’m sure many look forward towards your amazing work anyday - 👍🔥💙
The propellers are variable pitch/angle, making it possible to vary the thrust. The turbine engine runs at optimal/fixed rpm settings, while the pilot still has thrust control.
I love the Turbine Sound sooooo much, Jesse 😊
Wonderful report of the harbour airport, my good friend 👍🏻 👋 👍🏻 👋
Thanks again Volker, I really appreciate it. It is always a ton of fun doing some seaplane spotting at the Vancouver harbour 😎
Such a beauty, also loving the Canadian themed colors, shame that the weather wasn't nicer. Then it would have been that perfect video.

Did you see any additional patrols of the restricted zone after the boat collision?
I actually shot this one awhile back before the accident occurred. I'm not sure what added precautions they may have added since that incident.
on a ground when propellers are generating thrust the brakes on tire can stop the the plane from moving but how it is done in water planes?
The propellers are variable pitch/angle, making it possible to vary the thrust. The turbine engine runs at optimal/fixed rpm settings, while the pilot still has thrust control.
2:44 But you'll still keep moving forward due to the residual thrust of the exhaust gasses unless you give it a bit of treverse thrust.
Is it going to crash into a boat in the harbour killing people ?? 🤣🤣
